For me, it helped to explain why the Israelites were told to wipe out certain towns/cities and to leave nothing alive man or beast.
In case you're not aware, Dr Michael Heiser really opens up the Bible in his books Unseen Realm and Reversing Hermon. Being a top tier OT and ancient Middle East/Semitic culture & language, he knows all the texts in the ancient and not so ancient Middle East. This helps flesh out the Bible and so many missing puzzle pieces fall into place and then the Bible's account of early events becomes clear.
Totally amazing and makes so much sense. Details like what the rebel angels who came down in Genesis 6 did to deeply corrupt mankind made my head spin for a long time. Now I'm used to it. :)

I have tried to look into this topic often because I studied Greek mythology in high school. This all sounds like Greek mythology but I believe scripture, so I have been conflicted.

Enoch mentioning of the fallen angles lines up with all of the esoteric teachings of old. These types of books would those think these beings are benevolent. All these books and grimoires that have been around for thousands of years date back to Babylon. The lesser keys of Solomon seems to be the most popular among people into this sort of thing. What people donât realize is those that are heavily into the craft and left hand path they think that these beings that they invoke are here to do there bidding and that they have power over them. Yet look at people like Crowley and numerous others that suffered at there own will. People donât realize this stuff is everywhere and how dangerous it is. This new age spiritualism movement seems to be tied in with some of the old hermetic teachings. Like finding your own guardian angel and this self realization aspect. This stuff is all familiar to me because Iâve read some many books about the subject and know thereâs a hidden aspect to it that the Bible references. I think some people get into this just out of curiosity and fascination and donât realize thereâs consequences. Nothing to gain and everything to lose. This is why I take Enoch seriously because itâs very open about peopleâs commute with behind the veil and what it actually is and who theyâre dealing with.

I use KJ Bible and get a very different meaning from Genesis. Nephiliam replaces giants as found in KJ. A giant would most likely be 8 to 12 feet tall comparable to Goliath. Sons of god marrying daughters of men would mean believers marrying non believers or even pagans. Myself being male if I had married a non believer what would the result had been for my children. They would be trained in the ways of my non believing wife, lost as a believer.
If people studied The Bible like they do The Book of Enoch they would get the drift much easier.

No question in my mind that Greek mythology including the lost city of Atlantis ties in with the Watchers or Nephillum. The stories of Hercules, Zeus, the gods of Mt Olympus all have truth to them. The one eyed Cyclops being their giant offspring. The Minotaur...half bull and half human. The Phoenix..half bird and half lion. Genetic mixing was part of the perversion that the fallen angels had part in .Irish folklore with leprechauns, fairies and trolls all tie in with these fallen angels.

I like how the book of Enoch explains how humans learned metallurgy, Herb lore, jewelry making etc. Specifically, it says the fallen ones taught man before God wanted them to know such things. Kinda just explains how humans learned those things. But I also like how you didn't want to develop doctrine based solely on the book of Enoch.
Maybe now we need to add the making of lasers and microchips to that list of other-worldly inventions. Ya think?

The reason this book was banned and thank God someone in the ancient world had that foresight to hide these in Qumran, was because it shows us that there was a previous fall before Lucifer fell and the other rebel angels. The first fall was due to lust and not pride. The second was that Angels, at least a certain class was mostly masculine, I say mostly masculine because some of them were female. The third reason is that angels can reproduce and can marry on earth, obviously not in Heaven. The fourth reason is that Angels didn't just go down for some booty, their object of their desire was Eve who was obviously with Adam in the garden. So when daughters began to appear on earth in large numbers, they took the opportunity to get some for themselves. The fifth reason is that some angels were female and did comingle with the sons of man. My proof is the quote, 'and the women also of the angels, shall become sirens.' The word 'of' means a part of either a group or company. Which means angels took female form. My guess is that they were experimenting with their new corporeal bodies. The sixth reason is that Angels are shown to be as flawed and disappointing as humans. They are not as perfect as we think they are. The seventh reason is this explains even further why God unleashed the flood.. it wasn't because humans were sinning. It was because Angels/ The watchers ruined everything by revealing things such as war, metal smithing, beautifying of the eyelids, abortion etc. It was because of angels such as Azazel that damned humanity. These secrets were not something we we're supposed to learn or know. The eight reason is that we learn exactly where demons come from. The souls of the dead Nephilim were barred from entering heaven and since there was no hell yet for Lucifer, they were trapped within the earth which is where we get evil spirits from. My last reason why this book was banned was because it foreshadows the coming of Christ.
Dr. Heiser passed away on February 20, 2023 from pancreatic cancer. Such a tragic loss for mankind as he was truly a knowledgeable man about the Bible.

