This is what happens when Joe X borrows your car to go buy a hatchet!
yeah, that could happen!
People spend thousands of dollars on fancy big knives, but deep inside everyone has always known the best bushcraft knife in the world is a hatchet and a folding saw.
i agree on the hatchet!
I have this axe and a cheap hunting knife from Decathlon inside the axe handle. It's perfect.
true
I don't even carry a folding saw if I'm carrying a hatchet. I just carry little saws-all pruning blades with duct tape grip that weigh about 1 oz each. I use them for sawing the undersides of suspended branches a little so I don't get a split running out when I chop the top side with the hatchet. Also useful for notching and gives me a backup crosscutting tool in the event I somehow lose the hatchet. I only carry a folding saw in an ultralight setup where I'm not carrying a hatchet at all.
feather sticks crave knives
I've had my X7 for roughly 10 years now... Has yet to let me down. I've had some bad times in the woods and took my anger out on downed trees, etc, with my X7... I've been on missions to destroy with it (yes - wood only, but still) and it still lives. In the budget market it's the one I stand by.
cool hatchet! next time i try baton some wood!
@@joex Right on man - sounds like a plan.
Wow! I had always wondered how tough these Fiskars hatchets actually are, especially the Steel-Plastic bond, and I must say I'm impressed.
Thank you JoeX for answering that question for me!
u are welcome, that one is a no brainer buy!
I didn't think it would last this long :) I have the x7 version myself and I'm very satisfied :) and I also ordered x10 for housework
Same bro, I was thinking it would die on a car door. That`s freaking amazing result for some little not so expensive m*therfucker.
i did a vid about the X10 !
yes! MARLBORO!
Strong one
yes! MARLBORO!
Fantastic that at least something can withstand the AUG!❤
yeah, this was amazing!
Mine is has only the Gerber name on it, bought before Fiskars took over Gerber. One of the best out there for the money & nice to see how well the head held up. Looks like Fiskars was smart enough to not only keep the line but expand it. Thanks JoeX!
did not know that, thanks for the info!
I bought my first Gerber folder in 1985 & still have it. I think it was the late 90's or early 2000's when Fiskars bought them. I haven't bought anything from them for myself since then but I still occasionally get small folders to give to my boy scouts that need one. I've never seen one fail with them but they don't use them quite as hard a Joe does. I've owned & used my Gerber axe(17" handle) for a little over 25 years & still love how it cuts.
Gerber bought their axes from Fiskars before they got bought by Fiskars 😉
actually the Gerber Axe was a Fiskars design.
I have the X25 and had very high hopes for the little X7.
Glad it did as well as it did.
it did awesome!
Awesome to see how tough my Fiskars hatchet really is.
yeah!
If you can cut up a car door and shape bricks for making the pyramids in Egypt imagine what it would do to a tree! 😂 These are great for backpacking!
indeed!
X7 convertible to an X5...epic hatchet amigo 🐝👊👍
indeed!
Jesus going to buy one of this hatchets right now. It took the GofkngPro with her before dying???
10 minutes + at the steel bar and scalped the bricko. Only Thor’s hamma perform this well!!! Thank you Joe you never disappoint even in th middle of the week.
u need one for sure!!!!
i try my best!
The hatchet head will make a nice kindling- splitting wedge.
for sure!
I got the axe version of this a few years ago to split wood. I've been very happy with it.
cool!
Wow I underestimated the x7 , now I'm sure glad I have one, I mean I liked it before but now I love it ,Thanks !
it is a good one!
Damn! Go Fiskars! Joe X proof!!
u could say that!
@joex you should know that Fiskars is made in FINLAND , says even in the axe.
i know, read the video description!
It did quite well I have to say.
The edge held up rather well at the car.
The lower part of the handle broke rather quick, but the synthetic tube is quite thinner there than the part under the head. Which makes it tougher in case of overstrikes. The end of the handle of the X10 held up longer, when you were standing on the handle. At the end of it.
Overall well done.
Fiskar's from Finland btw. Mora and Hultafors is Sweden.
i know it is from Finland, that was a test!
@@joex
😁
I'm going to do tests like that also from now on.
No I'm not.
🙃
When I want to buy anything with a blade I go to joe x for approval
cool!
glad to know my Fiskers not only good to go in tree service, but as makeshift armor plates in a pinch ! as always, good work on these results joex!
thanks. awesome for the price!
joking aside, learning the pullup weight limit on the handle, as well with longer variations, probably not a good move. which I've used my fiskers to pry up cut stumps from that same side angle. I like my axes too much to repeat this, and I'll throw the pry bar in the truck now aswell. thanks!
I have 2., both made in Finland. They are used weekly to break down firewood. After watching this I feel confident that they will outlast me. Thanks
cooL!
The Volkswagen still lives
i have a new one now!
@@joexa new one to move or to stab? 😂😂😂
Thanks!
wow, thanks a lot! super cool my friend!!!!
Correct, you now have the Fiskars X5, but without the annoying beak on the handle in "hammer-mode"
yeah, X5 it is!
Yay Joe x. I buy nothing unless tested buy Joe x.
glad to hear that!
EPIC test Brotha !!! :D
thanks a lot bro! nice to hear from you! can u throw that thing?
@@joex haha of course brother even after when you shot it and destroyed it :D
Greatest hatchet ever unquestionably. Most efficient chopper and splitter for it's weight and size, bites deep but doesn't stick, only 23 ounces, most ergonomic grip possible, excellent for carving and hewing, incredible edge retention yet doesn't chip, it's hard to imagine a way to improve it. Maybe it's not quite as suitable as an estwing for cutting through sheet metal or hammering through ballistic glass, but if I have to ruin a $30 hatchet in a once in a lifetime survival situation, whatever.
it is awesome!
한번 사보려고 하고있었는데 리뷰? 영상 잘봤어요!!
cool!
„Let‘s goohoooo!“ 🍻
vamonos!
@@joex Mennään!
Great axe; has the balance point of a wooden handle axe, but nearly the resistance of a full tang axe; great to pair with a non indestructible knife like a Buck or something. Keep up the good stuff!
thanks a lot!
Can Maybe we get a Estwing Camper hatchet torture test? Would love to see😊
check my Estwing vid!!!!
@@joex ok:)
Well here it is! Best knife for an apocalypse 😂
yeah! u could say that!
#1 selling hatchet on Amazon today. I wonder why? 🤔
haha, really?!! awesome!
Awesome video Joe X. Thanks. Great work.
thanks!
That is funny , it broke right where your hand was , just like the Eswing I broke from normal use
ok weird!
I love all my Fiskars tools!! Please try the Brush Axe, excellent tool for hacking through ANYTHING!!!
maybe !
One of the few sharp and indestructible things that exists, obviously apart from the handle
true!
Increíble la Fisckart h7 muy buena! Un saludo!🇦🇷
thanks a lot bro!
Very nice test 😉
thanks a lot!
This was great Joe. Keep up the great work!
thanks a lot!
Finland Joe, Finland. With our rivalry with the Swedes this is a hurtful subject.. 😂 the Swedes also have good axes btw.
they all speak finnish i guess!!!
My favorite bushcraft axe . The "Mora" of axes , haha !
cool!
Very strong! Great viideo!

