There is nothing better about the air 2s. In fact, if you do your research before commenting, you’ll find the smaller sensor of the air 3 better than the bigger 1 inch. It all has to do with the the technology behind it, it is a back-lit stacked sensor. Also an important note, there is no crop when shooting in 4K60 compared to the air 2s. I had the Air 3 - I felt it was a downgrade from my Air2S ... Picture quality leads a lot to be desired. Although strong winds weren't a problem anymore. I sold up ... For a variable aperture drone Mavic 3 Classic.
Mavic 3 classic is definitely an upgrade. I never owned the air 2s, so can’t comment on the difference, however I’m happy with the quality coming from the air 3.
I have the same situation, I'm own this 2 drones. I'm using my Air 3 day-by-day and reserving my Mavic 3 to special jobs and situations. Otherwise I'm specially recomends Air 3 to my friends... but many of this guys just need a Mini 4 Pro. See you!
I get how the Air 3 could a better everyday flyer than the Mavic 3 series of drones. A great sweet spot between size and performance. Great review Eddie. And I’m glad your having a good summer traveling with family.
Without aperture control it’s still a deal breaker for me! Plus with the Mavic 3 Pro you have 5k so more options in post for cropping and repositioning if you didn’t quite nail the gimbal movement in camera.
@@MrEddieNunez I do like the Air 3 but man everytime I fly the Mini 3 Pro its annoying trying to do video and photo at the same time! Much easier with the Mavic series but i dont htink DJI will ever put aperture control in any other airframe. Also great video dude!
Nice drone no doubt. A couple counter points........there is no vertical protection.........the Mavic 3 Classic has a 3x built into the single camera, offering less complexity when flying. Don't forget, the 20 km range is measured one way, so you can really only fly 10 km or 6.25 miles.
ugh...I think that the fixed aperture of the Air 3 is enough to even the Mavick 3 ahead. ND filters are a hassle if you go from well lit into not so well lit environments. Then you have wind stability...no idea where you live, but in Monterey County it makes Chicago look like duldrums.
Have you fully tested the 7x on the Mavic 3 Pro comparing it to the Mavic 3? It's definitely quite a bit sharper day and night and has much less light blooming at night. It's a big improvement and now actually usable IMO.
DJI should really add some new features to the existing mavic 3 pro. This to ensure that these customers deserve extra benefits compared to the air 3 and because of the huge price difference paid. Since months no new additions for the mavic 3 pro. This is not acceptable
@@MrEddieNunez well with waypoints you are not able to use all 3 lenses. Next colorgrading between the 3 lenses is difficult since they are not all d log. Also night vision not possible on all 3 lenses
Eddie, I don't think that ocusync 4 is going to backward compatible with older smart controllers using ocusync 3 that is just my feeling and Billy Kyle just came out with a new video going over all the DJI controllers as well.
Hi Robertson - I think they may make it work, but it wont be as good or smooth. Remember when the first gen smart remote was updated to work on the Air 2S and they made it compatible but with some lag? That is what may occur here. Not sure. Time will tell.
@@MrEddieNunez Yes I have the Mavic 2 Zoom and the smart remote for that was updated to handle my Air 2S but it was never the same as the Mavic 2 Zoom and yes there was lagging. Thanks for the videos that you take the time to post for us! Peace
@DRobertson725. Dave, Australia here great to see somebody mentions the Mavic2 zoom. Mine is about five years old now and I just love it. I’m a bit disappointed in this new Air3 as you can’t use the zoom on taking still photos JPEG’s so I believe
Glad to hear your thoughts. I'm looking to upgrade from the 2s. The air 2 had the 48mp and compared to the 2s 20 mp it was quite as good. I was wondering if it has improved. I don't know if you can answer that after you said this is your first air series. But I would like to hear your thoughts.
Hey Eddie what’s up ? thanks for sharing your thoughts 💭 ! I'm trying to decide which one to get between the Air3 or Mavic 3P and the only thing that concerns me is the Air3 fixed aperture because I like to take motion blur pictures, (I have to use filters in both cases anyway) do you think it is a crucial thing or will be ok? thanks again and have a good day.
Hi Edy! Buy both, LOL. Seriously, that is a tough question. Do you find yourself taking videos or photos in low light? Are you also interested in a 7x zoom lens?
