Today's menu is 'Edible Water' A.K.A 'Ooho' which is basically an edible water bottle.
It consists of water held in edible transparent membrane.
I'm not sure if it can replace plastic bottles but it certainly is a lot more fun haha
One down side tho... When you mix water with sodium alginate, it turns kinda slimy which isn't exactly pleasant to drink...
I tried submerging calcium lactate solution into sodium alginate solution instead so that the solution inside the membrane isn't slimy anymore... but, it didn't work out very well as it was impossible to form it into a sphere.
I saw some people saying water mixed with sodium alginate smells awful but mine didn't really smell like anything... Maybe it has something to do with sodium alginate quality? idk...

personally, i think a better way to do this, so that if you was to eat it you don’t have to eat thicc water, would be to perform reverse spherification, by freezing the calcium lactate water into little spheres, and heating the alginate solution, and adding the frozen lactate balls into the hot alginate, so the inside remains nice and watery :)

I tried this. The the water beads wouldn't hold well (not sure why) but it was fun to make. It really doesn't taste/feel very good, like eating a tasteless jelly but what do you expect lol. This can be a fun thing to make when you're bored

Actually, it’s a very sweet delicious recipe for tteok on this channel.
It’s basically Korean mochi, very nice. Made with milk and sweet rice flour. I add a tiny bit of vanilla when I make it, it’s amazing!
