      You should see other engines. I had a van where three were way at the back and you literally had to climb over the engine and blindly reach down the back side of the engine but then didn't have to take any upper intake off. Give me a 1969 Pontiac 350 engine any day. A lot easier to work on.

    The bolts for the intake manifold can be removed and reinstalled with a screwdriver handle with a 1/4" drive to avoid putting to much for on these bolts. I use this method and works well.

  • @zachrywd
    @zachrywd Před 2 lety +15

    14:15 Do not grease threads. This reduces friction and can lead you to over torque the fastener. The only area you should be applying dielectric grease to is the connector boot.

      Anti-seize on the sparkplug is correct. Keeps the thread from seizing due to galvanic corrosion. Don't need to use a torque spec on them. Hand tighten until it stops and then tighten 1/16" of a turn further.

      I spoke with the shop today and they said the ignition switch is bad, I don’t know what I could’ve done to short out the ignition switch, because I’ve never had an issue with it in the past before I changed the plugs.
      But they said they checked everything and the only issue they can find is the ignition switch.
      They are putting one in right now , and if that doesn’t fix the issue, I’ll get any codes and let you know, I really appreciate you responding to me. Thanks for the help.

      Wanted to give you an update, the issue was the secondary battery.
      that’s what was causing all the trouble.
      I guess it was a coincidence that it happened to die at the same time I was doing plugs, but the switch did not fix the problem, the secondary battery being replaced did.