@@MrEddieNunez well, I usually take photos in low light and video as well. But how about the Air3 medium telephoto lens 3-9x zoom range, is it bad compare with the 7x zoom on the M3P? I'm confused, also are there things that I can do with the M3P and couldn’t do on the Air3? 🤔
The only reason this would be possible is that Air, as a more consumer oriented drone, has more agressive noise reduction and post processing. Unless DJI managed to put into Air some breakthrough sensor technology, bigger sensor will always perform better in low light. Knowing DJI though, everything is possible. Adding great features to a new consumer drones that even their flagman pro models don't have, seems like their thing.
i dunno, feel like if you've got a M3P Cine it's for a reason .. can't imagine an A3 replacing that/finding the footage even close to comparable. unless your scope of work/client base has drastically changed to like, vlogging or something. 🤷♂
@MrEddieNunez The Air 3 is easily 80% of Mavic 3 Pro in ability, for 50% of the price. Sure it doesn't have the big Hasselblad- but if your output is CZcams & Social Media, it's hard to justify. Night Mode. Waypoints. Flight time, O4. It's a compelling package.
Hi eddie. I have a mvic 2 pro, an excellent drone. Thinking of getting the air 3 but hesitant due to the fixed aperture lens. Im a photographer mainly and enjoy the image quality of the 2 pro. Will i be giving up much in image quality. I do large tryptic panoramics with the 2pro that have fine detail and color. Hoping the air 3 can come close. Also, i thought NYC was a nfz and you couldn't even take off. You had some awesome footage in Brooklyn.
I think you would benefit from the mavic 3 pro. Having a variable aperture is golden. I will tell you that shooting photos on the Air 3 during the day, the shutter will be cranked high at 1/2500 and sometimes those photos don’t look the best. I’d rather have a variable aperture and be able to shoot at f5-f8, etc. hope this helps.
Eddie can you go over some of your favorite EXPO settings and camera settings for the Air 3. I find the drone braking hard and flying too sporty even in normal mode out of the box. What's your secret sauce on fine tuning the Air 3 for smooth flying. Thanks brother.
From a portability perspective with ~40 minute battery life, O4 transmission, Omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, and the 3 times 70mm tele lens……. Yes. I do need to revisit this comment when compared to the Mavic 3 pro once I test at night. Haven’t had the opportunity to fly this drone in low light yet.
I fly in nyc all the time never have signal problems. Yes there are some zones which will give you some strong warnings but its a given for such a metropolis. Obviously m3p is more capable device. It only matters what you do with it. I know ppl creating stunning footage still using m2p. 👊🏻
Experience pilots can fly anything in NYC, I still fly my P4P at time in certain situations and it handles well, but magnetic interference and signal cut off can cause you to get in trouble if you dont know what you are doing.
I own a mini 3 pro . The only two draw backs are , the lack of Omni sensors and certainly the wind situation sometimes .. but technically the gimbal holds just fine for me... pretty good for on the run moves and a low budget cut documentaries. Would love to upgrade to the A3 but DJI will just pop out the A3s right after.
@@JoshConnectMedia I flew with my buddy in patchgogue NY on the water on what seemed to be an average wind day and while it stayed up just fine , it was moving quite a bit. Over the hour he got 2 separate over heating warnings while sitting idle doing panoramic on a 90* day. He also needs to set up a fan when pulling content off with quick transfer. Just seems like a headache I’d rather not deal with.
@@ChuckD05 Yep , the heating up sometimes … I don’t normally do quick transfers . I take the card out and directly use it on my laptop to transfer the files . Easy way .
Good Video - thanks! By the way: is obstacle avoidance (in normal mode) also available in those automatic movements like Dronies, Spin-around, way-point-flight? Or only why steering and while active tracking?
Me Eddie, by your claims regarding battery and flight time. Is it safe to say that the Air 3 last longer in the air than the Mavic 3 (original) not the Pro? Both are rated 46 but is the Air3 yelling more actual flight time? Or they about the same. Thanks!
Depends on a lot of factors. I think they are both very similar. I just finished a hyperlapse with little wind and got about 38 minutes on the air 3. 450 raw shots.
I have a doubt about the Air 3. 4K/60fps HDR. Is this function automatic? Because on the mini 3 pro it clearly says HDR if you record in 24-30 fps. But with the Air 3 no such visible option is available. I just got my Air 3 yesterday. So does it record HDR automatic? Or do I need to change anything?
Great content! I was going to get Mavic 3 pro but the air 3 looks like covers all the bases.. One real question though - how much better is the 4/3 sensor in good lighting conditions over the air3.. This is the only thing I would like to know from someone who has both
Thanks! I do mostly day time photos and wondering if m3pro will be visibility better with the Hasselblad over the 1/1,3. It looks as there is not much difference. I own air 2s now
Thanks for that great video. I noticed you were flying over uninvolved people, along roads and in the city. What certification do you need to do that in the US?? And does that certification cover you in all those countries you visited or did you need something different?? Just curious as here in Europe you need different permits to do what you did.
