  • The screws we used: amzn.to/3VThFKs
We added underskinning to a pontoon boat using 4' x 4' aluminum signs that we picked up at the local metal scrap yard. This has resulted in a significant reduction in drag by stopping pontoon spray from hitting the cross members and wood floor.
These are the screws we used to connect the signs to the aluminum cross members on the pontoon boat. This installation has held up well over the years since we installed it.

@@TuscanyJack so far so good, hit the lake 6 times and the saltwater bay twice holds well diverts the water and was cheap.

I like the repurposed signs idea. Where do I find some?

We found those at a metal scrapyard. It was a pay by the pound facility, so you drive in and weigh, choose what you want, then weigh again the way out. Aluminum is typically a little higher than steel.

    Hello
Nice video. Been thinking of skinning our 1998 24ft Grumman. Question. It looked like you didnt skin the sides like I have seen on other skin jobs. Is that right or just the way the toons sit ? If right ,did not skinning the gaps make much difference ?
    THanks
