So you don't own one and are just giving your opinions on a device that you have no real experience of. Thats like me saying the Bugatti Veyron is a crap car, how would i know?
Here's the facts from an actual owner/user of the 11' iPad Pro M4
    1. Its insanely fast, the SOC screams and when you consider it hads no active cooling and yet can handle any task, thats amazing.
    2. Yeah its thin, but doesn't feel fragile, I previously had (still have it) the 12.9 inch M1 iPad pro and the 11" is so much nicer in the hand.
    3. I dock it with a Caldigit Elements hub, (which daisy chains from one of the USB 4 ports to a TS3+) and to a Ultra wide display, Mechanical keyboard, Mx Master 3 , Edifier speakers (via the SP/DIF output on the TS3+) No lag, no issues, never really had them on iPadOS 17 either in docked mode. (Currently running iPadOS16 Dev beta 3 with no issues)
    4. Its a great bit of EDC kit, fits in my sling, with QC35s (still the most comfortable headphones), and Magic Keyboard.
    5. The display really is gorgeous, not significantly better than my mini LED 12.9 but better
    6. iPadOS still is more of a PhoneOS rather than a desktop OS and thats frustrating. When its good its excellent when its bad, its frustrating.
    The down sides
    1. Its too expensive and having to fork out for new Keyboard and pencil is bad.
    2. iPADOS is still not as good as DEX mode on my S24 Ultra, but at least we can now format an SSD and its much better than it was.
    3. The new Magic Keyboard can feel top heavy if using it in your lap , but the new Logitech combo touch is there if you need it. I haven't used it though.
    4. Having a single TB4/USB 4 port sucks, as I would like to be able to attach a TB4 SSD to the other port while docked.
Here's a secret about high refresh rate displays, theyre like Megapixels, a marketing gimmick. Your eyes cannot work at 120Hz, its not how eyes work. amplify.nabshow.com/articles/create-your-eyes-vs-frame-rates/ explains it, but there are other articles out there.

iPad is just a big iPhone. Got it.

Apple has spoiled their customers rotten. Before this new 13” iPad pro I had owned only one tablet, Lenovo M10. It couldn’t even handle watching youtube and occasional googling something up without becoming unresponsive and raising my blood pressure. Then I switched to this iPad Pro M4 and it is AWESOME. No tech has rocked my world like this since Amiga 500 in the 1980’s. And the Magic keyboard sits just fine on my lap. And I have never used a stylus before, but Pencil Pro is great as a pointer device and works like a charm while browsing. Zero learning curve. The level of technological sophistication in both hardware and software and attention to detail is mindblowing. Try reviewing Lenovo M10 if you want to see a tablet that is a real joke. In fact, try to switch to it for a month, I bet that iPad Pro starts to feel pretty darn magical after that 😄

Thing is, you could’ve gotten an iPad Pro from 2018 and gotten roughly the same experience

@@christianr.5868 Yeah, but not M4. Incredible chipset with state-of-the-art neural engine. Which will be useful for Apple Intelligence, when the ipad experience will start to change. M4 is very futureproofed. And the tandem oled screen, there’s no comparison. Anyone who says different has not seen this.

@@atklm1 I’ve seen it in person, the screen is very nice, but the screen on the m1 iPad Pro is also very nice. And it was future proofed since the m1 tbh. Only a handful of apps use its true capabilities. And m1 also gets apple intelligence. The m4 is great. But as someone who’s owned iPads for a very long time, they’re progressing at a snails pace in terms of what apple will allow them to do. They JUST got emulation, and the performance for that is very limited because apple won’t allow the iPad to use jit

@@christianr.5868 I see. I guess for being more hardware-oriented long time linux user I view things a bit differently 😅 You’re not really critizing the specs of the tablet, when you are critizing the user interface and iPadOS. I don’t really view them as the property of the particular tablet model itself, since they really are dictated from the cloud, and are same for every iPad. The software can be whatever during their techical lifespan. M1 was not released until late 2020, so it is not found in 2018 ipad. Besides, in upcoming years, there might be major overhaul OS updates and new software and major updates to existing ones may appear, that will result to M1 chip struggling to perform where M4 chipset excells. Possibly not even due to clear advantage over performance alone, but due to more advanced architecture and power efficiency as well. It's the first ARM v.9, I might add.

@@atklm1 I thought the same thing when I got the m1 iPad lol. They don’t want the iPad to being too good because they want to sell you an iPad and a MacBook instead of just one device. The specs of the m4 are awesome! It’s a totally amazing device, but it’s limited by software that is intentionally held back from what could be a perfect device
