We are again thrown back into the mythical, ancient and cold North, exploring the desolate, ancestral landscapes of eternal Fire and Ice. The wanderer witnesses the past and observes the creation of the World and Gods.
"Norðr" is second album by Gaetir the Mountainkeepr and is best described as mythological, ancestral nordic ambient. The album is stylistically building upon its predecessor, with this time focusing much more on atmospheric, ambiental and ritualistic elements. The hypnotic soundscapes slowly move across the archaic mind, awakening the distant Northern archetypes.

Personally when I don't feel Nordic enough around this time of the year, I just step out for a smoke and realize that cold doesn't phaze me.. Then I walk inside again and lament the fact that I took a walk to long when I was in my teen and got onset frostbite on my legs. Seems to have made my legs sensitive to cold. Damn it.
Remember people.. Just because you don't react much to cold doesn't mean it's not there...

This just makes me think,of a time before us,when the weather was different more fresher but harsher, i wonder what it was like sailing in an unexplored planet finding new land for your people to farm, sailing past ice bergs,living in norway or iceland at this time period...i want to live that life in that timeline as my ancestors did...and seeing this all happen through time of mankind, through a-birds-eye-view!

I have part native american (Hopi Indian from my biological father) blood in me and some I'm sure are of European ancestry (as I'm mostly white for the most part), I really am not sure all of what I have, but I feel more connected to anything of Norse mythology then anything. I've read quite a bit of mythology, some Egyptian, some Celtic, Greek/Rome ect, ect. But when I read Norse mythology, It's almost like it calls out to me.
The Allfather calls many, but few follow.
That is because it touches you Heart...which is Eternal.....You may have 'been' all of the others you mentioned, but THIS one has touched you most deeply.........it may also be a 'bleed-through' where a life can be more easily touched from THIS Life's point of living. It's really interesting and fun to do! Meditation can assist you to 'get there'..then be open to names, words, places, etc. ...most of the info cannot be verified by traditional methods but that is not the point. The "Point" is for you to explore who you ARE in all sorts of timelines. Good Luck if you choose to explore yourSELF!

hey, i know you posted this a year ago. but I just wanted to say, unless you die in battle Valhalla isn't where you'll end up. and that is ok! we all return to Hel eventually, and it is there that the 6 aspects of the self will split and you will be taken to where you were meant to go. Even Valhalla is in Hel. the Christians were the ones who came up with the notion of Valhalla being the Heaven location for the soul. hope this helps :)