Hi, It may appear that way, but I was over garden areas the entire time. That is the advantage of having multiple lenses for that different perspective.
makes no sense to me for one simple fact for me at least. I shoot mainly photography and the simple fact I can adjust my aperture is the number one reason I got the Mavic Pro 3
@@MrEddieNunez I'm new to it. Don't want to wish I went either way after the fact. I could do the air 3 or mini 4 pro. If it's worth the abilities of the air 3.

I want to compare the RCN-2 with the new RC-2. I think the RCN-2 doesnt offer the same signal strength as the RC-2. I am hoping the RC pro is compatible as well.
@@MrEddieNunez Thank you Eddie for your input on the controllers. I am also hoping that DJI does the right thing and make the RC PRO compatible with the Air 3…….. we paid a lot of money for the RC PRO it just would not be right if they choose not to make the RC PRO compatible. I really don’t want to buy the RC 2 controller but I probably will.
Thanks for the quick reply Eddie. I was under the impression the standard dji rc controller was compatible. Didn't know the standard controller was upgraded to O4.
This drone exists because the lake of competition in the market. Smaller sensor than Air2s just to add a 70mm off Mavic 3? If you’re going to shell out, at least get the Mavic 3 Classic; a far better aircraft. Don’t buy the hype and support drones that shouldn’t exist. Honestly, I’m shocked they didn’t at the very least give us a 1” variable aperture given the Mavic 3 line is micro 4/3.
Compared to the air 2s the air 3 improved a lot. Better flight time, better obstacle avoidance, better transmission and it has two cameras. The air 3 don’t uses the outdated color profile anymore as the air 2s. Also in lowlight scenarios the air 3 is performing way better which results in good quality overall.
The title alone is ludicrous lol. Air 3 is a downgrade from the Mavic 3 Pro. Even on the DJI website the Mavic is the flagship. Air 3 as a back up or to fly when you don't want to risk the Mavic.. I can understand that

Thanks bro! Cant wait for us to link up so you can check it out for yourself.
Great video Eddie. Your content is always helpful and on point. Although your content is something your viewers love to see, I for one am glad you take time for family and to travel doing what you love. It keeps you mentally and physically healthy. I’m sure your family appreciates it as well. Keep doing what you are doing. Your viewers are not going anywhere 👍👍👍
Family first, always ❤️ thank you
I agree with you Eddie, mini 3 pro is too shaky in strong winds. I’m already looking at the Air 3 as my next purchase
Good choice!
Well Done Eddie. Watching Now and setting up my Air 3. Looks Awesome
Thanks Johnnie. Congrats on your new drone!
It does not have a “ one over one third” inch sensor. That would be a three inch sensor. It has a one over one point three I.e. 1/1.3 sensor
Correct. Sorry- I misspoke.
Great video MR. EDDIE NUNEZ glad to see you back on the grind 💪look forward to more amazing content💯%🙏🇵🇷
Appreciate it
Epic bro! Love it
Thanks!! Hope you are well.
super work thanks a lot best regards from Frank Norway and Stavanger keep it up:)
Many thanks!
The human eye sees something comparable to 80mm focal length in a 35mm FOV.
Pretty ingenious of DJI to provide both lenses.
So good!
Just holding out for thr Air 3S. That thing will rip a few cords for sure.
Please do a comparison video with Dji Mavic 3 Classic Vs Dji Air3 Please Please
Its in the works :-)
Great info, excellent footage Eddie! Agree 100%. Loving my Air 3!!!
Sure is a little beast
I have the same situation, I'm own this 2 drones. I'm using my Air 3 day-by-day and reserving my Mavic 3 to special jobs and situations. Otherwise I'm specially recomends Air 3 to my friends... but many of this guys just need a Mini 4 Pro. See you!
Exactly. We share the same thoughts. Happy flying
I get how the Air 3 could a better everyday flyer than the Mavic 3 series of drones. A great sweet spot between size and performance. Great review Eddie. And I’m glad your having a good summer traveling with family.
Its an upgrade from the Mini 3 and a hybrid of the Mavic 3 Pro is the best way I can explain it. Are you picking up one, Ron?
@@MrEddieNunez Yes, I plan on getting one. And probably the new Action 4 as well.
