    The best patches to use are from Park Tools; they are super adhesive and don't require any preparation of the rubber surface. I used to use them on my mountain bike whenever I got a leak, and none of my patched inner tubes ever leaked again from the same spot.

    Thank you for your videos. You can also detect any holes in the cushion by submerging it in water. If you need to repair it, I've found that transparent silicone glue works well for small holes. This method is quite effective and helps extend the life of the cushion.

    I use my iPhone. It's quite simple and it's pin point. You'll need your headphones equipped(AirPods or Beats, etc) and the phone which you will use as a microphone. Access your control panel and tap 🎤Live Listen and move the phone with the mic part over the cushion. The noise of escaping out is very loud, don't increase the volume too much. Mark the area with something after identified and apply the patch. Also, if the instant patches are failing, you can use something like liquid rubber/pvc, keep in mind those type of adhesives are emitting fumes and must be used in a well-ventilated area.

    Best thing to do to locate the hole is to fill it all the way, lock the air chamber and place the cushion in a tub of water. You can easily see where the air bubbles are escaping and voila, you found the area that needs patching. I was so lucky to find my ROHO used for $50. I have the same one as in this video and it sells from anywhere between $450~$550 USD even more on some sites. Great cushion!

      It certainly is a way to find a hole. But I don't agree that it's the best considering many factors such as how someone who likely needs to be in a wheelchair would do this without a cushion. Especially if the tub is hard to get to (or if there is no tub nearby for use), also it gets everything wet (and might raise the water bill for filling a tub). I think I'll re-record this video in higher quality and will mention the water-submersion method, but also the drawbacks

      @@WheelchairDNAcompletely agree, the water method hasn’t worked once for me in 7 years

      We put it in a dry sink. Filled. Found the leak without much water!

    I have a what looks like a memory foam seat. Doesn't give me any trouble at all.

      There’s absolutely no comparison between a memory foam and a ROHO. Apples and oranges!

    Hi, you made a beautiful video, I also found the hole in my roho cushion like you did... Do you know a method to replace the completely pierced cell?👍

    • @WheelchairDNA
      @WheelchairDNA  Před 2 měsíci

      To replace the entire cell sounds difficult. I think at that point you’ll need to buy a new cushion

      Tell me! And even though they are excellent for the wheelchair they get holes often and sometimes is very hard to find them. My son has 4 of them piled up in the closet and we can’t find the holes, even when submerged in the tub

    Soapy water works everytime to find the hole

      Yes, but not always the best since this isn’t a flat/smooth surface
