I'll tell you an awesome story. Do you remember when companies used to mail out literature with a penny stuck to the plastic window on the envelope?? Well I found an absolute mint 85 penny in an unopened piece of mail at my grandma's house yesterday
thats just cool! I remember when they did this! Now I wish I would have just slid those ads with the penny into a drawer somewhere!
Need to look through my stuff. Parents put pocket change in a box on the counter for years and some of it sat right there. I know I have some pennies that went in more or less new and sat there for 30 years. Maybe get $10 each on ebay!

I just started to look through them and found a lot of penny's you posting up in very good condition... Maybe I should make a video to show what I have to see what u coin guys think of them.... hi blueridge, i been watching your vid's for some months now thanks for all the info. i just wanted to let you know that the press's they use to stamp out the coins are called power press's. And the ones for the coins and in a lot of other areas like the jewelry industy have automatic power press's . this means a man called a tool /die setter toolsetter, i use to be one in the jewelry indusrty. set the die up in the machine run a few off then show your boss and he gives you the ok to run it. then you get your stock load up your feeder and put a pan to catch the finish ones in . after all this is done you just turn on the machine and it will run by itself automatic power press. but toolsetter or some one has to stand there and keep a eye on it at all times. i always go on you tube with my moble phone but i cannot see how to reply to post on moble so i am on my pc now just to reply to you. ok thanks i love to search coins always did since i was like 12, but since i seen you and other people letting everyone know whats going on with it i been sreaching boxes of pennies fond sone interesting ones.

I ran across a 1993 penny that has very tiny ripples in the finish. Almost microsopic! You can tell that it was like this before strike.
Any value to these?

The later metals of coins makes it more difficult to find high graded coins.

I have a 1982 no mint ,very good condition, looks like a 2016....A 1984 d ,also in great condition and a 1987 d....My best 1980's pennies.I'd like some feedback from a true and reliable collector please.I'm new at this and don't want to be giving false info.Thanks so much.
Cj Jaschinsky The 1987 D isnt worth anything unless its in practically perfect condition (in which case it'd be only $0.25) The 1984 D is slightly better at about $0.75 for a near perfect condition. As for the 1982 no mint it highly depends on if its copper or zinc and if its a small date or a large date. Just flip the coin and listen to the sound. If it rings its copper of not its zinc. If your unsure about that method then you can weigh it on a scale (copper is 3.11 grams and zinc 2.5 grams) The zinc are rarer as the switch from copper to zinc wasn't until the end of October that year. The small vs large date easy to tell apart when you can compare them against each other. I suggest looking it up online how to tell them apart though. The small date are considerably rarer and worth more. I don't know actual prices on each type of 1982 penny although I would not expect more than $10 if its a small date and alot less if its a large date. Hope this helps.

it's a business strike-regular penny in that grade that's why it sold for so much$ hardly any graded that high from that big grading co.
