I think the most interesting thing about the Gorosei in relation to Ohara was that at least in the anime they seemed willing to talk to Clover (we dont know if this was earnest, or part of a ruse) until it seemed like Clover was about to state the name of this ancient kingdom, at which point they immediately gave the order to attack.
Despite how it sound sin some cases in the video I don't believe The gurosei are truely malevolent. I think they truely do want to maintain a stable world free of wars and that can prosper economically (as part of their strategy to maintain the World nobles power but still). A research institute and interlects like professor Clover are a tremendous boon to such a world which I believe is why they were actually pained at ordering the buster call. Not (or not only) due to sympathy but because they saw tremendous potential in Ohara!

@@DarkHarlequin I also wonder if Imu has a play in ordering them what to do. As you said, maybe they are malevolent, but Imu orders and peer pressures them into do corrupt things. You know, when they were on the snail phone with Professor Clover, the snail phone made a noticable static sound and it was never explained or never mentioned again. Some speculate that it was Imu talking to the Gorosei.
Also, poor Kong. He's Sakazuki's direct superior, but he just ignores him and rants at the Gorosei instead.
I am pretty certain Sengoku was easier to handle and talk to as a 'subordinate' than Sakazuki :P
In fairness, we've only seen the gorosei interact with Sakazuki once and this was because of something they directly did.

I never made the connection between Moriah's attempted assassination at Marineford and the Gorosei wanting to keep his defeat at Thriller Bark a secret. That makes a lot of sense

I assumed 20 years for ope ope no mi user to master the youth surgery. Taking Trafalgar Law as reference, since Law is probably 20 years old but still has no clue about youth surgery.
So, The 5th elder would probably be dead after 80 years waitimg for his turn.
Also, I neglected the time period of finding and eating ope ope no mi fruit after previous user of ope ope had died.
Considering that period too, the time gap would be more than 80 years.
The thing that most intrigues me is that there are two Gorosei with visible scars and one with a sword. Given that any injury to a world noble results in the dispatch of an admiral, what is the story behind how they got those? Are they the remnants of a former CP0?

I think most people usually prefer groups of villains to have a leader as a main villain of that group instead of everybody just being in the same position.
Those Gorosei seems battle-aged by the looks of their moustache alone...one of them even holds a sword.

They literally say "A man of your calibre should not involve himself in world politics". And that they only made time because it was him
My theory is that they've been around since the Void Century. They helped Imu bring down the Great Kingdom. I also feel like the blonde Gorosei is a Donquixote family member.
He can't be a Donquixote because that branch of the noble family left the holy land. This is why Dofi wasn't accepted back

I think Lord Imu has the time time fruit. When you see the clip of him you realise the place heâs at is soooo bright. Just like the Holy Land of whatever itâs called. This means heâs besically always controlling time to refrain itself from darkening; rather then it being Kizurus fruit

An interesting point you made a while back is that the introduction of IM to soon makes them now appear less relevant.
I wouldn't say it makes them less relevant. From all we see IM is more like a 'king' figgure giving very broad order and not really concerned with the day to day of the OP world.
They are in effect still the people who figgure out how to implement those wishes, how to shape the world in detail and what to do in the abscence of IMs oders.

There are something more worth mentioning : the obvious inspiration of their design some of our own world's most iconic leaders.
- Gorbatchov is quite obvious
- Gandhi and Marx are also very plausible
- The long beard one might be Itagaki Taisuke, one of the most influent politician in the late 19th century in Japan and the cornerstone of the birth of democracy in that country.
- the last one could be a vague reference to Lincoln.
Assuming those inspirations are true and have a purpose, they are picked from most of the biggest powers of our world (Europe, USA, USSR, India, Japan) and chosen for they policital action that were taken towards a goal of peace, freedom and equilibrium.
Feel like that gorosei guy was probably from ohara. My opinion is they were some of the strongest back then and were going to lose to the kingdom so they signed a deal with imu and probably the demon clan to help them win the battle, which was surely intense and close. They likely discovered the ope ope no mi sometime after they held control and that is how there exists the idea that it can be used to make yourself immortal

The Five Elders might have gone through a procedure that helped slow their ages. I think they didn't go through the youth operation because they will have to look for the Ope Ope Devil Fruit 5 times after it is used. For example, Dumbledore, from Harry Potter, physically looks the same 13 years after Voldemort's first downfall due to his failed attempt to kill Harry Potter.