Without aperture control it’s still a deal breaker for me! Plus with the Mavic 3 Pro you have 5k so more options in post for cropping and repositioning if you didn’t quite nail the gimbal movement in camera.
Valid point Daryl
@@MrEddieNunez I do like the Air 3 but man everytime I fly the Mini 3 Pro its annoying trying to do video and photo at the same time! Much easier with the Mavic series but i dont htink DJI will ever put aperture control in any other airframe. Also great video dude!
The wide lens can set the scene but the 70mm creates the focus.
11:13 good to hear about o4! I am also in NY.
🙌
Nice drone no doubt. A couple counter points........there is no vertical protection.........the Mavic 3 Classic has a 3x built into the single camera, offering less complexity when flying. Don't forget, the 20 km range is measured one way, so you can really only fly 10 km or 6.25 miles.
Great points!
gracias mi hermano ,Por la imformacion .nice video bro
Saludos! Siempre.
Good points, Eddie. Seems like a great quad.
Thanks Chris. It’s so cute ☺️ LOL
Certainly your footage is great but I like the larger sensor always.
Fair enough
After watching your video, I looked at other Air 3 reels and I am really impressed!@@MrEddieNunez
ugh...I think that the fixed aperture of the Air 3 is enough to even the Mavick 3 ahead. ND filters are a hassle if you go from well lit into not so well lit environments. Then you have wind stability...no idea where you live, but in Monterey County it makes Chicago look like duldrums.
Depends on your settings
@@MrEddieNunez for example, flying in a tree canopy, then depending down and out into a brightly lit field
Have you fully tested the 7x on the Mavic 3 Pro comparing it to the Mavic 3? It's definitely quite a bit sharper day and night and has much less light blooming at night. It's a big improvement and now actually usable IMO.
I actually did test, but never published a video on it. The content is still sitting on my SSD. Might do that soon. Thank you!
M4/3 sensor on a drone is just insane hence why the mavic 3 pro is still the more “special” drone imo.
Takk!
Thank you!
Great points all around. Enjoyed the content and just subbed to your channel.
Thanks Mike!
Billy Kyle did a range test in the Salt flats and got the advertised 12 miles i believe
Awesome. Love that kid.
Beautiful shots :) Amazing :)
Thanks a lot!
DJI should really add some new features to the existing mavic 3 pro. This to ensure that these customers deserve extra benefits compared to the air 3 and because of the huge price difference paid. Since months no new additions for the mavic 3 pro. This is not acceptable
I hear you, but always remember DJI is a business and they delivered everything that was promised on the Mavic 3 Pro. Nothing is really owed to us.
How is the Air 3 under low light situations?
It’s pretty good, but mavic 3 pro is better
Glad to hear your thoughts. I'm looking to upgrade from the 2s. The air 2 had the 48mp and compared to the 2s 20 mp it was quite as good. I was wondering if it has improved. I don't know if you can answer that after you said this is your first air series. But I would like to hear your thoughts.
Not too sure, never owned or flew the air 2s
@@MrEddieNunez Thanks, I figured I'd take a shot and see if you knew anything. 🙂
Mavic 3 pro has a variable aperture and main camera is a micro 4/3
Great job papi,... I'm subscribing and will be starting my page soon based in Barrio Hayales, Coamo Arriba, Puerto Rico. You da man.
Awesome thank you!
I found that the Air 3 performs better than the Mavic 3 pro in low light. The Mavic 3 pro footage looks sharper, more detailed and has better colors.
I cant wait to test at night and do comparison.
Well done Eddie
Thanks bro
Which 3x camera looks the best of the two? Big quality difference? Thanks for a great video!
To me both look very similar. In fact, I think they might be the same camera.
i dunno, feel like if you've got a M3P Cine it's for a reason .. can't imagine an A3 replacing that/finding the footage even close to comparable. unless your scope of work/client base has drastically changed to like, vlogging or something. 🤷♂
M3P Cine has its purpose. But like mentioned in the video, the Air 3 is my daily driver now.
Refreshing video Eddie! Air3 is a boss!!
Thanks Blace!
I was considering the same move. But ill wait a few months and let them duke it out. May.the best drone win!
Good decision Blair
@MrEddieNunez The Air 3 is easily 80% of Mavic 3 Pro in ability, for 50% of the price. Sure it doesn't have the big Hasselblad- but if your output is CZcams & Social Media, it's hard to justify. Night Mode. Waypoints. Flight time, O4. It's a compelling package.
You don't see any side by side comparisons because they're trying to sell the air 3...
Another good video Eddie.
