    Brilliant video, thank you for posting this. I noticed the three very large fuel tanks they were carrying. I believe the f18 can carry about 13 tonnes of fuel with them, slightly less than an Airbus 321!! Interceptors are high performance but pay a high price in efficiency. The f35, which is replacing our f18's, hold 6.3 tonnes, without tanks. This is about an hour and a bit of flying time.

    Looks like those were 409 Sqn 'Nighthawks' out of Cold Lake, Alberta. Originally formed as a night fighter squadron in WWII hence 'Nighthawks'

    Soon be F35s 88 on order

    • @alpearson9158
      @alpearson9158 Před 2 lety

      not order yet but being determined . One large problem is that f35 have a usable airspeed of only 1.3 mach. Russian bombers up to 2.05 mach still think 48 f35's and 40 or more 2 mach interceptors will be needed

      @@alpearson9158 speed dont matter when using stealth. but i would have preferred the Gripen. they were gonna make it on canadian soil, except for the brains of it. and its been cold weather tested. F-35 isn't cold weather tested

    As a Canadian, I was shocked that we still had an air force with one plane let alone four. Brits must've loaned them to us for the day.

      Just had to find that one Canadian to embarrass us. Just because we don't show off like the Americans in movies and tv shows doesn't mean our military isn't well equipped. We would have had a few F-35's by now if your boy Trudeau hadn't cancelled the deal.
