I actually enjoyed the myplayer version of NBA Live a ton. Pretty fun with friends especially since it wasnt hurting our pockets
Haven't really cared about NBA 2K in ages, but I recently got back into Live 19. I always thought it was an underappreciated gem despite its flaws and consistently have more fun playing it than any 2K in recent memory.
It's good to see other people also revisiting older basketball games; they're tired of the stranglehold 2K has on basketball.

Been an NBA Live player actively since 2004 and an EA Basketball player since 1989. I would love to see a new version come out. I'm still playing Live 19. It's my favourite of the recent releases. More enjoyable than 2K23 and 2K24.

Had EA not taken us for granted they would still be the main basketball game on consoles.
I used to purchase EA Sports NBA Live every year back then. But at some point EA was barely improving the game on a yearly basis and 2K came out with a much better product.
Furthermore, we were lucky EA couldn't (or didn't) purchase the NBA license to prevent other companies from making better NBA games (the way they did with Madden vs ESPN NFL 2K5).
In the end, when there's a better product available, the bad game dies out.
Hopefully EA learned their lesson and they come back with a game that will give 2K a run for their money.
All live need is some good content creators to get the younger crowd
I don't think the 2k players and Madden players care if there are microtransactions, I think it's just that we want good games and the competition that would force them to make better games
2k signed a deal with the nba so its gonna be very hard for competition now also 2k don’t care about us no more
Tf we don’t.. micro transactions are fine they are in every game but when it gets to the point where it’s 20 dollars for a pair of pants.. 50 dollars just to get your player to a 87 overall.. plus another 20 to make sure he gets to 99. Not to mention if your build doesn’t come out right or they patch what your build is good at, you either have to make a new build or play at a disadvantage
And that’s not even the end of it 😂 if you’re a small guard you have to spend money on boost for stamina, there’s all different animations, the season pass, I mean it’s crazy. If you genuinely want to have fun on 2k you have to spend a lot of money on the game. 2k will go down in history as the most expensive game to play of all time

Live was going to drop a free to play game this year where they would jist update it per year instead of the yearly release. But the NBA shut it down bet2k would lose too mich money. From the reports i read.

There story mode was bad back then cut Scene wise but 2k24 are pretty much the same
I think since because lives look was before it’s time before said it LOOKED bad when in all reality it just played a lil funny but with some tweaks is actually kind of nice because when 2k was transitioning to this type of look people called me crazy but this doesn’t look to far off from a last gen 2k as far as on court looks go and I’m happy people are starting to realize what they had

To me they had a better defensive logic then 2k, 2k rewards you no matter what, if I’m a lockdown I can steal no matter what, live if you chose to defend the wrong way you get beat(crossed) if you defend the right way, your defending dude an you cutt off the way he’s going an he doesn’t counter, you can get an easier steal, contested shots cannot be green releases which I strongly agree with, not saying you shouldn’t make the shot but you should never shoot 100% on 100% contested shots unless you are going against players with absolutely no defense
People are always complaining to 2k about what to improve and how NBA live is better but trust me if y’all played NBA live for a month then you guys would deadass appreciate 2k.
So don’t, play each for two weeks and jus alternate you thinking too much my boy this one of them instances where you can have your cake and eat it too just enjoy yourself

We NEED competition in sports games. Micro transactions are inevitable now no way around it but we need competition so these companies try and one up each other and make solid games. NBA live needs to come back and NFL 2k needs to come back. As well as MLB 2k needs to come back to make MLB the Show actually change the product. Can only wish.

They wouldn't make you spend money on this today. I've been playing fifa pro clubs since fifa 10 and not once have I had the option to spend money on my own player.
