sometimes when i listen to frank songs that feel like longing or farewells or bittersweet moments i think of myself throughout all of my life looking at where i am now. i long for the innocence of youth, i bid my old friends and my old life farewell, and i look at how far i have yet to go and how far I’ve come and it all feels bittersweet. I don’t have a lost love or a close friends to grieve but i feel like even just looking at myself and how much I’ve changed... still makes me cry. but also imagine how hard this shit will hit when I grow up even more and have even more profound chapters to look back on.
I tried to reply to this comment for the last 15 minutes, I've written a few versions, some very long that's gone to unnecessary details, some short, which I've felt weren't enough. I'll just say that your comment seriously identifies with my thoughts, which I have for a long time, but I could never convert them into words.
I didn’t know I wasn’t the only one who thought like this like I want to cry but not because I’m sad, but then again I am sad cuz fuck. We have to grow old, it’s beautiful but in a way still sad . I want to be forever young and spend eternity in a daydream

i met my soulmate when we were 17. We loved eachother so much, we just didnt have the same priorities and we both have trauma that doesnt fit together. I hope to see her again, we were perfect. idk why but my initial comprehension of that line was that he loves them so much that he's willing to give them gas money to get away from him, if that's what'll make them happy.

This video came back on my algorithm, found my comment again! Just got back from living in Japan for a bit. Life is changing so much, for the better 🥲. Going back to live in Japan for the fall. My dad doesn’t live in Hawaii anymore, miss him like crazy haven’t seen him since early spring.
There's something about songs like this that's so applicable to an individual that you feel alone and at the same time you're hyper aware that there are others the same way. Only difference is, every one has their own unique moment. For me it was to finally see someone again and agree with one another to take it slow because we rushed it the first time, it was something so deeply connecting.

No. You’re right. I was going through a really bad break up and chanel came out around that time and the more times i listenend to the song i knew i was gonna be okay & even better without them.
