  • The apical 4 chamber view is one of the most commonly performed views in point of care ultrasound. This demo will show you how to locate the apical window and how the transducer should be positioned and manipulated in order to obtain an optimal image. Learn how to optimize your image by positioning the transducer to find the best echocardiogram view of the ventricular.
Prof. Thomas Binder, MD demonstrates how to position the patient and which direction to place the transducer to look for the heart. From this demonstration, we can see the ventricle in its full length including the apical 4 chamber view: left ventricle, right ventricle, right atrium and left atrium. We can also see multiple views of the ventricle by manipulating the transducer. The optimal echocardiogram view will clearly show the left ventricle image because that is all you need to estimate left ventricle function.