Itâs quite interesting to know that the five elders in fact have the power to erase an age. How they came to do it is rather questionable though. Did they massacre the people or all powerful organizations? How did they convince the minds that survived it never happened? Did they erase their memory or create new life? What is the purpose of the blank century and why is it going to happen again? Questions that will be answered soon...
Sadly itâs more similar to how it is done in the real world. Change the history books and insert a new narrative to the people.

I suspect that these Five Elders are actually the strongest warriors of the World Government and I have several points that points to my theory.
1: They have clear scars and muscles, indicating combat experience.
2: The Elder with the glasses and white kimono wields a sword that I have no doubt is Shodai Kitetsu since it bears a striking resemblance to Sandai Kitetsu and Nidai Kitetsu. This would indicate that he is strong as Tenguyama Hitetsu, the creator of Sandai Kitetsu and Ame no Habakiri stated that a weak individual cannot wield a cursed blade. All Kitetsu swords are cursed so that would indicate that he is strong.
3: Despite being Celestial Dragons they don't wear the special air filter suit associated with their lower ranked brethren. I believe the reason being that they don't do this as since they are warriors and know that those special suits are pretty much useless on the battlefield they see no reason to wear them. Plus they know those suits would eventually tear apart anyway In the heat of battle, another reason they don't see any need to wear them.
4: They are not intimidated by Shanks during their meeting with him. Akainu was clearly intimidated by Shanks during the Battle of Marineford but they weren't during their secret meeting with the Emperor of the sea.They also clearly had no security detail or Admiral present which would indicate that they believe they would have no problem taking on Shanks in a fight if talks break down.
5: The way Im trusts them with the knowledge of his or her existence indicates that there are most likely the King of the World government's most loyal servants and most likely protectors.
6: When they ask Im for permission to destroy history, it was implied that they would handle things personally meaning that they would be the ones to spearhead the operation.
7: despite being old and despite being old men during the time when Robin was a child over 20 years ago they clearly have no problem moving around and walk like people much younger than them. This would indicate that despite their old age they are at peak physical condition.
8: They are not as arrogant as the lower rank Celestial Dragons. They talk to people of a lower status than them with respect like Professor Clover and Akainu. This indicates that they're not as arrogant, showing their wisdom with age.
9: Like I said they never have a security detail like other Celestial Dragons. This would indicate that they don't feel like they need a security detail as I suspect if anyone tried to attack them they can more than hold their own.
10: Unlike most Celestial Dragons they are not cowards. They are not afraid of Akainu or Shanks while the lower rank Celestial Dragons would have probably peed their pants if they made those two very strong warriors mad.
11: They don't indulge in various vices like other Celestial Dragons. They actually run the government on a daily basis, showing strong mental fortitude that their lower ranked brother and simply don't have. They are not afraid to make difficult decisions and have strong wills.
12: It has clearly been shown time and time again that the One Piece world is a might makes right world. The leaders of respective organizations are most of the time the strongest warriors of that organization. That would indicate that since the Five Elders are the public leaders of the world government that they are the strongest warriors
These are just some of the points off the top of my head. But yeah I think they are the strongest warriors in the World Government like how the Seven Warlords and Four Emperors are the strongest warriors of their groups. I hope Oda Sensei will reveal their name soon and that they will have a bigger role in the future as I would like to collect their figures.
Just a quick reply on number 4. Iâm not implying that Akainu is stronger than shanks, but that akainu had already received heavy damage from white beard, probably wouldnât be an ideal time to get into a 1 v 1 with one of the strongest men in the world. Plus shanks arrival also means the arrival of his crew which means in context the marines have to go up against another yonko crew

Rayleigh was part of Rogers crew and is one of the few pirates or the only pirate alive to know what happened during that time. The way the author of One Piece keeps these mysteries is fascinating.

i had an inkling of a theory that Shanks could have been the reason the warlords were dissolved but then i remembered Issho specifically said that Vegapunk created something and that's why the warlords were disbanded. So it may end up being like i dunno. a perfected artificial devil fruit or something.
The warlords were dissolced because of voting by Riku, cobra and other world leaders at reverie. So, they had no option but to disband them.
