  • So, I finally got around to doing this one, Purple Rain...
In this video I am using my old Hohner guitar, a Fender Santa Ana drive, a Fender Mirror Delay and the Boss RC3, all available on www.andertons.co.uk
You can support me so I can keep making videos on my own channel by buying the Andertons Guitar Jam Tracks here andertonstv.bandcamp.com/
Thank you for watching, please like and subscribe.
    All my best
    Pete
    Thank you for your support

I often wonder if people learning music these days realise how lucky they are too have such a wealth of knowledge freely available to draw on. When I was young a lot of people often kept their skills to themselves as if they'd been given them by a mystical musical god who'd sworn them to secrecy or risk having them being taken away again :-0 Thanks for sharing :-)

Yeah, I remember literally only having old Yngwie Malmsteem tutorials that I downloaded on limewire. And when you had to actually go buy albums, so hearing great music on the radio meant you stayed in the car until it was over and you enjoyed every second.

Stirling Archer maybe they don’t because they don’t know life without them. But we do. And we appreciate them.

I remember going to see RHCP a second time around and getting as near to the front as possible, just because I needed to see how John played Cant Stop.

Prince didn't play - (or write) - the opening chord progression Pete. It was 19 year old Wendy Melvoin's interpretation of a more "straight" progression Prince was working on - (actually for a country song) - but he liked her interpretation so much he changed the whole feel of the song to go with it. Her debut gig with Prince was recorded live, and they kept her guitar part from Purple Rain, which is what came out on all subsequent recordings of the song. It's such an iconic guitar part I felt she deserves some credit - some debut at 19! Love your videos and playing. Shine on.

Absolutely agree with Stirling. Too much knowledge hidden for too much time. Now things are different and we connect with people like you that brings talent and share it generously. I found more tutorials about the awesome solo of Prince, but no one goes further and express his own soul like you do. That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.

PETE please oh please don't change the overall aesthetic. I know with these older guitars they need maintenance and some upgrades here and there for integrity purposes but that is one of the most beautiful guitars of all time. So symbolic, so important in so many ways. Thanks for the lesson, it brings us all pure joy when we see a Danish P. notification pop up. You know you are in for something very special!
