Oh man this challenge would be HELL in Portal 2, the command that lets you place portals anywhere also exists in that game.

Fun fact -- you can actually break the glass in the rocket turret puzzle by throwing an object at it in just the right way!! The rocket turret also activates automatically if you manage to break the first pane of glass without activating it

If I could recommend a challenge for Portal 2, it would be the Companion Challenge.
Basically, you use commands to summon an item which you need to bring throughout the game. You are allowed to drop it, but you must get the next checkpoint holding it.
Oooo, that sounds fun. in addition to this run, I'd probably try and deactivate all fizzlers so that I didn't have to worry about the object being destroyed.
@@MysticFlameYT if you use the command ‘ent_create npc_personality_core’, this will create a Wheatley you can grab and interact with. And this Wheatley is the one which peaks in the chambers (the one you can grab). So it shouldn’t get fizzled, if I’m correct.

So, me and members in my discord found that anytime the game loads, you lose anything you're holding. So, this challenge will be done in Portal instead(with a command to disable fizzlers).
@@MysticFlameYT i think there are mods for portal 2 to disable that, or you could just resummon it
Another way more complicated way to abide by the challenge rules is to decompile every map, swap up the textures so that white walls become non white, and non- white walls are black walls
Yeah I don't have the know how to do something like that, lol.
Im pretty sure the original (not decompiled) map files were leaked like forever ago

That's not quite the same because you then can't shoot portals where white and non-white overlap, like you could in the video's version.

11:18 You can throw a chair in such a way that it actually shatters the glass, and you can also use the chair like the cube to get to the vent.

the pieces that fell off of the cube dropper can actually work on the button. you could probably find a way to push them there

Who told you? Lol, the real reason was that not all non portal walls were black.
Some were much easier than thought. For example in 4:40, you can just shoot the ground as it's part of the brown wall and not portalable usually

Did this myself blind before watching the video, I did not allow half white wall placements in my run.
2:12 - here i just caught the cube before it fell in the hole
2:36 - found this test to not be possible
6:33 - good solution, I couldn’t figure this one out as I didn’t know the elevators walls were straight enough that you could portal on them.
7:32 - i think i did some out of bounds stuff on this one but I don’t remember if it worked or if I ended up skipping
10:40 - my first thought with this was to take the companion cube through ti here but the button wasn’t coded to be triggered by cubes lol

Fun fact, the wall does not have to be white for you to place a portal going off of portal logic. The wall just has to be a radiated.

How'd you rotate the cup at 0:04?
In Portal 1, if you are holding something and press left click and e at roughly the same time, you can throw that object farther than normal. That was me messing up that kind of throw, so I basically threw it and immediately grabbed it again.

i tried it myself before watching, i couldnt beat chamber 3 so i skipped it. i gave up on chamber 14. also, i thought "portal standing" was called "portal peeking"
Portal peeking is what he did when he failed his portal stands - where you place the same portal multiple times to move it across the level, then backing out to be behind the other colour of portal before it lands

Would it be possible to get a turret from the previous room to shoot GLaDOS, skipping the rocket turret in the final bossfight entirely and just requiring you to grab the cores?

At 1:21 placing a portal there im pretty sure would be possible because on the GLaDOS boss fight you can do something familiar to that right under GLaDOS, but this is basically perfect

pretty sure it's impossible
Edit: physics objects can also be affected by sv_gravity so cubes wont drop from cube droppers
