Brilliant. I've been struggling for a few weeks now, trying to make a dowel jig out of a hardwood block and a wood chisel and never could get it right. This is a much better jig, so I think this will be the solution for all my struggles.

An excellent project, even without any threaded inserts!
When dowels are glued into blind holes there needs to be a relief channel for the excess glue to escape - now you need to make a jig to hold the dowel rod against a sander or table saw to make a flat edge or groove.

As always, the idea and execution are wonderful ! I wonder if, rather than using a different "cheek" for differing sizes retained washers of differing internal dimensions could be used instead ? Using a stepped receiving hole to accommodate different external dimensions with the smallest being the deepest and the larger diameters used as retainers as needed. Just a thought = ) Thank you for teaching and sharing your wonderful mastery in such a relaxing manner !

¡Hola!
    Saludos y bendiciones.

Good job, look quite nice. Please consider upgrade the jig by useing hex head screws and make for them holes in plywood, then use butterfly nuts. It should speed up the change over of the jigs for different sizes. Morover, you won't need tools for change over.