More to come! Thank you
Eddie can you go over some of your favorite EXPO settings and camera settings for the Air 3. I find the drone braking hard and flying too sporty even in normal mode out of the box. What's your secret sauce on fine tuning the Air 3 for smooth flying. Thanks brother.
Yes, Once I find my sweet spot I will be making a video about EXPO settings. Still tweaking at the moment.
So... would you say the Air 3 is game changing in any way?
15:36 Finally someone actually speaks the truth about the mini 3 pro. Heat and wind really hold it back.
16:26 good point and choice on the reg rc.. I think you’re right with the the rc pro.
Mini is a powerful little guy, but you need perfect conditions
Easy way .
tele-lens decompresses!!!!!!!! if you want to use this sort of metaphor.
Good Video - thanks! By the way: is obstacle avoidance (in normal mode) also available in those automatic movements like Dronies, Spin-around, way-point-flight? Or only why steering and while active tracking?
You're Welcome..... and yes, its available.

Hey there!
Starting a drone business. Using an air 2 now. Is the mavic 3 pro that much better than the air 3?
For business go with the mavic 3 pro.
If its my first drone would you suggest this over the mini 3 pro?
Yes, 100%!
I love the Air 3 as well. Just don't think the night footage is as good as the Mavic 3...
Fair enough, and I can agree..... but I love my Air 3 for daily stuff when not filming anything professionally.
@@MrEddieNunez Me too!!!
For filmaker is ok and for photographer is better than air 2s or mavic 3? thanks
Mavic 3
I have a doubt about the Air 3. 4K/60fps HDR. Is this function automatic? Because on the mini 3 pro it clearly says HDR if you record in 24-30 fps. But with the Air 3 no such visible option is available. I just got my Air 3 yesterday. So does it record HDR automatic? Or do I need to change anything?
I havent seen a HDR mode within the menu.
Great content! I was going to get Mavic 3 pro but the air 3 looks like covers all the bases.. One real question though - how much better is the 4/3 sensor in good lighting conditions over the air3.. This is the only thing I would like to know from someone who has both
Can’t answer just yet. I haven’t flown the air 3 in low light yet, but will be comparing the air 3 and mavic 3 in low light very soon!
Thanks! I do mostly day time photos and wondering if m3pro will be visibility better with the Hasselblad over the 1/1,3. It looks as there is not much difference. I own air 2s now
What one did you end up going with? I’m in the same boat. I’m looking to upgrade my air 2s
This is true
in41 RC Pro 2 once released nice vid, new sub
Awesome thank you!
I’m looking for my first drone, how would you compare the mavic classic or the air 3?
Depends on your use and need. If shooting a night or low light primarily - I would get the classic.
Planning to buy, Mavic 3 pro or Air 3?
Mavic 3 Pro if you want all of the best. Micro 4/3 camera is amazing.
Get the best camera you can afford. I would go Mavic 3 classic.
That’s right 🙌
If you were getting started in videography, what drone would you start with? Mini 4 pro? Air 3?
Depends. If you have the money to spend, Air 3.
@@MrEddieNunez I'm new to it. Don't want to wish I went either way after the fact. I could do the air 3 or mini 4 pro. If it's worth the abilities of the air 3.
@@kenjidodson8911 the mini 4 pro is an incredible little drone with a great camera. However, after a few months you might wish you had purchased the air 3 due to better performance in wind, and camera quality. Also the air 3 has the 3x tele lens. Mini 4 pro does shoot vertical natively if that is important to you.
Or if you think something near the price of the air 3 fly more, would be a good first, would love to hear opinions. Thanks for responding, and thanks in advance.
I wouldn't even upgrade from my mini 3 Pro to the air 3 much less replace a mavic 3 pro with it...

Eddie how is the RCN-2 working out for you, any regrets not getting the RC-2. I myself will be getting the $1099.00 package with the RCN-2 with the hope that DJI will make the RC-PRO compatible with the Air 3……. Looking forward to more of your videos. Keep it real…….
I want to compare the RCN-2 with the new RC-2. I think the RCN-2 doesnt offer the same signal strength as the RC-2. I am hoping the RC pro is compatible as well.
@@MrEddieNunez Thank you Eddie for your input on the controllers.
Tech keeps getting better, this sensor is better than the 1 inch on the air 2s
Firstly I like your mic quality OK no I can continue to vdo

The title alone is ludicrous lol. Air 3 is a downgrade from the Mavic 3 Pro. Even on the DJI website the Mavic is the flagship. Air 3 as a back up or to fly when you don't want to risk the Mavic.. I can understand that
It compliments the mavic 3 pro
