Love Mr. Mullin! Would love to hear more. On a stranger note, I've got a pet theory that the ancient Mesopotamians (beginning in Sumer) had a similar internal-alchemy based practice. In my feeling it was syncretized by Tyrian Phoenicians into an actual system that was likely a secret royal, aristocratic or priestly practice. Melquart, a.k.a. the Tyrian Heracles, (Herakles = Vajrapani) would be the a rough equivalent of a yidam. The deities of the Sumerian pantheon are arranged on a body just as one would find in Kalachakra (i.e. the clear explanation) into 4 zones of Ba'al (navel), Yam (heart), Triple Goddess (throat), and Mot (head).

I do understand what he says, but the problem is that often students are also very damaged and vulnerable people, and teachers should be the better persons, afterall they're representing the Dharma!

Glenn’s comments regarding the victims of Sogyal Rinpoche are reprehensible. I don’t think it’s healthy for the Dharma to blame the victims for a teacher’s abuses.
It's easy to misinterpret those comments because unless it's the usual angry "how dare he!" people often think it's in defense of the abuser. As someone who 'allegedly' committed a similar crime and had to spend tens of thousands of dollars and have the good karma to get out of that situation or else face 15+ years in prison, people SHOULD be willing to say "I don't know" and keep an open mind instead of dismissing someone based on what they're being accused of. Have an open heart and an open mind because you never know who is actually innocent when it's he said she said. Remember accusations are not facts. Thank you Glenn for not following the current trend to think that anybody accused of crimes of that nature are 100% guilty. You'll never know when it's he said she said and if you're wrong about who you support, you're in support of someone's life being ruined. Nobody looks at accusations with a critical eye until they've been in that kind of a situation.
To add to that, an impressive number of people have cluster B personality disorders, many of whom lack any empathy and it only takes one of these people to ruin a person's life. You won't know who until it's you.
Glenn does what lamas do --- excuses the hideous abuses of lamas (lamaism at its worst), blaming the victims of abuse for their lack of understanding vajrayana. This is what corrupt lamas do. Mullin defends the notorious and cruel abuser of his students, especially women students, the most vulnerable... He defends one of the very worst of the lot, Sogyal. And the interviewer fails to confront Mullin at all on this issue.
