I just received my 317G from my dealer about two weeks ago and it is AWESOME!!! Yes it might be more expensive than a Kubota but you get what you pay for. I'm not knocking Kubota but it just wasn't for me,plus my dealer is a great guy and has been in contact with me a few times just to see how I like it so far! Plus your videos helped me make my decision so I really appreciate you taking the time to make these awesome videos! Sorry to hear about your grandpa.
John deere dealer stating that his product is better than the competition.
At least the JD can be fixed at home.... oh, wait!.... No step on snek
@@trevoC132 JD will bend you over and make you tell them who's a good brand while they price gouge you because of a software bug they failed to find before releasing the product. Ask me how I know
@@keeganwatz7946 I literally won't by JD over right to repair.
@@trevoC132 exactly my reasoning for buying a svl
Well my 75-3 will pick up on side of a 40ft high cube shipping container no problem. I think they turned down relief for the video. I rented a 75-2 for a month before I recieved my 75-3. 75-3 is much stronger.
Can you get the John Deere with the door that slides up overhead? In my opinion that is a superior set-up. I recently saw a buddy unable to get out of his CTL with swing-out door because of dirt/mud accumulated at bottom of door after loading a dump truck. I had help him get out. I also have heard of some operators, perhaps inexperienced ones, destroying the swing out door by raising the bucket with the door open. Can't happen with Kubota, and I can operate with the door fully open when I want to, which is a very significant amount of time. Did Deere greatly increase ground clearance to be as good as Kubota, or Takeuchi? It looks like the Deere still has very little. That does matter. Can you get the Deere with the twin, easy flip armrests like Kubota has? With the work I do, I frequently get on, off, and back on the machine. I hate the horseshoe armrest that takes much more effort to raise all the way over my head. The Kubota armrests are much quicker, and require very little effort to flip each way. In fact, I can flip each with one finger of each hand. Off, and on dozens of times per day, and it matters. And look how much wider the bottom of the Kubota door opening is. It is easier to get into, and out of. Those things really matter. How about ergonomics? For me, Kubota positioned the hand controls exactly where they should be. Exactly. I do not know about Deere, but Kubota is the only brand that I know for sure got that exactly right. You talked about Kubota's display, but did not show what Deere has. Is it old school gages, or LCD, or what? If it is a LCD, or electronics, it's surely going to be fragile no matter what brand. Frankly, I wish I could still get another brand-new Kubota SVL75, the original. I believe it was the best, or certainly one of the best, CTL's ever built. I have not worked the SVL75-3 on a job to know how well it does. We all know that lifting ability is only one measure of performance, and there are several other factors in overall performance. You are right about the auxilliary connections on the Kubota being not well guarded, and Kubota should improve that. I do not know about leg room in the Deere, but Kubota has the most that I've experienced in CTL's. Perhaps the Deere has some advantages, but the Kubota definitely has some advantages, and ones that I consider to be important. I very frequently spend entire days (9 - 10 hours / day) operating my CTL. I do not sell equipment, but I do own, and operate equipment.
Thanks for sharing
This is a bias dealer video, Id still buy the SVL just because of the door situation. Try using that Deere and getting out when the attachment is not all the way down.
Ok so.... go and get you a sunkin rice patty
Great video, I may have missed it but how much does that concrete block weigh? Thanks
Any chance of doing a similar video with the asv brand skids like the asv rt65 max or rt75 max
Lift capacity is what most JD demos are based on, not overall job performance. It’s give and take with equipment anymore As well as dealer support..There are drawbacks to the Deere IMO like terrible visibility from pretty much every angle but forwards and the booms bending-flexing under load. Our local dealer had around 8, 331g-333g booms sitting in a scrap pile behind the dealership. I asked why and really didn’t get the answer.. another local contractor bought a 333g used and his was apparently bent a little when he bought it.. The dealership did replace it so good for JD dealer support on his.
Love this channel. Believe it or not you convinced me to buy a 325g in stead of a Cat 289. I will stick with my Cat excavators but Deere all of the way on skid steers. Next buy will be a 335P
Right on
I thought the 335p was eltric
Kubota skids reliefs are set weak from factory, a few small adjustments and that 75 will pickup more that that 317, maybe you should do a comparison vid of working on these machines, serviceability ect
So if I void my warranty on the Kubota, it will lift more. Got it. 👌
No they're just weak in general
Kubota are junk.
Serviceability on the JD is super easy.... just bring it back to the dealer and give them whatever they ask for and wait however long they like.
I thought this was a comparison video? It sounds like it's only a dog the Kubota video because I'm trying to sell John Deere. You really discredit the validity of your video when you don't equally point out flaws in the John Deere as well. You are very much incorrect on the touch screen part. You have the option of turning the hydraulic lock on or off within the system. You can change the settings all day long as you move with ease...