I'm reading The lost books of the bible and it has been amazing! Also studying Torah and Hebrew and it really has opened up scripture. I think God wants us to know now. Remember the books that were to remained sealed in the book of Daniel. It's a mistake to ignore these lost books.

@@marvstrickler9573 You have a very good point. There is an abundance of very interesting things that we can research, but if we are not very careful it can start to supersede what we should be studying "in church", that is Scriptures.
When I was a teenager, I wanted to know about dinosaurs, ancient history, apocryphal books. I realized that if I really wanted to know about all of that then I should go to college and study that. I did do that and then taught college Archaeology, Ancient History, & Biblical Literature.
This has proven to be a much better approach than talking about it in church without a proper education on those "extracurricular" studies, even though they are very interesting.
I will conclude that all of those years of intensive study proved the Bible to be accurate in every point.

Reading through the Book of Enoch with my friend we both got a lot of info that caught us off guard in a positive way. We read through it and immediately after finishing my friend looked at me and said these words to me. "Wow, I feel so special!" What I did not tell her at that moment was I was thinking the very same thing. Why we felt this way? God has set us aside and loves us incredibly! The angels on the good side (those that remain in Gods favor) in this book ask God, "Why do you waste your time with these feeble mortals! Do away with them!

Angels don't understand that we are not just children and creation of God but we are His reflection on earth. Being an image bearer elevate our status from any Creation compare to Angel's who are more powerful, sons of God but don't reflect God's Image. Souls are immortals occupying a mortal body.

Enoch can also be inspired but perhaps left separate from the other books on purpose. For a time when it would be needed during the tribulation. It's specifically for those living during the tribulation. We MUST read Enoch.
That's what apocryphal texts are meant for , catholic bibles have some in the centre which are used for "wisdom" some less so .

The apocrypha were not exactly "left out". They were first separated by Martin Luther because he had issues with the Catholic Church. He felt the writings were instructional but not divinely inspired. The books eventually were removed mid 19th century by the Protestant Church because they believed they were not canonical doctrine and didn't belong in it. The first compilation of the Bible, which was adopted by the Catholic (Universal) Church, was created by the early world leaders of the Christian church at the Synod of Hippo in 393 AD.
This is so needed, the church has been asleep too long.

This is my rant of your explanation of doing due diligence without attacking your interpretation.
Often times people are so blinded by the labels or names of how words are used in current terms in their region. They are unable to fathom the complete context of a spiritual and physical level relating to the time it was written and/or the divine intentional meaning and the current relevance of applying.
Important to note they are referring to Enoch 1. The other books are widely agreed to be falsely attributed to Enoch
Keeping the scriptures in simple helps us understand, and allowing The Holy Spirit help us is vital to understanding..

I got into this years ago I am a Christian I do not know how they would place me lol I am a avid reader and historian. I had alot of questions even as a kid but none of the ministers,priest,bishops and pastors would answer me straight forward as im a straight forward person very blunt and honest. So I had to learn myself and I have learnt a lot more than I ever got answered if the leaders would have just answered me if they did at all I would have understood better.

