Honest Outlaw put 1000 rounds through and had zero malfunctions.. so probably was the ammo. Yours was the first malfunction that I've heard of.. also the first I've heard about your trigger safety issue. I will be at the weapon dealer next week and I will enquire.

Safety switch is never a problem unless you use the key…..trigger is combat, fast, and frankly when SHTF you arent going to be hearing or feeling reset. Rather a hash review for a rare event. I wouldnt stay away from the steyr in any generation. And CS is very good. They will resolve this problem. I hope you get this done and come back with a revised review.

Absolutely love my L9A1, it will always have a place in my heart. Had the same issue once with a round being stuck in the chamber like you described, and the round was out of spec. I had to clear it the exact same way you did by getting the slide off and pressing straight down in the barrel. In my case that round was the issue since it was a reload by a friend. After that I've only fed it factory fresh and it has worked flawlessly, been shooting with it for about 8 years now and I always come back to it.

I have an L9 as well...same thing but it was always with Freedom munitions remanufactured ammo. After the third time I just went with new ammo and havn't had an issue over 800 rounds ish. Steyr handguns are just picky about ammo..no way around it.

I have the same gun and no issues. I would not let one round discourage me. Personally I think that some guns can shoot just about any round, but others just do not take certain ammo. Do you find that a higher grain load tends to shoot better in many guns? The way this gun feels in your hand is second to none. The short barrel on this gun with number of rounds is also a plus.

A shame, such a great option. My M9 A2 has been flawless but I've only gotten 100 rounds through it. The safety on mine does the same exact thing but it slides back out slowly on its own. Maybe it'll weat itself to functioning properly. I didn't notice it until you mentioned it though so I'm ok with it considering I would have to pull from the very top. Loving the PDP.

And bought an M&P and haven't had any trouble because I couldn't get parts for it or get it fixed and then we're going to charge me and I bought it brand new so they're sort of stinks here in the states I know the issue I've noticed with this steyr they heat up really quick to where you can't shoot after a while and they lock up on you if they don't have enough lube . Bought 3 M&Ps small 3.6 barrel and med 4 inch and large 4.25 inch and they work flawlessly to give great customer service and have a lifetime warranty and the guns I've had before they sent me the parts with no issues I haven't had to pay.

I really like my 2 steyr's but my M9 has some mysterious issue that has happened 3 times. When I take the slide off and upon putting it back on it has stuck in a dysfunctional state & then I can't get it back off or in a workable state without substantial time of working at it....the first time It took me hours before I go the slide back off to correct it. The second time I called Steyr and they couldn't give me any real solution and tell me why it keeps happening. I know I'm doing everything right at it has never happened with my L9. So now I will take a long time between cleaning on the M9 so I don't have to worry about that issue.

I have 2 A1 and an A2. None of mine have the trigger safety sticking. Prob a little out of spec or have a burr on it. But it does sound like it was an ammo issue for the stuck round. Did you chamber check it after you got it removed. Happened once to me with my reloads. And it was a bad round. Missed it in case gauge. My fault.

    • @1776orbust

@@1776orbust why did you make a video if you didn't pull out a doll caliper and check the diameter of the chamber and the round that was stuck? And have a local armorer put a go/no-go gauge in the chamber? I mean, why are you expecting us to respect your videos if you talk about mystery problems that you don't research? You could have done a great video, and instead made a lousy and incomplete video. It would have been good if you showed us bad ammo or a bad chamber. Instead we are guessing and wondering. You failed to check the round and chamber with any measuring tool. Did you inspect the chamber with a flashlight? And a toothpick to drag around it and see if there are burrs or deformities? Is it round? Why are you making videos that aren't good?

I love Steyrs to but they have very poor to none aftermarket support and a very limited option in holsters, you only option is very much kydex or some random multi fit holster, I use a dedicated holster for every single pistol. I like good holsters from good brands like Safariland but they dont do many for CZ, Steyr, HK or Walther.

Dude, I had the same issue with my M9A1. Very few times it has happened to me. Twice when I racked the slide not fully back. Once it had a light primer strike, but yeah if it gets stuck, it is a bitch to clear. Please let me know what feedback you got. I love the gun and am trying to figure out if this is just an anomaly. I could have limp waisted this I suppose but it is not an issue with any of my other pistols. I had a bad recoil spring on a used Glock 19 I bought which went away once I replaced it, but it was a cinch to clear and I only have a couple thousand rounds through my M9A1 at most. Only happened a few times but disconcerting. I am going to cycle snap caps through it to see if I can recreated the error. I suspect it is due to the tolerances being finer than my Glock…. By the way I think the trigger is good. Not as good as my VP9, but good. I’ve always put this gun ahead of my Glock, but my Glock doesn’t do that.
