i think its because they were the first kpop group to have a south american tour back in 2013. and they had a sold out concert in brazil and garnered huge audience back then. thats why the fandom is solid and strong

4:50 I guess, like you sad, one of the reasons SJ is so big is coz they’re not only singers but full entertainers, you find them in radio, tv shows, dramas… Also, they don’t try to look cool all the time, they can mix good music with laugh, like in ATPM, mamacita (mv and drama), devil teaser…
And Idk, like, if you look into videos when they went to Smtown in chile, for ex, everyone commenting how other idols looked kind scared of the crowd (what is understandable) while Suju basically went out on the street walking alongside with fans. I guess their crazy and easygoing way brings a warmth that makes hard to resist to these dorks.
The Luis Miguel song is actually a cover of the 1960's Dusty Springfield song I Only Want to be with You. It's very frustrating that nobody seems to know that. I bet you've heard it at some point in your life. Dusty Springfield was a truly great star and deserves credit for this song

Another Latin ELF here ^^ I can't tell you guys why they are so popular here but they are since before Mamacita era, maybe since 2009; there a lot of granny ELF around here 😂 I guess they just fit with latin humour and energy

I think they have such a big following in LatinAmerica because they re not as ethnocentric as in the Anglo saxon world where ONLY British /American acts are mainstream. People in Latin America listen to everything as long as it s got quality....The Anglo speaking world misses out on great music, people in other places have 3, or 4 times more music than us...English,Spanish, Kpop, Italian , Korean......An example is LUIS MIGUEL , he s literally HUGE, Luis Miguel is to the Latin world what Elvis, Michael J, or the The Beatles are to the Anglo world, but you guys couldnt even remember his name....Even though the guy is HUGE , he won the Grammy when he was 14, got a star on the Walk of fame, 3 world music awards, etc...Warner music begged LM to record in English, but he decided not to . The only recording in English LM did was when he was personally invited by Frank Sinatra to rECOrd Com e Fly with me on his duets album...LM Is bigger than Ricky Martin or Enrique in the spanish world
