First of all, Carlin, you're not alone. Pregnancy hormones can be all over the place, and dealing with illnesses, and your blood clotting disorder, plus the disappointment of not getting the house you wanted is a *lot*. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus and make a list of things you have to be grateful for, and give yourself some grace. All y'all are in my prayers. 🙏🙏✝️❤❤❤
As a realtor, I know the disappointment you feel. As I tell my buyers, God's got this. He will put you in the right house. Praying for y'all. Y'all are such a blessing.
Being authentic is key. Pretending like everything is together when it’s not isn’t very genuine. This feels real and we’re able to feel the connection. Praying a home comes your way that is beyond expectations and below budget ✨💜
I really appreciate your honesty and actually find it really refreshing to see that your life is not perfect because it is a comfort to us and helps us "regular" people feel that it is okay that are lives are not perfect either. Thank you for being courageous enough to be transparent with us. It actually gives me strength.
It's natural Carlin to feel this way when you're pregnant - hormones do terrible things to your emotions and you've had a lot to deal with and your on a bit of a roller coaster right now. As it gets closer to your due date, your nesting instinct is pushing you to have the perfect home for your new baby and it was not to be right now. You are not alone in how you feel and God has a plan for you all. Please remember, you are an exemplary couple and should be very proud of how you live your lives. With God's Grace, 2022 will be an amazing year for you all. God Bless and happy New Year. It is great to focus on others but don't forget to take care of yourself also.

We pray she remembers to speak life over herself because she is totally smart not dumb cuz God made us in His image😇 God's promises are true! Reading God's word and resting in Him will definitely help you feel at peace. It will build your faith and confidence daily, as well, as in when times are difficult. I love this family pouring their heart out as well seeing how we all our vulnerable at times and yes, this time frame is definitely emotional and not easy. But God knows everything, He is working things out for good!! Yes, there will be a time where they least expect it, and that one WILL be more amazing then this one! I love watching y’all. So cute together and you remind me of “us” in our early married years. We went to Dallas TX on a work trip totally paid for by hubby’s boss and the hotel experience was just like yours. We were blown away by all the awesomeness!! Enjoy all your moments together! Even the house stuff!! God will provide the best one for you. BTW, we’ve been married now over 53 years and still in love even more than when we started out!! God Bless y’all!!
The housing market is so volatile. Your season will come for finding the perfect home! My friends in Nashville, wrote a personalized letter with a photo of their family as part of their offer, it worked. The buyer had multiple offers :)

That’s such a great idea!! My husband and I just had a baby and are looking for a bigger house so def gonna use this idea and our cute baby to bribe😂
My daughter and son in law did that when buying a home and the seller had a better offer but they got the 🏡. When they recently sold, in one day, they went with a couple who also wrote a letter to them.

Oh dear girl, I know that feeling.... 3 years ago I lost my beautiful first born son, Jacob, at 22 years old. It is a struggle every single day to fight for joy and peace. I can easily be swallowed in grief and sorrow. It is normal.

Showing us your vulnerability just shows you are human. We know that life isn’t always sunshine and roses. There are tough times and you guys sharing them of just part of life. Sorry you didn’t get the house. There must be something out there better for you and hopefully it will come to you soon. The housing market it pretty crazy. I’m sure the hormones are just making you more emotional. Don’t forget to take time to yourself for some self care. As moms we tend to put taking care of our ourselves on the back burner since we want to take care of everything else but I order for us to be our best selves we need to take time to take care of ourselves.
Trust me as a Gran at age 74, there are so, so many seasons of life. The emotions are hormonal + very very normal so no worries to add to your day. Your body is getting ready to deliver that baby. Focus on that + others as you said and the next few weeks will be a dream. Your house is out there somewhere until till time is right.
You are abundantly blessed to have each other when so many marriages are in trouble. Keep your focus on that. Everything else will fall into place! I so look forward to your videos each weekend + think about how once I was a young married bride with 2 children coming in the years ahead. Now they are grown, married with young ones of their own like you. Hugs.
I’ve been really struggling, silently, lately. Probably for a year and I just asked for help. Thank you for opening up, it really helps people feel less alone when they’re in the depths of something that seems to have a strangle on them.