I always thought it curious when Jacob wrestled with the angel of the Lord and Jacob asked him what his name was, his only reply was why do you want to know my name? Then God changed Jacob's name to Israel and God revealed himself through several names!
When I was a little boy I was bisited by angels. They came into my bedroom and had to stoop over because they was so tall. It was 2 of them around 8 or 9 ft tall. They were a chalky white but see thru at the same time. So even back then in 1979 I knew angels were tall before I ever learned it later in life.

I knew a lady years back who told our Bible study group that she was once visited by an angel when she was a child. I don't remember if there was a message brought by the angel. The lady I mentioned had tears in her eyes when she questioned WHY WOULD AN ANGEL VISIT ME. WHY ME? I just assumed she may have been coo-coo. Now, perhaps I think I assumed incorrectly.

A lot of people are waking up to the applicability of books like Enoch and Jubilees. There are many books that are amazing and line up totally with the 66 book cannon. The 66 book cannon is the edited version approved by men.

Hello Ray. I agree with you. It is my opinion that the Pyramids/Megastructures that are found around the world were built by the Fallen Angel's with the help of their offspring the Nephilim. To me it makes the most sense considering how we cannot duplicate the construction, not even today. It is also my opinion that the Fallen Angel's not only used these places as their Earthly homes, but also as places to be worshipped as God's. Take care

Thank you for pointing out there are 3 different books of Enoch, most videos I watch on this topic never point out that extremely important fact.
I believe the book of Enough for the simple fact that Jude made reference to it, and Enoch fills in so many blanks. I could be wrong of course but the book of Enoch makes so much sense.

Great discussion, very nicely done! I enjoyed listening to it, and here are a couple of thoughts that come to mind:
-We cannot assume that the "sons of God" were angels. Verses speaking of angels falling have no definitive connection to this passage. (1 Pet. 3:19-20; 2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6).
-The "sons of God" may been fallen angels, but we cannot prove that they were.
-The term "sons of God" as used in the book of Job does not teach us that the title should only used for angels... those of us who are saved are sons and daughters of God.
-The phrase "not given in marriage" does not prove that the angels were "unable to have sex." Only that they do not marry.

Thank you! I used Blue Letter Bible, as they suggested, and "sons of God" can certainly reference Christians. I don't think their point is proved yet, so I'm uncertain about the things they teach founded upon that. Excellent topic, love these guys and their work, really helped me work on some things! (Psalm 82, for example.)
Only in the New Testament people are called sons of God , before they were called friends of God , just like Abraham for example .
2 Peters talks about the angels and mentioned the time of the Flood NOT before creation ...... and Jude mentions Enoch as a Prophet whose prophecies were common knowledge at the time .... Jesus was a relative to Jude.....

