    Very emotive painting Stewart, maybe how many of us might be feeling at this time, "lost at sea". Please take good care of your health Stewart, I was counting every second you heald your breath and I'm sure like me and many of your viewer's counting the days between your videos concerned about your wellbeing. Take good care of yourself Stewart, take your vitamins. Be Safe and Be Well my friend.

    Stuart, I enjoy not only your lessons, but, the feeling of visiting with a friend. Your relaxed approach in creating such beautiful works is one I am striving to reach. I do experience a fear of a blank canvas , and little patience with myself during the ugly part of a painting. Your relaxed approach shows a much more enjoyable way to paint. Your soft spoken voice is a vacation from all the troubling things one has to deal with . So you’ve no worries about talking too much. Please take care of yourself.

  • @dshepherd107
    @dshepherd107 Před 2 lety

    Talk about muscle memory.. you’ve only painted 3-4 mariner seascapes in the last 30 years? And this one, you completed in approximately 40 min. I learned how complicated it was to create this style of painting, & I think it would take me hours over the course of a couple days, to get it to resemble yours.
    I’ve studied your painting tutorials now for some while, & rewatched all or portions of various ones many times (often at slower speeds), in an attempt to truly see how you use your brush. I’ve come to the conclusion that painting has become very intuitive for you. Your seemingly often random brushstrokes aren’t as consciously random as one might think. There is engrained purpose & economy in those movements.
    I fell in love with the perfect clouds you made in a perfectly colored sky. The ocean does look misleadingly easy when one watches you, but I have enough experience now to know how complicated it is to paint the sea. Hoping for your recovery ❤️‍🩹 soon!
    My favorites from the old masters are Ivan K Aivazovsky & Turner.

    Amazing! I've never seen this done so masterfully before, with nautical ships, waves and the like. A great amount of detail in the ship, even without a lot of detail, like the 'illusion of detail' painting, the mind adds so much from the simplicity of it. Very good see how easily you've drawn from your early on experience, which you've mentioned in the past, on commissions of sea-work you had done. Thank you so much for sharing this tine with us, it Truly made my week! Blessings to you and your family sir. - on a side note, it was good to hear you again, I will be looking into the patreon link so that I can see other gems like this in the future.

    I’ve watched you do this one a few times. I always notice something new each time. I just love what you do and how you work. And love your commentary. This painting seems simple -but if you really look at the water and waves the subtlety of colors really makes the water appear real. Some areas are translucent, some areas opaque. And you’ve got just the right amount of whitecaps. I just love studying what you do. To painters like me, the artistry you put out is amazing. You don’t have to try to paint, it just comes out of you. Thanks so much and paint paint paint. Can’t get enuf. And pls take care of your health.
