    I had two major leaks and a few no AC by now in Virginia.

    Ida looked at superheat, sub cooling, the filter and coil/s. Normally a hard start kit rated for the unit is good to add with the new cap on a cap blow out too. All just my opinion. You got it done and that's what matters in the end.

    people need to learn to shut their systems off when they don't cool rather than cook compressors and fan motors with bad caps cycling on thermal overload.

    So far it's been capacitor/drain line/contactor. These newer contactors are junk also the coils are shot blowing fuses after 5 years. Everything is junk now but job security I guess. 🤷‍♂

      @Jon-hx7pe Před 27 dny +3

      can at least replace with better parts, like amrad capacitors.

      @@Jon-hx7pe not under warranty you can't unless you do it without the company knowing in which then you're footing the bill for it instead of the manufacturer

      I had a start up today that the unit has never had power on it before and the first power up the condenser fan motor was bad. Just ridiculous

      @@gtpforever who said anything about warranty? capacitors at cost are cheap anyway - explain to customer, pay a little more and get a quality cap, or warranty the crappy one putting in the same junk that will fail again. most of the cost is service call and labor.

    Its a good thing you had your drill motor to take out the screw holding the cap strap, you might not have gotten it out otherwise 🤣

    Down south we are preparing for furnace season already! lol Not really but I did my first AC call weeks ago, March 31st or so. Replaced CUs and such.

      @chrissipple1018 Před 27 dny +1

      I don't want to sound stupider than I am but what is a CUs. Is this more acronyms, if so let's make HVAC great again and stop with the acronyms were not in the military. And for everyone who thinks that I hate the military they're wrong. No more acronyms

      @@chrissipple1018 Dude, you're watching an HVAC channel. Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning. We talk about caps, capacitors. What do they do? they change the timing of the sine wave to increase torque. Torque is the imparted moment on a reciprocating object.
      To your first question... Condensing Unit or, the thing outside with the fan.

    • @chrissipple1018
      @chrissipple1018 Před 27 dny +1

      @@rcstl8815 You have me mixed up with someone else, I know what a condenser is I've been in this trade a long time sense 1979. And torque is a twisting force that usually causes rotation. like a car engine produces a negative and positive torque.