The production quality is outstanding. The attention to detail in editing and visuals enhances the overall viewing experience.
I don't think they're still falling, but I do believe there was an allotted amount of time where they had the choice to fall or choose to serve God. Maybe like a thousand years or so. I think most probably fell with Lucifer right at the get go, but others fell afterwards in smaller numbers for their own reasons, after all angels are individuals. They're all individually named. The sin of vanity, pride, and jealousy caused Lucifer to fall, and for others it was lust and of course the desire to procreate themselves.
I had not considered the viewpoint of a progressive falling, as in they are still continuing to fall. Interesting thought....
As for Enoch and the other apocryphal texts, I suspect they are there for those who want/seek a deeper understanding and knowledge. The Bible is the basics, but all extra books regardless of what you read must agree with the bible. It's like mathematics, if the higher learning of mathematics (algebra, geometry, etc) doesn't agree with the basics of 1+1=2, then it's not true. Enoch, Jubilees, etc is there for deeper knowledge and understanding. For some people, they don't believe the books because they're not ready for it. You can't eat steak if you can barely eat cooked apples. It is for the glory of God to hide things, and it's for the glory of kings to seek the hidden. For those who seek and hunger for the deeper things, God will provide and meat and satisfy.
Additionally, as for the "mediator" and angels acting as mediator, you have it incorrect. "Angels" are simply messengers delivering messages, so they take messages back and forth, but not mediating. In real estate, Realtors go back and for between the buyer and seller to mediate a sale, but it's common for realtors to have an assistant who carries messages back and forth. The assistant isn't mediating, the realtor is. Same as the angels, the angels are just messengers carrying messages and/or prayers back and forth.
Yall take stuff wayyy too literally. Scripture is to be taken "by the spirit", not "by the letter". If someone has a experience in heaven, it must line up with scripture, meaning if it pushes the person to God, etc, but if they don't find a certain angel's name in the bible or w/e, you can't automatically throw it out. That's taking the Bible by the letter and not by the spirit. You gotta remember that we are living in these bodies, these are temporary; we are spirits who have a soul and live in a body.
Some translations of "Paul's" vision actually say that he couldn't speak of it, because he didn't have the words to describe it. It could also be that he couldn't speak of it, because the world wasn't ready. Much like at the end of John, Jesus said that He had so much more to tell them, but they weren't ready, we have to trust Holy Spirit to share those things with us. If we don't open ourselves up to God and trust that we're hearing from Him, then Holy Spirit can reveal God's mysteries to us without us throwing it out believing it's the adversary telling us lies.
Now keep in mind, i do agree with you on people sharing their encounters, because there are those who make it up, which is where discernment comes in. Can't always believe someone's story of their encounter, much like anything else you gotta watch their fruits. That is a drawback of people seeking out or wanting those mystical experiences, but they're only after the experiences and not actually pursuing the Father and being Fathered by Him. Very bad if that's all they pursue and desire.
I understand the more fundamental motives, yet feel for various reasons this is a bit too cautious an approach toward Enoch 1. Though, it is nice to check a podcast with most of the intricate concerns and basics dealt with as they are here. Worth the time guys, thanks.
For me, this helps explain the very real experiences others have when worshipping other gods. I was talking to a person at my university who said she was had been experimenting with alternate spirituality bc Christianity (in her experience) had not offered an explanation for spiritual experiences outside of Christ.

The book of Enoch isn't canon or God breathed. If God wanted it in the Bible, do you not think it would be in there? The book of Enoch is full of contradictions against scripture.

The formation of the Protestant Bible has an extensive history. After 1666, many traditions and versions started to omit what is commonly called the writings of the "Apocrypha." Many people believe that the formation of the western canon of 66 books was God's stamp of approval for how many books should be in the Bible.
Polycarp, a disciple of John, quoted the book of Tobit twice in his letter to the Philippians. Our Messiah, the apostles and their disciples, directly quoted or talked about concepts that are only explained in books outside of the 66 book redacted protestant canon.
There is no Scriptural basis for the argument that YHWH only preserved His word in the protestant canon. Remember when king Josiah heard the book of the law that had collected dust in 2 Kings 22 for the first time, or how the scribes mishandled the Torah in the days of Jeremiah(Jer ch. 8, which Ezra fixed when he rewrote all of the books - 2 Esdras 14)?
It's pretty incredible that so many immediately dismiss the possibility that maybe, just maybe, our heavenly Father preserved some texts in other canons. Like the Ethiopic, Syriac, Armenian, Catholic etc.
We should also remind ourselves that the books in the Septuagint that the gentile believers in Messiah read in the 1st century had more books than modern protestant canon.

