      Where I'm from, you either buy online or from vendors who sell extremely expensive stuff. You have a budget for a ryzen 5 or an I5 and they'll tell you to buy mid to high end components (if you're a newbie). If they think you actually know stuff about computers or you tell them specifically what you need, they'll give you a small discount. Also, no combo deals or refurbished components (that you can trust).

    The Montech X3 Mesh is my personal favorite budget case on the market right now and arguably one of the best under $100. I've personally built in it with both a Ryzen AM4 motherboard and an Intel LGA 1700 motherboard, and building in it was really nice. You may need to redo a bit of the cable management behind the back panel with the 6 daisy chained fans and everything, but it has great airflow, great aesthetics and looks, comes with 6 free fans, has ample room for triple fan graphics cards, and the RGB on the fans actually looks really nice. It's also fairly light while still being good quality material having a tempered glass side panel, and that tempered glass side panel is really easy to open or remove since you don't need to worry about any screws whatsoever.
    All in all, it's an awesome case and it's easily available for under $60 most anywhere. The only real downsides of the case are needing to spend a bit of time with the cable management to make sure everything fits, and that there are some high end graphics cards that aren't going to be able to fit unless you're buying an Nvidia Founder's Edition model of one.

    I don't like 2 point Cooler fixings preferring 4 point fixings so that has put me off it.
    I'm sure 2 point fixing is fine otherwise it wouldn't have been sold for years and years, just in my head 2 points create a potential rocking point whereas 4 equal torqued points (almost) guarantees equal pressure across the entire block.

    Going with the 6750XT was a great choice but apart from getting a better case for cooling, spending a bunch of a limited budget on an AIO and cable extensions was not a good choice because the CPU should've been upgraded to avoid bottlenecks. Since the most demanding thing the PC is being used for is gaming, if you're upgrading the power supply, it would've made more sense to upgrade the CPU from Zen 2 to Zen 3 by going with a Ryzen 5600 for $110 and used the remaining $20 to get a good cheap air cooler or just use the Wraith Stealth bundled with the 5600.
    That being said, there wasn't really any need to change out the PSU at all. It's an 80+ Gold unit with 600W/50A on the 12V rail, good internals (comparable to other mid-range units) and it is way more than plenty for a Ryzen 5 or 7+6750XT as that combo will only pull 350W sustained or 400W at its absolute peak under max load so it's not even close to pushing the existing PSU. I would've kept the PSU and swapped out the CPU for a Ryzen 5 5700X3D as it's the best value gaming CPU on AM4 and one of the best value gaming CPUs period.
    Kinda missed the mark on this one but this is a great series so thumbs up. :)

    I try to play along and the best i could come up with was same graphics card for $359, a 5700x3D for $192, and see if they have a cheap or returned PSU for the last $50. If not then a 5700x for 165 and a decent PSU. But that means no cpu cooler.
    Yeah, i could see sticking with that 3700 for that budget. Its a tough budget.

    lol, atleast this season people are spinning different amounts. Wasn't it last season that everyone kept spinning $800? Also maybe an idea, if you spin and get the smallest amount then allow them to spin again and they have to take whatever the 2nd spin gets, could make it more exciting for them.

      There's always at least ONE 5700X3D comment 😂 For the price of the chip alone in-store, it makes no sense. A 5700X3D bundle costs as much as the chip by itself, but he didn't need the bundle.

      I was at Charlotte Microcenter 2 weeks ago and just left there 1 hour ago. The price was $179 2 weeks ago and they had 4 units on the shelf and today they have no units on shelf and $189 price. This guy already had a 3700x so spending what he did on GPU was the best bang for buck upgrade with the 600 budget. In the future he could go 5700x3d and go like 7900gre or 4080 super and not be bottlenecked.

  • @BladeCrew

    He can sell the 1660TI and put a little extra money in and maybe upgrade to a ryzen 5 5600X3D(Micro Center only cpu) or ryzen 5 5700X3D. That way he can get the most of his card without having to upgrade the motherboard and ram, just need a bios update.

    If this was me I would have went for the 7600xt and skipped the PSU upgrade and worried about it later. Grabbed a 2x16GB ram kit and upgrade to the 5700x. If it went over I'd just pay the difference out of pocket. I don't know Micro Center's exact pricing but I imagine that would have fit in the $600 window.
    Otherwise, I would have just gotten the refurb 3080Ti and any extra warranty they may offer and then undervolted the 3080Ti until I could get a better PSU if it was an issue lmao. 1660 Ti's can still get a good $50 used so just a little on top and boom new PSU for cheap.
    Also for context: my current build is a Ryzen 1800x, GTX 1660, 32GB DDR4

    I don't know what MC is charging, but for gaming with what he already has + $600, I'd buy a 5700X3D and a 7700XT and call it a day.

    • @GregSalazar
      @GregSalazar  Před měsícem

      7700XT wipes out more than 2/3 of his budget. Add a 5700X3D and he's slightly _over-budget_ without addressing his power supply. He could probably get away with not upgrading it, but given the make and model, I'd be pushing for something more durable and with more headroom. This path also completely ignores the hotbox case and underwhelming CPU cooler - both of which he tackled here. There's nothing wrong with a 3700X in my book.

    • @rangersmith4652
      @rangersmith4652 Před měsícem

      @@GregSalazar The 3700X is a good CPU, for sure. But I'm assuming the goal was to get max performance for the money (which apparently wasn't Yonny's exact goal). I looked at prices in PCPartpicker before I posted, and the total for a 5700X3D ($193) and a 7700XT ($370) would be $563, leaving enough for a better CPU air cooler like a Peerless Assassin. I didn't check MC pricing. I get your point about the PSU and the case, but both are almost certainly good enough for a 5700X3D / 7700XT build, which is going to run fairly cool, relatively speaking.

    The pc world needs more radeon users. Im using a rx 6700 xt and for the 250 bucks i paid in may 2023 this card has been so nice. I play at 1440p and i can run my games at high settings for frames between 70-150 fps depending on the games. But over the years it has only been improving and to be honest the driver utility software from radeon is a lot more user friendly and looks cleaner in my opinion as well. AMD has a lot to offer for the price and is very competitive towards nvidia

    You made a great choice on the case. Do other countries offer Dark Flash cases? Kuz those are really on the cheaper side, but have a very close to premium feel when you finish building your system. I use the DLX 21. That is a beefy case if you are into cramming things in. I got it to fit 12 fans. It can fit 13 (120mm) if you wanna. But I currently use 6 140mm and 4 12mm.
