Nice one guys. Thanks for checking out the Wireless ME! Just a quick note on GainAssist - it’s a bit more advanced than just a compressor, more of an intelligent automatic gain control algorithm that balances the audio based on the input signal, bringing down the peaks without the audio sounding overly compressed/limited or the usual background noise pumping that most ACGs have. Cheers from Australia!

I have the same question as Martin @1:56 can you still get audio output from the iphone speakers while the receiver is plugged in?

I bought one and answered my question. It's a YES. Unlike other mics, when the RX is plugged in, I can still play audio from the iPhone speaker. Great for voice overs that you need to replay the recording every time.

G’day Gents, you guys popped up in my suggested videos and I’m glad you did. Good review of an awesome brand. I am blown away with how much your studio looks very much like one of my main sets (yet to be released) as I’ve been upgrading my studio over the past year, I guess it’s dido, great minds think alike and you have impeccable taste 👌🏻. Happy to subscribe to my brothers in the land of UpOvas, Cheers from the land DownUnder 🇦🇺🤝🏻

Any ideas how well this mic would do as a motovlog setup? For example, if the mic/receiver was mounted inside the helmet chin and connected to a GoPro on the outside of the chin. Then the standalone mic was used nearer the back of the bike to record the exhaust sound?

is it only me, or the volume from the wireless me in this video is somehow low?

it's definitely challenged by the sound difference of that dynamic mic. I'm not super impressed to be honest, perhaps I'm just not in the target group.

I think the device in the video is not set up correctly. I had not realised how new this product was and ordered one without research as I was looking for a wireless mic and it arrived today. I found that it comes with no user manual (which is not unusual in these times) so I scanned the QR code which sadly linked to a none existant page on the Rode website. There is currently NO user manual. I played around with it and got low volume and a strange combination of LEDs on the RX unit, I could not find out why. I eventually saw a video for the "GO" variant and it mentioned the configuration software called "Central". I downloaded the Windows version but there was no built in help for the ME and the windows version did not have any configuration settings for the ME although it did detect it.
After much more playing around I then downloaded the Central APP for ANDROID from the Play Store - this DID have configuration settings in it and you can adjust the OUTPUT volume from the RX (low, med, high) into the device that is doing the overall recording. This solved the low volume issue. I then also noticed that the RX mic was off, turning it on from the App turned all the LEDs green.
Finally I also updated both the firmware in the RX and TX units, you appear to have to do this separately by plugging them in to the Android device by USB-C and updating each of them.
So its a shame the support material is not in place before the launch but once I configured it through Android Central app I am now happy

Quite noisy isn't it? A lot of hiss, might sound better without the active gain on. Hiss that comes and goes is far more distracting than a constant background noise

Can you EQ it if you want?
