- So, I finally got around to doing this one, Purple Rain...
In this video I am using my old Hohner guitar, a Fender Santa Ana drive, a Fender Mirror Delay and the Boss RC3, all available on www.andertons.co.uk
You can support me so I can keep making videos on my own channel by buying the Andertons Guitar Jam Tracks here andertonstv.bandcamp.com/
Thank you for watching, please like and subscribe.
All my best
Pete
Thank you for your support - Hudba
I often wonder if people learning music these days realise how lucky they are too have such a wealth of knowledge freely available to draw on. When I was young a lot of people often kept their skills to themselves as if they'd been given them by a mystical musical god who'd sworn them to secrecy or risk having them being taken away again :-0 Thanks for sharing :-)
Hey dude, I been using this avatar for years! Not cool.
Yeah, I remember literally only having old Yngwie Malmsteem tutorials that I downloaded on limewire. And when you had to actually go buy albums, so hearing great music on the radio meant you stayed in the car until it was over and you enjoyed every second.
Stirling Archer maybe they don’t because they don’t know life without them. But we do. And we appreciate them.
I remember going to see RHCP a second time around and getting as near to the front as possible, just because I needed to see how John played Cant Stop.
It was even harder if you were left-handed, which is why I'm a lefty playing righty. Best, Pete.
Prince didn't play - (or write) - the opening chord progression Pete. It was 19 year old Wendy Melvoin's interpretation of a more "straight" progression Prince was working on - (actually for a country song) - but he liked her interpretation so much he changed the whole feel of the song to go with it. Her debut gig with Prince was recorded live, and they kept her guitar part from Purple Rain, which is what came out on all subsequent recordings of the song. It's such an iconic guitar part I felt she deserves some credit - some debut at 19! Love your videos and playing. Shine on.
My wife asked me who my favourite guitarist was and I said Peter Honoré.
A perfectly cromulent response. Dude's got jam.
well said, my friend
My favourite guitarist asked me who I want as my wife and I said Peter Honoré
An obviously kind and lovely guy. So talented and openly generous with your knowledge. You're a credit to yourself and musicians in general. Thanks Pete.
That talk at the end was an additional lesson. Thank you Pete.
I love Prince and I love Danish Pete.
I played this intro while wifey feed my little son. He has to hear awesome music from the start of his life ♥
Purple Rain has just never got me.
UNTIL NOW! 💜
Beautiful beautiful playing Pete.
That John Mayer photo on the back just makes this x1000 times better
Absolutely agree with Stirling. Too much knowledge hidden for too much time. Now things are different and we connect with people like you that brings talent and share it generously. I found more tutorials about the awesome solo of Prince, but no one goes further and express his own soul like you do. That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
Danish Pete!! you have become my reference on guitar, gear and playing!!
Wonderful work. Thanks so much!
Again, thanks for putting so much of yourself out here for the benefit of the likes of myself and others.
This took me back to 1995 and several nights of gigging this great song.
Your phrasing is exceptional, thanks for sharing this.
I clicked the like button without even watching it first because I know it's going to be great. Love Pete's playing, he's fantastic!
2.38 massive goose bumps. Gorgeous playing.
Credit to Wendy Melvoin for the beautiful chord inversions on the original.
Found this, cause we will play Purple Rain in the Band. I`m Speechless. Wow... wow... wow... love it. Such a great inspiration.
PETE please oh please don't change the overall aesthetic. I know with these older guitars they need maintenance and some upgrades here and there for integrity purposes but that is one of the most beautiful guitars of all time. So symbolic, so important in so many ways. Thanks for the lesson, it brings us all pure joy when we see a Danish P. notification pop up. You know you are in for something very special!
Always a pleasure watching and listening to you
That touch! Oooh man. Beautiful Peter, really beautiful.
We know this will never gets old. Beautiful Hohner, Pete!
Looping tutorials are really really great and your videos are totally inspiring. Big thumbs up and can't wait for more!
I know there is a lot of hard work and dedication proceding your playing but you make it look so easy and loose . It all comes so natural for you. Thanks for another great vid.
There is nothing natural in this, i suspect Pete to be an alien.
You make love to the guitar with your fingers. The emotion and feel you put into your playing is what makes you such a great player. Thanks for being you, Pete!
I could watch/listen to this all day...Thanks, Pete!!
Could listen to that all day!
I always like coming back to this one, Pete looking so genuinely happy and a great song too. Awesome.
Pete i love these Loop/instruction Videos sooo much! Best way to learn something amazingly musical!
One of my favourite tracks to jam with my friends is Purple Rain. I must have played it a hundred times, and yet here I am watching Pete teach people how to play this song. And it's all because I just want to hear Pete play over this amazing track. Great job my man x

Literally my no.1 loop to jam to. Could listen to you play along to that for hours.
Picking up the guitar and playing along with this is one of the best things I've done for my playing. Thanks Pete, your lessons are the best.
10 mins later. " Anyway that's not what I'm going to do today!"
That was a Great A lesson in itself. Ooooooweeeee!! 🌋🌋
Love this, thank you Pete. One of my Go-to-songs when playing guitar
Yeah, there are many very good guitarists but it's a rare thing if you are a great teacher at the same time. And that's you man, lucky to randomly stumble on your channel. Cheers!

Also thanks for going much more in detail about the naughty dominant bluesy scales!
All the guitar players at Andertons are fantastic, but I do love the very tasteful playing of Pete. More of these please!

Missed the purple tele playing purple rain, but what a beautiful Hohner. Can’t wait to see what you do to it. Great video, love the looper videos!!
I was literally trying to learn this song yesterday but couldn´t get it to sound exactly right. This video really helped! Good to know that I´m not the only one struggeling with that "hellish" chord;) You are a really tastefull player. Thanks for the help from a Swede.
I tend to just use a X-6-8-8-6-6 chord just to keep it easy. I don't trust myself to nail the hellish chord every time.
Sounds great!
Beautifully played.
Absolutely awesome! Thank you
Lovely guy and player. Great stuff!
Nice shirt ;)
You know it gurl...
The Andertons crew (yes I'm counting you in, Ariel) should start a podcast where you just talk about gear, life and whatever... Nice Playing and lots of banter, I'd definitely listen to it
Nicer cap ;)
Makes me miss him so much 😭
Real tasty playing Pete! Keep up the good work.
