@@fefyfona4318 I believe you meant reboot with Silent Hill Shattered Memories' plot, because Shattered Memories does not reimagined Silent Hill 1's plot the way the recent Resident Evil remakes of 2's plot, 3's plot, and 4's plot did. It seems Silent Hill Shattered Memories' plot definitely had a more reboot take than reimagining like DMC Devil May Cry.

I can tell you that looking at the maps, items and documents in game, in real time is a pretty cool, and unique choice. Its such a small thing but I was really impressed with the style of it.

This transmission showcases the remake *way better* than the actual trailers. Perhaps they should rethink their marketing strategy by focusing more on the atmosphere. That is what "Silent Hill 2" is known for.

I feel so bad for Blooper team. They should’ve been made to remake Silent Hill 1 and go from there with feedback and experience. Diving straight into Silent Hill 2 is dangerous and fans will always brutally compare it to the original.

@@lf3552 SH2 fans are a whole different breed man. Bloober Team could literally just release the exact same game and SH2 fans would complain that the fog isn't as foggy or James doesn't swing a plank of wood in the same way. They will never be happy.

Yeah but even then blooper team just was not the team for this people already don’t hold them in high regard in comparison yo there older stuff and looking at this game I don’t blame them it has very similar feel to there other games and there’s just some weird jank that should not be there for how far along this games supposed to be. It looks good in some areas more then in others plus they changed some things around that I don’t think needed to be and I’m not even a die hard fan so I know the ones who are will have a field day with this .

An enormous step up from everything shown before. Exactly how a horror game should be. Slow, exploration, examining items, story beats, and short bursts of combat that tests your skills and keeps you on edge

The way they introduce the Lying Figure now when you first find the radio, it feels so generic. I can't believe they messed up something this iconic.

I think this F is something related with music note or tone. "Forte" I guess
I LOVE IT. I love the awkward combat lol the original had the same exact thing and it just adds to the charm for me.

Okay SH 2 is looking better than I expected. It doesn't have to be perfect but dang it's looking far better now.

The voice acting and their lines is what get me worried, specially the changes they did on Angela and Laura character's nature.
Angela sounds like an IA assistant and Laura acts like a school bullying teenager. Can't help to think about Leon and Ashley from original RE4. 😖
Its not faithful at all “faithful remake” is just a way to get desperate nostalgic fake fans to buy their product and sell copies. Removing the fixed camera proved it isnt “faithful” they broke their promise day 1.
First encounter in a house. I think I prefer the original.
It is still a faithful remake. Some changes are made to reflect the idea of what if Silent Hill 2 was actually made in the 2020s, not the early 2000s, the same way with Resident Evil 2 and 4. An example of an unfaithful remake would be Final Fantasy VII Remake by deviating to some kind of a sequel story.

I respect christoph gans, he seems like he truly cares about this franchise, also SH 2 remake is actually looking good, I am still being cautiously optimistic, I hope it turns out good....
I still can't forgive him for what he did to Cybil in the first movie.
But also consider that in 2006, he didn’t write and he was forced to make expressions at the behest of producers. The new movie has him in much more creative control IIRC
Since you mentioned Christophe Gans, I want to find out what film critics will say about Return to Silent Hill, hopefully this film comes out in October too and the next thing I'm expecting is a trailer.
Everything they showed for the film looks spot on for the game... eeexxxccceept.. Maria's wig looks pretty cheap.

It will never beat the OGs, but I am very excited for this. Other than a couple nitpicks, I think they did a great job. Very faithful as well!
If it comes out good, I feel like it's gonna be like RE 2 or 4 remakes. They're amazing, but can never replace the og.
They messed up the first time you encounter the lying figure, when you find the radio. It feels so generic now. Graphics are great, but that's all.

The biggest letdown is the abscence of Inventory. On the positive side the have fixed James's face, sound effects and removed the quicktime prompts.

I think they have but have forgotten what elements made silent hill 2 a masterpiece. Seeing all these fake fans not talking about them removing the Fixed Camera makes me sad, they ruined the game day 1, “faithful remake” is a lie.

Well, that turned out about exactly as I expected.
I'm so happy there was some gaming! The settings are gorgeous and evocative.
I just wonder why they didn't hire Guy Cihi again to play James. He WAS James Sunderland, he was so authentic and so perfect for the role, he just simply became him. Oh well...
I just wanna say this: team Bloobler has GIGANTIC SHOES to fill in: Silent Hill 2 remains as the best iteration of psychological horror ever made and I'm hoping this game can be AT LEAST on par to it.
I ain't pre-ordering (pre-ordering is for idiots), I honestly want to see if it's truly worth my money. I'd hate buying a game that shattered my expectations from one of my all-time favorite games ever so yeah, let's wait and see.

I think it looks amazing! Has the authentic Silent Hill feeling to it in pretty much everything that I saw: Sounds, the way the town looks, enemy design, the way the vocalize their lines...uhhh....holes. I also loved what they added on top of what was in the OG.

Is it just me or this game does look inconsistent. In some areas it looks great, in some it looks bad. Fps looks below 30. Animation and textures need a little bit of work. I hope it is better than what they showed today. They have time to fix things until release.
