  • The Air 3 has great image quality despite having a smaller sensor than the Air2s, but how does it compare to the Mavic 3???

    The Air 3 definitely has an amazing system. However, it seems to be that it's a little on the darker side and doesn't allow the fine detail of the Mavic 3. Beautiful video and comparisons.

      I definitely agree. I think there's only so much you can squeeze out of a 1/1.3 sensor when compared to the micro 4/3s on the Mavic 3.

      @@WIHRC have been debating with myself on getting either of these amazing drones or the Mavic 3 Pro. As of now, leaning towards the Mavic 3 Pro.

    great comparison. Mavic 3 sensor is obviously superior to Air3 , dynamic range is way superior on mavic3 video, also more detailed. Sensor size does mattter here.

    Great video man, this is exactly the comparison i was looking for as i am in the process of deciding which one to get. I'M A photographer and have a Canon 5d mk3 full frame, so I can right away pick off which one is the mavic 3 because of the obvious difference in dynamic range and the overall more pleasing image it produces. I for the last two years have been using my DJI MINI 2 and have been very pleased with the video quality, but the photos are not great and even at iso 100 and shooting in raw there is still lots of noise in the image. I live just north of Toronto, Canada and just 3 days ago passed my exam to fly drones over 250 grams. I can't afford to get the rc pro controller at 1200.00 Canadian if I decide to go with the Mavic 3 pro but I Have heard of big problems with the rc 1 controller such as poor conection and distance, overheating, screen dimming because of the overheating and sluggish overall performance. The air 3 rc 2 controller has solved all the above problems but doesn't have that Hasselblad quality video and photography. I'm 65 years old and plan on retiring at the end of this year. I would like to do some real-estate, wedding or comercial photography and video. I have two questions #1-how good is the rc-1 controller, do you lose connection easily, is it sluggish, does it overheat and reduce sceen brightness. # 2- Do you think in post through reducing contrast and or lifting the shadows you can bring the air 3 video up to the mavic 3 pro's quality ? Any help regarding which drone to get would be greatly appreciated as in early April I will be getting one or the other. Thanks, Craig

      So I've been using the RC 1 for quite some time and although it isn't the fastest controller out there, i still feel like its a completely viable solution for flying the Mavic 3. I had the chance to get the PRO controller but ultimately decided against it due to the fact that id only be using it with the Mavic 3. i have been able to find it cheaper but i still cant bring myself to pick one up, especially given the fact that its heavier and bulkier. I have only completely lost connection once while i was in the mountains (probably due to minerals or something) but it was only for about 5 seconds. The RC 1 hasn't been so slow that it ruins the experience so id recommend looking into it. I'd also recommend purchasing and RC-N1 (since theyre dirt cheap) just so you have one on hand as an extra controller and for the fact that you can hook it up to an external monitor for clients that want to see the flight.
      As far as working in POST, i think that comes down to how much you know in your editing software. Ill be honest, even though i have my commercial license and just purchased a mirrorless camera myself, i don't have the complete know how to get to that level as of yet but I'm sure you do and would be able to match things up as best as possible. I guess it also depends on what the situation calls for also. Maybe you might not need as much detail in certain situation compared to others.
      I did make a review on the original Mavic 3 and why I think it's still the best value between the PRO and Classic that can elaborate on this a bit more if you’re interested. It might possibly help with your decision. I also have one on the AIR 3 that might help as well.

    I wonder is the DJI Air 3 here was using any NDPL Filter?
    I've got confused, how come Air 3 with aperture F1.7 got softer light rather than Mavic 3 with the lowest F2,8 as in main camera.😅

    • @WIHRC
      @WIHRC  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Both drones were using the standard lens cover that comes with both. Both were also nest to auto.

      I'd never thoght that Air 3 will produce something that will stood out compared next to Mavic 3..

      Thanks much. It really just comes down to what you want out of, either. The Air 3s footage can look more pleading to the eye on most cases, but the Mavic 3s has more dynamic range, allowing you to see much more detail.

    Air 3 footage looks too oversharpened. Contrast is also higher by default but probably can be fixed in post.
    Does Air 3 has a sliders to control the amount of sharpening and noise reduction? Because my Mavic 3 doesn't.
    If sharpness on Air could be rolled back, to get a softer, more natural look - I would say it's a no brainer, since overall they look very close.

    Much to my surprise i actually preferred the air 3 some of the time. I appreciate that there's CZcams compression, and photos are a different matter.. Still.. You've made me and my air 3 happy.

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Both cameras have their place and cater to different desires. I tend to like the colors out of the air through for instance but enjoy the vast detail you get from the mavic 3. The gift of choice is definitely a wonderful thing for sure

    I’m annoyed. First world problem. But after seeing this I’m still not definitive. There’s someone locally selling a mavic 3. For similar price to what I can get the air 3 for.

    • @WIHRC
      @WIHRC  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The bottom line is, if you want a drone, that's going to give as much detail in imagery as you can get in a consumer line up, then the Mavic 3 is the better choice, however do you NEED the best quality? Ask yourself what you'd do with it. Are you color grading using the drone for professional work that requires those details? Will you need that kind of detail in the future for a drone business you plan to start?
      The Air 3 will be a more versatile drone with that 3X camera. You also get better battery life, and I'm assuming that if the prices are similar, the Air 3 you're looking at might be one of the fly more combos. If the Mavic 3 you're looking at is just the Mavic 3 with its base accessories, then the Air 3 ends up giving you better value at the cost of not having imagery that isn't as detailed but is still superb in its own right.

      Air 3 just has more contrast and color straight out of camera, thats why you prefer it. But after doing post production, the Mavic will be the better quality
