Something similar happened in an episode of SVU. Guy has a one-night stand with an abortion doctor, and he bashed her head in when he had a drunken fit of insanity.
Love Jerry Orbacch's character Lenny Briscoe. What a pity he's no longer with us. Very sad.
Lenny is a beast actor...miss him ..arrg
This one was a very baffling case. The victims, had no enemies. Only person they screwed over in business thought they did him a favor.
In my hometown, guy got so wasted. He lived three blocks away from the bar get to the wrong house and the owner is so freaked out he shoots the kid dead

Good episode
The suspect can plead insanity due to intoxication. But would a jury accept this as an excuse in the case of a murdered couple. And, this couple was murdered at home...
I hope there's another clip from this because I am so confused as to how this kid fits in or what psychotic break caused him to murder two people. I assume he thought they were his parents? How did they narrow down the list to him? What fire hydrant?!
He was in the neighborhood driving from the party. They hit the fire hydrant a block from his old house. He walked "home" after having a blackout and not aware of things -- subconsciously he goes through his old window and maybe he thought about killing his parents and while drunk, he accidentally ended up killing the wrong people that were living in his old house.
He was abused at home when he was younger, so he thought he was killing his abusers in his mind
Based on the real murderer, Paul Cox who killed a couple the Charvus, while he was black out drunk.

Didn't they pull a print from the scene? I mean ... just run his prints.
you need a warrant to obtain the prints, plus it costs money to run the test so you need to have some form of suspicion to run the prints
The entire reason the ADA talked to the judge was to get approval to fingerprint him to run it against the prints on the bed and window. They couldn't just fingerprint him for no reason. He was a suspect but had not been arrested as they had no physical evidence that he'd been there. Unless someone has been arrested or is known to have reason to have been present at the scene (such as all of the contractors, maid, etc. that they DID get prints from) then the police can't just take their fingerprints.

Its a spoiler, but dude was abused by his parents for years. The actors performance of a regression (however realistic) was devastating. I can't see how people who go through that dont completely snap.

Can you imagine being so drunk that you kill somebody and not remember doing it.. well around my Direction they were so drunk that they drove their truck into the lake.. somebody else told me that there might be a boat at the bottom of the lake.. and another car at the bottom of that Lake.. because these people got so drunk they sank the boat and floated the car into the lake..

Seems to me blacked out drunk plus concussion, in childgood home, sees strangers, freaks out like a little kid would, but is mansized kills them, runs off like a little kid.

I hate this episode. You would kill your mother if you hated her for not protecting you from the violent, abusive parent. Honestly, mom deserves to die more than dad just because she said nothing. I wouldn't have convicted this guy just for that reason.