it will burn!
My money is on Joe X, the "Duke of Demolition"
AMEN BRO!
Hey, Joe, where you go with your gun? Hey, Joe..". Jimmy Hendrix can be good background for one of your videos!🎉 I got nice Spyderco Civilian. We had a little discussion, maybe to send it to you, but actually the situation is very bad, my country declared war, and now weapons are very wanted. I think, the Spy will be my EDC for the better times. As well, as Muela Mirage.
i know that song my friend!!! thanks but keep your blades, u will need them!! stay safe!!!!
The Bauhaus survival axe ❤
cool! indeed!
Very good results for a half-plastic hatchet !
true!
Klasse, du bist echt der Knaller! 👍
Schöne Grüße, Gedankengeist 👻
thanks a lot bro!
Good to know my Fiskers Axe 🪓 will be good to go in the Zombie apocalypse. 😂
it can take some Z down!
It looks like a great ax👍 awesome video like always.
thanks a lot!!!
Too bad they discontinued the original X10!! It took me some time to fall in love with the X7, but I have... so I bought a second one. These are rare tools in that not only do they easily achieve a razor's edge and bite super deep, because of their unique head shape, the Fiskars X7 is also an excellent splitting tool for small wood. I believe part of the tool's efficiency comes from the coating which is a help in both cutting and splitting. These are super light, lighter than many sheath knives, and with such a short handle, they pack well into a day pack.
My only minor complaint is that the edge cover they are provided with are enormous plaques of plastic and much too big and insecure to put in a pack. One has to make a more realistic, secure and small edge cover with old plastic and a heat gun.
I'd been looking forward to this one as I wondered how much abuse the head/handle interface could take. Thanks for all your work; I could tell you were putting serious effort into trying to wreck it. This is what makes your tests different from all the rest and so valuable to us all.
i like those fiskars hatchet, for the price unbeatable i think! cheers my friend!
Love the dungeon scenes. 🙀😸
Tick tock tick tock, time is slipping towards the point of no return
yes! MARLBORO!
Hi,i have x7,x11 splitting axe,A16 long handle universal axe, very good axe in every situation, and is made in Finland
ok cool!
fantastic!
yes! MARLBORO!
Fiskars seems much tougher and capable than some of those 300€ chopper knives... Like my extrema ratio ks kukri... oh well 😅
thats true!
The 25 year warranty also speaks for itself, of course only for intended use.
so i wil get a new one then!
Bravo 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏
yes! MARLBORO!
Awesome performer on the budget side of life, amigo! 🍻
With hickory handle it would be perfect for some gymnastics 😉
You can not have enough axes at home or in the car, if something is to be felled on the road 😂
I immediately ordered one for the car, it gets along well there with the CS Brooklyn Crusher 🍻
awesome, Baseballbat and hatchet, perfect combo agains the demonstraters....
@@joex 🍻
Bring it on amigo...
yes! MARLBORO!
Slay it!
will do!
Joe x needs to turn this business into a convert your car into a convertible
yeah!!!
Awesome hatchet, i have it with camo tape on the handle, so the aspect is very tactical 😅

