You mentioned you'd take a job doing sounds for films. The people who do that are called Foley artists, and they basically spend their days in a sound studio trying to create sounds for movies and such. I only know this because I'm a writer in advertising and I've had to go to my share of "Foley sessions" to help decide what sounds are best for the TV commercials I've written/produced. Years ago, I did a BMW commercial that featured a CGI penguin, so I attended the foley session at the Warner Bros sound studios in Hollywood. It was a fun experience watching a large 60-year-old man making the sounds of a little penguin walking through the snow. The sound they used for the penguin letting out a huge sigh was actually done by me, so I've got that going for me. Anyway, that Foley thing does look like a fun gig.

There are a couple that should have been included in this list. There are some very funny ones from an insurance company called "Centraal Beheer". Too many of their commercials to list, but maybe the Picknick one or the Acupunctuur commercial is funny. You don't need subtitles or translations for any of them, it all relies on visual story telling.
Then there is the "fake" Mastercard commercial called "Priceless" that was originally a comedy skit, also very funny and I wish that would have aired on TV. I would have absolutely gotten a Mastercard because of that one!

Seeing the Antônio Carlos Jobim "Água de Beber" recommendation, I am reminded of his "Waters of March" ("Águas de Março"), which I first heard on Art Garfunkel's second solo album, "Breakaway" during the mid-70's. Jobim seemingly had a preoccupation with water, at least as far as song titles are concerned, that is, as the latter is a random listing of images that are for the most part unrelated to water. The song is nevertheless pleasing to hear, as is the recommended Gilberto track. Thank you for posting!

Some European ads are wild, that's true. Here, at least in some European countries, we have agencies/organisations that examine the ads to determine which ones are suitable to air on TV (even if it doesn't look like it lol). And there's some censorship sometimes, but on things like not promoting hate or having a (somewhat) neutral language (if you advertise a product, you can't claim it does things it doesn't do), they don't focus as much on the "adult" content as they do in the US. Nudity isn't allowed, at least during the day, but innuendos are allowed (and "graphic" stuff always gets blurred / censored, even if the ad airs, like in the Czech one).

it's not edited, the actors from the movie looks nothing like the ones in the commercial and they are clearly speaking Czech and not Swedish. Heinz in Czechoslovakia simply reenacted the scene from the movie.

Czech commercials are known to be either rly dark, funny or "not giving single f*ck". And sometimes (like in this case) they are combination of all 3.

Watching commercials from other countries points out how uptight we Americans are. I love them. I must admit though, I was stunned by the Heinz ad. I'm surprised Heinz okayed that one, but I guess it's as you say; companies and ad agencies must adjust their ads to fit their target customers in each country. 😮

Japanese commercials in a European commercials compilation would have been weird :D (but of course, I get your point!). I don't have A TV for more than 20 years so I don't know how commercials looks like now but I still remember the Canal+ one (I'm French), so I guess they succeeded making it memorable. I found the vodafone and Heinz ones very fun too.

International music choice: "Les Champs-Elysées" by Joe Dassin. It's sort of like a jolly, classic French equivalent to "New York" by Alicia Keys.
I remember studying for something years ago, so I decided to listen to French music so I wouldn't know the words of songs and get distracted. It worked (tip if you're studying and listening to music - less of a distraction if it isn't in a language you can speak). Anyways, I love this song!

My music recommendation for you is Heilung. Absolutely fantastic. The "go to" songs are usually "Anoana", "Krigsgaldr" and "In Maidjan". I would also recommend "Norupo". You can't miss with any of those songs. They also have some tracks that are poems/stories. Can't recommend that group enough. Their shows aren't called concerts, they call them Rituals and they call their music "Amplified History". Can be a spiritual experience listening to them.

Companies are on top of the cross cultural thing, due to a series of mistakes.
One example was by Chevrolet. They made a successful (in English speaking countries) called the Nova. They couldn't give them away in Spanish speaking countries. Finally, someone at the company found out that in Spanish. "No va" means " It doesn't run."
