  • 2/26 is the un-official day of celebration for all Sig Sauer P226 owners. I own several P226 models. My P226 Tac-Ops with the SRT trigger used to be my bae, well there is a new mistress who is getting all of my attention. the P226 X-5 Legion has some really cool features that I feel you are going to like.

    gotta say, the 226 is one of my all time favorites. It's big, solid, built like a tank, accurate, fun to shoot, low recoil, just a great hand gun. The industry issue with plates, screw lengths, pitches etc... someone needs to figure this out. The gold standard is the RMR, so everyone adopt that and let's move on. thanks for the video

    I agree the rear replacement sight should be included. Mine is finally on the way from Sig. I was able to obtain a single RMR optics plate and screws from my local gun store that fits and works perfectly with a Trijicon SRO. I love the gas pedal and can easily reach the slide release with my thumb. I do have large hands however, and I can see how these could be an issue for those with smaller hands. Everything about this gun is perfect for me so far. It should be at this price.

    As an owner, I can confirm that the rear sight is a bit of a bummer. I bought one and added it. DPP mounts with zero issues as well as the Romeo2. I think your concerns about the gas pedal seem a tad dramatic. If you can’t reach it then your no worse off than shooting a gun with nothing there. Mine came with a front and rear sight. Also, I purchased the Romeo1Pro. I had to remove the stock rear sight to install it, which was easy. I did have to also purchase the cowitness suppressor-height rear sight as well. I understand why it doesn’t come with that sight, as the stock one is adjustable. Overall, an outstanding pistol, the best I’ve ever fired!

    • @rdrgear
      @rdrgear  Před 3 měsíci +1

      100%. I never said the gun did not come with a rear sight. My complaint was that since the rear sight is a rear sight plate. The stand alone rear suppressor height should have been included

  • @garyg2077
    @garyg2077 Před 2 měsíci +2

    Delta Point Pro and the Romeo1 Pro fit the P226 X5 Legion without having to purchase any other plate. The gun does come with a rear sight, but it has to be removed to add a red dot. At that point there is a need to purchase the rear sight talked about in the video. The video is a little misleading there. Again, the P226 X5 Legion comes with an adjustable rear sight from the factory.

  • @Balticblue93

    I am a 07 FFL / 07 SOT, and I was very excited about this firearm. After receiving it, I was disappointed for the same reasons in this video. I don't carry a Sig daily, but I do have most of the Legion's and love my V-TAC and CW FCU's. But the rear sight issue, the manual safety only, the safety being in the way of the slide stop are all deal breakers for me. I sold it to a client who is used to the 1911/2011 platform, and it was perfect for him as he put on a DPP with the rear sight integrated. I love my X5-Legion and X-Carry Legion, plus the XCompact and XCARRY Spectre's, plus the Spectre Comp, and my Max Michel, I cannot find the value in this particular Legion unless you are a collector or used to this style of firearm. Nice piece but plenty other people want and need.

    I consider myself a P226 fanboy. They had this firearm at my range for rental and I took it out and shot it. I absolutely love it however, I did experience the issue with the safety as mentioned in the video. The only reason I’m gonna hold back on buying it now is the price. I have a P226 ZEV and I shot that just as well as this firearm but this firearm does shoot much flatter.

I have several of Sig's SAOs in 220, 226, and 229 and I do not use the slide release so it is not an issue. The optic system, aluminum frame, and shorten barrel were issues for me. Going with the lighter alloy frame, moving all the weight to the rear with the infused grips, and relying on porting to compensate for this is not appealing to me. If those are stopping you can't help ya. It was a simple fix. Just a bit aggravating. Not knowing going into it.

    Nice pistol but I’m not going through all that jazz to get sights and mounting solutions. If the handgun doesn’t come ready I ain’t buying it .

      Not many guns come ready these days. Actually none that I can think
      Of that come with quality plates. And the solution is simple now. If you were buying one

    Omg they really send you a gun with a front sight but no rear sight🤣. That’s a first for me. I wouldn’t but it just because i feel like they tried me😭

    Sig has always priced their accessories off the chart higher than any other major gun manufacturer. Accessories from the OEM shouldn't be a profit center due to its necessity!! Sig and a few other gun manufacturers will never get a dollar from me again. Glock is the worst at producing a handgun that needs accessories to actually make it complete with SIG not too far behind. Not the owner of a Canik, but they have it figured out. When buying a Canik, they actually send a cleaning kit and many other useful things like a holster in the same box the handgun is sold in .... Gun industry needs more Caniks and fewer Glocks & Sigs!!

    If Sig did all that, what would you have to whine about? You red dot guys whine more than any other gun owner.

    So glad i went with the p226 legion sao instead of this! That's hogwash it's a grand more than the legion and it doesn't even come with a rear sight. Plus I've heard the comp gums up really fast.