Enoch was a scribe. This is fascinating. Enoch, the 7th from Adam, could read and write. He wrote books that were obviously quoted by modern day men, how? There is a language given by God to men. The language all people spoke prior to the tower of Babel and would have been used by Enoch to write books. Perhaps this language is still spoken in some form even now. Could Hebrew be that language? Or an offshoot of that language? How would anyone be able to read and quote books written by Enoch.l

I just started reading the Book of Enoch, and I find it odd; not with the flavor of the Holy Bible. Thank you for your wisdom. I agree with you guys, but I don't think this should be read by most Christians. Some are too ready to embrace anything that mentions spiritual things, without discernment.
I would argue that it's not in the same flavor because of WHEN it would have been written. Which would have been way before any of the events in scripture happened, minus Adam and Eve's story. Enoch was 7th from Adam and existed before the flood and was taken to heaven by God alive! I would HOPE the flavor would be different. If it were the same flavor I'd think it was a forgery. I encourage you to pray about it. Read it in its entirety and put up against scripture. I find no contradictions. Only greater understanding in my humble opinion. blessings

In the Book of Enoch it says that God had assigned those angles âthe fallen angels â to watch over and help the sons of man who were on the earth. Those angels came down to earth from their heavenly post to marry the daughters of the sons of man. In so doing they were punished by God. Their assignment was to help the sons of man. What I find perplexing is that if the Roman Catholic Church can add the additional books (Deuterocanonical/Apocrypha) found in a Catholic Bible, even when the KJV was originally published, those same books were initially included at the end of the Old Testament (unlike in the Catholic Bible which placed them more in the middle of the O.T.), those books were included but not the Book of Enoch.
I really love Enoch, he was one of only 3 taken to Heaven alive.. that would indicate, God/The I Am, favored Enoch all others at the time on earth...So what he wrote has importance.. It's actually an extension of Revelations... That John wrote, an in depth of what is to come, PLUS explanations of how and why things came about.. the 200 fallen angels that would have children and corrupt humanity through knowledge of evils that none knew before them.. The angelic fall is one of the VERY first things we see in Scripture.

One more thing. In the verse of Scripture you used here 1 Johh 1:5 what does "darkness" mean? We see this same "darkness" in Genesis 1:4. This "darkness" is very specific and the way it is used in Scripture means something that is fundamental for understanding A LOT of biblical language. I will help answer this question with a little background information about Genesis 1:4.
God is just starting to create Heaven AND Earth. He has not made the Earth yet, it does not exist, it is formless and void.
"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light" (Gen 1:3, NIV).
This "light" is not a what but a "who."
Remember, God is creating Heaven AND Earth.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
He we see that the "light" was good. But something happened. God had to separate the "light" from the "darkness." Hint:Angels sinned!
This "Day" and "Night" are not the sun and moon. They weren't created until day four. These are the "stars" of Scripture.
Here area few verses to help you understand.
"while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?" (Job 38:7, NIV).
"And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14, NIV).
Even Jesus is referred to as a "star."
"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star (Revelation 22:16, NIV).
So what is John saying in 1 John 1:5? What does it mean if it is taken in context knowing and understanding figurative language used in the Bible? What is this "darkness?"
Side note: Anytime you see the words Light, Morning, Day, Dark, Night, Darkness, Star and so on in scripture you should be thinking spiritually not physically and looking for angels. Angels are even called "thunder" in the Bible.
"And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, "Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down (Revelation 10:4, NIV).

That "cloud" that Jesus ascended into Heaven with. That was His welcoming home party. They will also be coming back with Him in the same manner. I wish I could say that I am so smart that I was able to pick up on all of this on my own but I cannot. I can see the spiritual realm like Elijah so I am able to read Scripture and have it make sense of the things I see not the other way around. Without being able to actually see these things I would have never been able to pick up on them in the Bible.

You have completely twisted the meaning. What Peter is saying is that God is transcendent. He has no problem waiting because time is not the same âwith the Lordâ as it is with us. Read the entire chapter. The surrounding context is important in Scripture.
Now, the creation account goes into great detail to let us know these are literal days. âThe evening and the morning were the first dayâ and so on...
So no..... You are not correct. I am pretty sure God knows how He did it!

I live in Israel. Here Sat. at sunset it is actually Sunday. Sun. at sunset it is actually Mon.
