Up till recently I had a boss JUST LIKE CHARLES except she often threw emotional tantrums and had everyone in the office walking on eggshells around her. The way he was saying Jim was a disappointment and fell short of expectations gave me PTSD because that's what my boss was saying about me less than 5 months into the job, yet my other bosses and coworkers had nothing but kind and/or honest critiques of me. If a person like this gets it into their head that they don't like you, then there's nothing you can do to change it. Better off not trying to please them and doing your best within your role at the job, even if they don't fully define your role (setting you up for failure) but that's another topic.

    Charles: "What's a two-way petting zoo?"
Jim, defeated: "... You pet the animals and they pet you back."

Ah yes, a classic rivalry, like Michael vs Toby, Pam vs Karen, or Creed vs William Charles Schneider, oh and who can forget, Mose vs paper...

Creed and Kevin are the most Mysterious characters in the office.
One theory i read on reddit is that,Creed was never an employee. he simply walked into the office and started working.
Also, that the real name of creed is William Charles Schneider and he made the real Creed "disappear" and stole his identity.

Charles is one of the most realistic and done to earth characters on the show. He may seem harsh and unapproachable, but very fair and ....normal...which is a rarity in this show

Idk about that man he acted like jim was crazy to duck in the soccer game when he put all his force into that kick going straight to his upper chest, then acted like it was Jim’s fault

I did find it interesting that Jim didn't know what to do about someone in charge not finding him charming or funny. But there was clear bias by Charles that he actively disliked Jim and favored Dwight bc Jim wasn't like him mentally and didn't act like a lap dog like Dwight did lol.

He was a great character because he truly showed how goody that entire office was, including Jim.