Last year we bought our house after 8 declined offers. It was hard to deal with getting our hopes ups and then been told our offer was rejected. once we got our home it felt just right. It was worth it. God will provide you with a home, he has perfect timing 💓
When you find the next house write a letter to the owners about how you can’t wait to raise your family there , a personal letter can sway things in your favor. 🙂
Yes yes yes...this has been a game changer so many times. Praying God's many blessings for you guys!
You should check with your realtor before doing this. Some states have passed laws against these letters. And it can get the seller and realtor into trouble for violating the fair housing act.
When you said “ after I have my kid I hope I recognize myself and feel like myself again” 🙌🙌 exactly how I felt while pregnant and even a couple months after having my baby. Thanks for sharing ! It gets better !! The Lords faithfulness never runs dry!

Carlin, I struggle so much in my pregnancies with morning sickness and aches and the emotions. It is so encouraging to hear I'm others struggle too. This is particularly meaningful coming from you. I mark my pregnancies through your family's due dates. Watching updates on your lives has so encouraged me during those months when I'm so out of it. I just remind myself, "this time will pass and I'll look back this time next year and be so thankful!" A year ago I was watching your channel and counting down to Alyssa's due date. My baby came two long weeks later. Now I have a sweet little girl. So. Worth. It!
I’ve never been a big crier but I cried my eyes out whenever we didn’t get the house we put our first ever offer on 25years ago & I was not even pregnant. It was unexpected & so disappointing! It turned out to be for the best later on tho. Can’t wait to continue this journey with you guys ❤️
Carlin, it’s brave of you to share your feelings…and you’re allowed to feel them. Pregnancy is hard, life is hard….I hope it gets easier for you. Do things daily that make you happy….whatever it is, even if it’s doing your hair or take a bath…it may help you relax and feel more like yourself.
I was just explaining to my little one today that there’s nothing wrong with feeling sad, bummed out, or even mad when something we were hoping was gonna happen doesn’t end up happening. “Disappointment is hard and we shouldn’t pretend it isn’t. It’s not wrong to have unhappy feelings. Feelings aren’t really bad or good - how we decide to act because of our feelings is what can be bad or good. Sometimes our emotions are so big we let them take over and we make poor choices, like kicking toys or using unkind words. Holding our feelings in isn’t a good choice either because then it just sits inside us and makes us feel worse. Making good choices when we have big feelings, like asking for a hug and letting ourselves cry a little, is all we need to be concerned with.”

I remember going through that with our house too. I remember all of the let downs of missing out on houses we fell in love with. But God...He had something better than what we expected. All your feelings are justifiable! Several things, I’ll be praying for you faithfully daily. Nesting is so real and so strong it can literally make a grown woman feel out of control especially when you are looking for a new home! Talk to your doctor about your feelings! My daughter just went through this and the Dr had a solution that helped her overcome it all! A complete answer to prayer!

I totally understand, Carlin! You have to picture yourself in a house with your babies and how you’ll do stuff before you can even make an offer. Then, you take all those warm, fuzzy dreams with you on the offer and keep thinking about where you’re going to put stuff and where you’ll put the Christmas tree. And then, when it falls through? It can be really crushing. I, also, struggled this New Year. So much had changed and I know I grieve it. Sorry you’re struggling!! Will pray for you! ❤️

Ya'll have been a sweet blessing to me as just recently I started watching your vlogs! Thank for being real with us! This past summer was extremely rough for me which was caused by some health issues that made me feel completely out of control over my emotions and very irritable to those around me.. it was very, very rough, but thru that time my relationship with the LORD grew ever deeper as He became my everything to me ... take care!❤

Carlin it’s completely normal to feel up and down. I was the SAME way! I wanted to be happy, but couldn’t control it completely. So just know it’s totally normal!! You’re doing amazing mama!!! And Evan I noticed that you are so good at supporting her and making her feel better every time she feels crappy. You guys are an inspiration for my marriage and we’ve been married for almost 7 years.

