The best part was you seeing the #1 computer move that Bobby missed. ;)
But I think he was done collecting pieces and wanted to start his mating net; plus, he may have thought Byrne would RESIGN IF HE PLAYED THAT BISHOP FORKING THE QUEEN AND KNIGHT... aha, and wanted to get a checkmate while he still could.

Like I said I’m better than Bobby lol. You’re right though I think he wanted to finish the game his way. That was the artist in him.

Bobby Fischer had nerves of steel at 13 years of age. These players nowadays would crap their pants if they thought of playing such moves. Kasparov wouldn't though. That man has brass balls.

I think his calculation was so good that it didn’t come down to the fact that he had nerves of steel, he just basically saw into the future lol. To us it looks like he took a chance with the sacrifice but he probably saw everything clearly. In other words he didn’t risk anything. Thanks for watching - hope you enjoyed!

The fact that he thought of that idea as a 13 year old is terrifying !

My coach used this game as the basis of a lesson last week. I did not find 11... Na4. It being obvious I had never seen the game before, he stopped at 17. Kf1. "What is the best move for black?" A queen sac, of course, or we wouldn't stop here. Rated 1000, I am clever like that. I fumbled around for 5 minutes before he showed me, and Be6 broke my brain. I will never 'unsee' that move, or forget this game.

Yes, I have played 'Be6' in every game I play online, but I don't get the same results Bobby did with it. I guess it matters where the other pieces are in the end. ;)

    The line I saw when pausing was Na4, Nxa4, Nxe4, Qxe7, Re8, Qxd8, Nxg5+, Qxe8+, Rxe8+, Be2, Nxf3+, Kg1, who knows what the computer thinks about any of that

I would put it in the engine and see what it says. It might be a legit variation.