Frickin fuckin awesome

I have x7 good little axe
cool!
i thought machete jungle was your edc knife...
one of a view!
The definition of work hardened.
exactly!
Always a pleasure watching you "solve" them all. 😄👍
yes! MARLBORO!
Reality is all you need is a Fiskars axe, a Mora, and a Victorinox with scissors and you have better outdoor hardware than 99% of people no matter how much they spend.
good choices!
The handle is like my head. Hollow. Butt does it absorb the impact aka recoil?
yes absorbs all!
Haha - you sir, are a madman! I have one of those hatchets and I can now see why there is a lifetime warranty on fiskar's products. They probably rarely have to send a replacement.
I'm glad it was your camera that took the ricochet hit and not your face.
And I couldn't tell if you were wearing ear protection, but I really hope so. Those shots must be deafening in that small tunnel.
What was the original purpose of that tunnel anyhow?
thats classified sorry!!!!
Schon übel, aber nicht so schlimm dass ich mir denke jetzt dreht'er komplett durch

Ontario Knives Renger RD6 (okc Knives ), I didn't mean the robot from the Star Wars movie
aha ok, thanks!
YAAAAAH
yes! MARLBORO!
you should try zombie tool blades
i know!
The grip on my mora camping axe(hatchet) is not very grippy, but somehow still gives good control and eats vibrations.
So it's pleasant to use unless I try to grip it hard and go very fast.
After some oak, it didn't shave anymore though, I had to spend a moment on the leather strop.
ok cool!
Fiskars macht gute Äxte👍
stimmt!
@3:07 my new ringtone 😂
haha, dödöro, awesome!
there a great finish made hatchet i got this one good lite wait edc wilderness hatchet i only wish they had a leather hip belt sheath
ok cool!
Do magnacut Joe X!
it is another name for AUS8 !!! dont be fooled!
@@joex I looked at their steel composition and they're different though
the thing is indestructible - if it had a replaceable handle it would be a immortal - after you killed el bricko i was worried for the iron rod :-)
yeah, this one is a good one!
You squeezed that handle to hard, my friend. Again!!! 😁💪👏
That hatchet need a better handle. I was expecting some failure near the head, after the shooting i understand why didn't broke there.
Nice (another) one, Joe!!!👏👏👏 Thank's man!!!🍻🍻🍻
the end of handle should be a bit tougher!!!
@@joex 👍
Fan boy alarm!!!

Will there be an Ontario RD6 review? If possible
R2D2 from Star Wars!

that was funny actually.
Zero resistance there.
Not suitable for sideway pressure on the lower part of the handle.
thanks a lot!!!!
I have similar hatchet, but- Edward. It was cheaper, so I bought that. There was periods in three years, when I used it for splitting wood and it's ok. I wonder if cheaper Edwards has the same toghtness as Fiskars.
never heard of Edwards!

haha, yeah!
I had one of these a few years ago. The edge was very sharp, but made of a very soft steel. Have they updated the steel?
i think same steel!
Oh Shit, Frau Schmidt :)
