  • I take a second look at the DSPTCH Daypack. This time, in my absolute favourite multicam black! This is the bag I tend to recommend to most people that are looking to spend around $200 on a backpack. Does it work as a camera bag? A minimal travel bag? Guess you'll have to watch to find out why ;)

    Also, apologies if the audio was muffled during points of the video I mistakenly placed my mic in a bad spot and didn't realize until I was sitting down to edit. With a baby on the way soon, no time to refilm :/ Apologies!

    Love your videos! I found your channel cause of the Mission Workshop r6 video and stayed on as a subscriber. I have a MW 40L R8 that I love, and always curious to see reviews since there aren’t many especially recent.
    This Dispatch bag looks really cool. Do you have any experience with their “unit zipper pouch -rnd edition- dyneema”? Hard to find a review and figured you might have good intel. The electric green color is wild, but also looking at white or black. Thanks!!

    • @jtinseoul7041
      @jtinseoul7041  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't have any specific intel but I do personally really like the RND stuff I do have quite a bit. The Dyneema they use feels great. And I'm glad you dig the R6 video! I am a complete Mission Workshop convert haha. The Daypack is still one of my personal favourites. Love it. On sale now too, I believe.

      @@jtinseoul7041 good to know! I think I will pull the trigger on the pouch, just have to decide on a color, I’ve never used Dyneema before but seems intriguing. And will keep an eye on the daypack.
      So glad you are a MW convert ha, they make some great stuff. A lot of people dig the Rhake, it is pretty pricey but I see you do a lot of edc stuff. I’m 6’4” so usually prefer slightly bigger bags, and the 40L r6 condenses down quite a bit if need be. I’m thinking of getting a 20L as well and then swapping arkiv modules for edc vs travel between bags. Anyway have a good day and thanks for the reply!

    • @jtinseoul7041
      @jtinseoul7041  Před 2 lety +1

      The Rhake is a good one! Although personally I prefer the Integer layout for "daily carry" kinda stuff. I think my favourite of all is my G1 Rambler. I love that bag.

    • @Jmlyniec1
      @Jmlyniec1 Před 2 lety

      @@jtinseoul7041 integer seems cool! I dig the clamshell opening, kind of like a mini radian in a way, and love that it has arkiv rails on front. I heard they are working on v2, and with all the stock sold out on their site maybe soon enough we’ll see! It seems intriguing too that you can zip up the main compartment halfway up, and if you took out the camera cube, seems very versatile for daily carry and travel. Maybe I’ll wait for it’s return instead!

    • @jtinseoul7041
      @jtinseoul7041  Před 3 lety +1

      They sold out pretty quick on that restock. I think a lot of people were waiting for that 500D switch especially for travel. I've got one on the way that should be here early next week. Depending on how things go with the impending baby I might have a video out on it at some point next week.
      In any event, you can't go wrong with the 3Dap if it fits into your lifestyle. It's a bit hard for me to use it daily as a school teacher but I do like to take it for short trips. Great bag for sure. Glad you liked the video to! A little sad that was filmed during my transition into the "studio." Was a bit ghetto! haha.

      @jtinseoul7041  Před 2 lety

      @@jtinseoul7041 Thanks. The bag would be for EDC. I have on order the 34 GR2 for travel. I have less tech stuff than you (no photography equipment) but have the typical laptop, phone, charger stuff. Also tend to stop by the gym for a workout to / from work. Hardest part for me when finding a bag is the gym stuff. If you look at the Evergoods video for their pack out it was the video that showed me how tight their bag is. So, with that additional info, any direction you would lean? BTW, appreciate your comment on the Dsptch dyneema bag. The change to the straps is an issue for me. I actually am less excited about the fabric changes to the cordura Dsptch back and straps and worry they will be less able to take wear.

      @jtinseoul7041  Před 3 lety +1

      Should have also mentioned the Black Ember looks decent but I think it's a bit too fiddly for my tastes. I got a couple of things from them and just found most of them to be over-engineered without much thought to "actual" use case situations. Another to look at for rain / minimal travel would be the Huru H1. They had some troubles with the design because it kinda resembles a bag from Mission Workshop (honestly it use it feels a lot different so I think it's a bit of a moot point). None of those options are as sexy as that Stormtrooper Dyneema Daypack though, haha.

      @@jtinseoul7041 I was looking at the black dyneema version. But... the black nylon model (like this version you've reviewed) could be considered as well.
      Reason is, the Brown Buffalo is going to be scarce and unavailable. If the Daypack is similar (and possibly cheaper), I'd consider one.

    • @jtinseoul7041
      @jtinseoul7041  Před 2 lety +1

      For me, both of the bags you're talking about are like in my top 5 bags of all time so it's a tough call. I'd say though, if you are having a hard time waiting you definitely can't go wrong with a Daypack. The black dyneema has slightly more basic straps than the nylon version but I've heard they are still comfortable. The aquaguard zippers on the Dyneema version are a plus :) Would definitely appreciate it if you use the link if you do decide to go with one. Either way, great bags all around.

    Why does no-one mention how DSPTCH use the STIFFEST webbing known to man. I have the DayPack and the SlingPack and the straps drive me crazy! It is so hard to tighten/release them compared to every other bag. Despite that I do love both of these bags.
