  • This battery would be retro compatible with most Sony Alpha cameras and give you two instant benefits:
    - You have to carry less numbers of batteries
    - You waste less time in swapping batteries during long shooting days

    It's nice that they are working on that because the a7cii drains more battery compare to older a7c. In one day event the a7c only last on 1 battery while the a7cii can consume 2 batteries

    Solid state lithium is significantly more power dense and though it has had growing pains (literally) when trying to scale up it is well proven in small form factors. Why every camera manufacturer isn't offering this right now is anyone's guess. Heck, even Panasonic who develops some of the leading battery tech out there is content to do the same old thing.

    Small but mighty good news! I really wish Sony will implement password security on the cameras. It does not need to activate it every time the camera is powered down but maybe by press & hold the shutter button for 5 seconds after the power switch is off so it can be a one hand operation.

  • @dirkziegler9580

    Leica did the same... upgrading their BP-SCL4 with 1.860 mAh to the BP-SCL6 with 2.200 mAh. Sonys Batteries are reasonably priced with 70 Euro. You have to spend 170 Euro for the Leica BP-SCL6!

    • @jeroenvdw
      @jeroenvdw Před 2 měsíci +1

      €70 is still expensive for a battery... You can get 3rd party batteries for €18,50 with 2600mAh. Only problem is Sony is annoying and made it so your camera recognises 3rd party batteries and gives you an annoying popup that you have to click away.

    • @dirkziegler9580
      @dirkziegler9580 Před 2 měsíci

But dSLR could be used without evf or liveview from screen.

    How about if Sony stops crapping on 3rd party batteries when they are detected in the camera body? After a recent firmware upgrade, my A7IV began issuing a warning every time I power it on with the same 3rd party batteries I’ve been using for the past couple of years. It will then stop displaying the percentage remaining after you clear the warning message. A bit annoying and petty for that to be implemented with no benefit to the end user.