You two are awesome. I remember being where you are. We had one child and we’re in a 12x65 trailer. It was a good home to us 5 years. We brought our daughter home there from the hospital. But we needed a bigger space. It took us several no’s and disappointing times. You will get there. But, it is okay to be sad. Vulnerability is a strength not a weakness...Keep listening to your body, asking questions, and invite the support of those who know and love you. There are seasons where growth hurts a little even when their a thousand things to be joyful for in your life. Blessing and Honesty❤....Glad to hear you are healthy for your start of 2022.
Every pregnancy is so different. I had 3 babies and my emotional state was different for every one. Growing humans does not come with an instruction manual. Bless you guys!
Awe, Sweetie. You are not dumb, you are human. And everything you have going on it is - a lot! It is. Praying for grace - grace on you, your mind, your spirit. Its a season. And God is good.
I was worse in my second pregnancy than my first. I ended up being diagnosed with prenatal and then post natal depression. I opted for drug free therapy because I didn’t want to mess up my hormones. Sleep, eating well and cutting yourself some slack (letting the washing pile up etc) helped take some of the “noise” off me. Just know this will take time. But if you ever feel like it’s too much and you doubt your inner strength head to the doctors and get some help. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Hey Carlin and Evan I totally agree with y’all it’s so hard when people think everything is perfect but, no one is perfect only God and Jesus Christ is perfect. And also I was also very emotional when I was pregnant with son that I just had in September 2021. I totally get you girl!! It would be so cool to do like a group of moms or new moms to help support each other. Or a group of a young couples/parents to help love and support one another and praying and listening for Gods will. Love you guys!!!

Your body is doing incredible things. And these past 2 years have been insane to add on top of all of it. I hope you get your perfect house sooner than you’re expecting to. Here's what I know from my life experience: when you do get the house that God has for you, you're going to be so glad that other house fell through.

I know I appreciate when my husband says "how can I support you?" instead of whats wrong? It can seem like there is something to fix instead of something that will need support until the baby is born. You two are so amazing with each other...So happy to witness a sweet loving caring couple.
I just want to say a few things...
1) This is the most relatable video of yours I have seen. As a loyal subscriber who watches every Saturday, most of your videos make me envious of what looks like a charmed life. Seeing you vent about your struggles doesn’t make me happy - I would never wish struggles on anyone - but it does make me feel like I’m not alone and it’s a reminder that everyone is struggling with something.
2) I work in the mortgage industry and I would HiGHLY recommend you talk with your realtor about your escalation clause. We lost out on several houses when we put in offers in this crazy market and our realtor said the only way we were going to win was to make our escalation clause higher. So, instead of going $1000 over the highest bid, we went $3000 over and we got the very next house we bid on. We knew then that the other houses were not meant to be ours.

I’m currently expecting my second child too, and I am so so exhausted all of the time - I completely understand and relate to your description of being “stuck in a cloud”. I've been wondering all day if y'all were going to post a video today and let us know about the house and how it's going since y'all put an offer in. That hotel is beautiful and the view of the city is gorgeous! I love seeing your baby bump! Carlin, you look absolutely amazing and your baby bump looks so much more adorable because you are so tiny. Your future home is out there waiting for you, you just haven't found it yet. The Lord knows the desires of your hearts and He will open the door when it's time. I was in your shoes a few years back I wanted to move so badly it almost hurt but I just left it in the Lord's hands and kept having faith even though sometimes that was not easy. Today I now live in a home I only dreamed of having. I feel so very blessed and the Lord has been so faithful to me. Carlin, hang in there you will start to feel like yourself again after the baby is born but remember to give yourself time and space and to not forget "you" in everything. Take care of yourself.❤️

We as children of God have been blessed with joy that passes all understanding..... however it's important to encourage each other that we have difficulties but those difficulties don't alter how good God has been to us. I hear and see you Evan and Carlin. Thank you for sharing even the down times. It encourages me to stay connected to joy. Because you guys smile sincerely even in hardships and that helpful for me.
Thinking about you ❤️ I’ve had a lot of trouble getting out of bed this month because my husband and I are working remotely again due to COVID. Seasonal depression is also a real thing! I think Evan is a very grounding force for Carlin, especially during this pregnancy and with all the changes that are happening in your whole family. Carlin, give yourself grace and mercy.
