This song is a deep cry. It’s like a hopeless prayer. Chester was suffering and his art was incredible because he connects us to his pain.

Losing Chester was the toughest loss I've ever experienced when it comes to celebrities/artists. His music changed my life and made me who I am. Great job.
Chris was top of my list Chester sealed it. After Chris, Chester seemed to stand alone, alongside a very few who also stand apart. Dave and Eddie, stand tall and long, your presence and continued input are more needed than is apparent and valuable than can be conveyed. And violet the way you hands the music these legends left for us is moving to say the least, and one couldnt say enough. Moar i say!
i didn't listen to lp after the third album because their music didn't jive with my taste anymore but i still was devastated when he died. the only celebrity death i ever cried over.
Losing Chris hurt, losing Chester was worse for me. He found a way to put words to the war in my head
I feel you. That day I had their songs stuck in my head until I found out then pure silence. It was sad, disturbing and heartbreaking to me. I felt like I lost a friend
I still have trouble listening to Linkin Park after his suicide. I have enough trouble staring into the abyss without other people setting an example for me.
The original version feels like it captures the transition from being angry, to bring sad. This version feels like the next stage, where all the anger is gone, and all that's left is bitter sadness.
R.I.P Chester.

I miss Chester... Myself, a grown ass man, cried like a baby in the parking lot of a Japanese steakhouse the day I found out he was gone. (Edit) He was a part of my life from the third grade. Chester was able to put words to the emotional conflict I was experiencing as a teen. He was able to give me someone to relate to when I felt the pain of feeling alone when I had no friends. He helped me express the things that I couldn't figure out how to express on my own.
Chester felt like a friend to me, even though I never met him and he had no idea I even exist.
He was there when I went through my first real, devastating breakup. He was there when a friend of mine ended his own life and I needed to process the loss of a 16 year old male classmate. He was there when I felt lost trying to figure out who I was, and he was there when I finally met who I was as an adult.
I hope you found peace, Chester.
I feel I can speak for all of us when I say we love you, and we miss you, brother.
He was a massive part of music I still love, I love the contrast between pure voice and scream but the feeling behind it all was what got me. There are few that can compare, it shouted to a clinical depressive. Angry at the world, angry at themselves and with no clue how to "fix" it. The music was a release valve. It still is.
I was listening to Violet with tears running down my face and snotted up to buggery. They were manly tears, I'm pushing 50 so I'm allowed to do that. Snotting on the beard (which I've had for 20 years longer than it was "the thing") is messy and requires much washing so I should stop that.

voice, and the raspy screaming voice. Evert song I listened on Hybrid Theory blew me away. As Iistened to Violet's version, I wasn't crying, but I felt sad, thinking about him
being so depressed he decided to commit suicide. I'm 44, and allowed my self to feel that. I don't tell my friends what Chester and the other guys in Linkin Park meant to me when I was in my early 20's listening to this album repeatly on my CD player while in my room in my parent house. As I got older, and discovered other alt-metal
bands, I still listened to Likin Park. Chester Bennington was one of the good ones, gone too soon.

I supposed to go to work bu instead took a day off and listened Linkin Park all day. 2 years past since and still my tears are dropping whenever I hear a Linkin Park song. i always loved chesters voice and the music he made, i was banging my head to linkin park playin loud on my parents stereo when i was young, not caring bout neighbours. I love metal music, but linkin park was some kind of special. Listening to this awesome song made me cry and remembering chester singing it. Thx violet Orlandi for making this wonderful Cover. I miss Chester. LP came to South Africa in 2012 and unfortunately I missed them. I missed a once in a lifetime opportunity and I really miss him. The morning I read the news in 2017, it felt like losing a good friend and I still get emotional when listening to their music. They were my heroes growing up.

I'm still mourning Chester, but hearing a feminine cover makes me remember how important this was for me accepting myself and coming out as a trans woman. Except in the end it does matter. Living authentically is really freeing, but I had to try so hard to get so far in so many steps to get there. Linkin Park wasn't me, but they helped me see me.
That just makes me realize how much I'd love to have Violet's voice. Also, from one trans woman to another, even though we don't know each other, know I support you.