There is a dome light in the Kubota, and you can make changes on the touch screen while in motion, why don’t you mention the price?
Nice watch 🧐
317g is a little tank. Few things would make it better, push front of arms out to improve visibility. Connect joysticks to air seat , improve quick attach system, optional suspension undercarriage, 1 piece cab to reduce noise.
I know deere make good construcción equipment. But I like to see bobcat t595 or t66 vs 317g.
Pull the starter out of the 317 than we will talk , they do have better hydraulic but between emissions and serviceability they suck
The Hydraulic are turned down. You can manage all settings on the screen while using the hydraulics, it's just on simple setting to change on the screen in the settings menu. The cover over the lock cylinder on the John Deere is Bad idea because it gets full gravel, dirt and damages the cylinder or will not lock or unlock because it is too full and has to be removed and cleaned out.
Had a good laugh when he grabs the manual at the end and points out that the manual was printed in Japan.. same place John Deere's engines are made lol. Super biased video
Despite all the advantages there’s two big ones that are no goes for me with Deere. The biggest being the swing out door. I need a machine that I can load and unload welders, generators, etc..that are chained to my bucket. I’m a one man show so I don’t have anyone outside the machine that can hook and unhook my chains because Deeres loader has to be all the way on the ground or raised above the cab. I also can’t run the machine with the door open to communicate with anyone during the days when I have help. So that right there kills it for me. Second is Deeres absolute software ban to its customers. I can’t take my machine to a dealer every time I need to flash the drive. I’m on a budget and I do my own maintenance and repairs. If I know I’m gonna be locked out of the software, I need to shop elsewhere. There’s also Kioti/Huyundai who now make skidsteers with overhead doors. They’ve gotten with the program so they are options as well. I’ll look at the shortfalls with the Kubota and compare to Kioti and Huyundai for my next machine.
Go deere
How much does the concrete block weigh?
I’d like to know the weight of the block as well
What would happen if you turned the pump up on the Kubota all together put a stronger hydraulic pump in it doesn't really matter I'm interested in the John Deere I'm interested in that 317g just simply because it doesn't have all of that government fluid crap on it
Kubota 75-3 doesnt have government fluid crap either
Not surprised at all. Kubota sucks. My brother bought a brand new grand L tractor with a grapple. The damned thing couldn't lift a single log.
Hes correct, visibility over your shoulder non existent. Very dangerous, tie down sucks,
really expensive to fix a john deere
I am a fan of john deere until I have to repair them😂
You can absolutely turn down the radio or access all screen functions while in full operation simply using the dial. Not difficult.
I have owned both the 317 and currently the 75-3. My Kubota dealer is awesome. The 317G is more expensive than the 75-3 so I would expect it to have more features.
I own bobcat t66 and kubota svl75-3. Visibility over your shoulders is non existent on kubota. I know it has backup camera but I have been operating for 30 years . I Always look back. 25 hours up for sale. To much liability on job site.
Didn't mention the $10k Florida tax on all these machines. Also my 75-3 works and digs circles around my 317g. Keep digging sand friend and actually try to maintain the JD lol.
Relief was definitely turned down on the Kubota, my 75-3 will lift the rear end off the ground if you pick up something too heavy even with weights and full tank of fuel. Typical Deere misinformation.
I am still laughing about chaining down. Seriously you can change the hook on the chain. Rookies trying to look professional
John deers right to repair makes it a hard pass for me.
Can you elaborate? We are the dealer, we offer John Deere’s service software to anyone that wants it. We are fully transparent and want the customer to have every right to repair their equipment.
@@EvergladesTV- 1) you know exactly what he meant. Don’t play stupid. Deere is worse than Apple when it comes to repairs.
2) if what you say is true, you are exceedingly rare. 1 in about 3,500 dealers I’d say.
@@EvergladesTV I think what he means is John Deeres anti-right to repair stance. Sometimes people can't take things back to the dealer (time constraints and/or costs), and they need things fixed quickly.
Think of it this way, if you get a flat tire on your car, you can take it to any tire shop. If you water pump on a car fails, pretty much any independent mechanic can fix it.
Now imagine if automakers serialized all of their parts and made it so that only the dealers could install new tires/water pumps, and you had to use their tires. You could physically replace the tires with perfectly functioning tires, but the computer system detects the tires as counterfeit and doesn't let you put it in drive.
Well that was painful to watch. Regardless of brand, I'd be gone with that guy as my salesman.
There is a dome light in the Kubota, and you can make changes on the touch screen while in motion, why don’t you mention the price?
