I'm curious as to how old the stepchildren are who didn't give Anonymous a Mother's Day card. If they're young children, I'd give them a pass because they might struggle with feelings that it would be disloyal to their mother. Also, how would they buy one unless Dad took them shopping and he dropped the ball? I wouldn't say anything to the kids at this point, but I would certainly have a conversation about it with my husband and express your disappointment and hurt feelings. He may simply be clueless about Mother's Day protocol. P.S. I am a stepmother with a husband who made sure his young children had cards/flowers to honor me, and they continue to do so in their adulthood on their own.❤

Organically building a healthy relationship over time is the way to go for step parents. You chose their mom/dad, they didn't choose you.
Don't have the parent step in and demand it. Kids are the ones that go through the difficult shit while parents choose to date. Demanding more from the kids will only make them resent the step parent more and clash with their parent more.
Whatever an adult thinks they are going through mentally/emotionally during that situation isn't as heavy as what it is for a kid in that situation.
Im sure Im 8 weeks so lets see what the professionals think huh? Im also positive its twins, but something tells me its double the fun on that uff da!!!

Wedding and engagement rings are gifts.... no guy should ever ask for them back, maybe I shouldn't say never but they are gifts and gifts don't have to be give back. To be honest I was just happy to be out of the relationship.
