They were there and did clean up. Without the EPA toxic ashes would have not been removed and would have washed into the ocean and other waterways.

We don't need an EPA to hold polluters accountable. It was illegal to dump trash and chemicals before the EPA. We already have a system for civil suits when corporations pollute and cause health issues. We don't need an organization, working from a building built with marble imported from Italy to tell us how to conduct business. The EPA should have its headquarters in Alaska, so they can protect the environment.

Under her regime only 2% of sites got cleaned up. In fact, she was so inept that a congressional investigation was done and the amendments to the act in 1986 added minimum cleanup requirements as well as legislation to shut down the ability to do the sweetheart, corrupt deals that were seen during Reagan admin.

Temperatures and climate can be inferred by tree rings, flora and fossils for the era, ice cores, sediment layers, etc. It's natural sciences. Nature recorded the temperatures. Duh.

He said that they were unhappy with the ruling and they weren't going to evaluate whether they are in compliance or not. They are just going to wait until they are sued and go down swinging on our dime. When Trump gets elected, I hope he takes a more permanent bite out of this rogue organization so we don't have to waste all our money putting the Federal EPA in their place.

I also live on limited budget. I see no difference between administrations. All of those mostly successful pilot programs were proven helpful and their ending is why anyone thinks it was better under trump and harder now. Unfortunately, social safety nets are looked down on, even with proof of many being successful and ultimately costing taxpayers less.

States have their own EPA. Why does the Federal government think that it has to do everything the States do. There is no reason for the Federal government to second guess States EPA or Education. Abolish the Federal EPA.

Look at it this way - if you live near a coal mine and you don't have any way to move, then you can either develop the coal which causes pollution or you can live in poverty and die from not being able to go to the doctor. Everything - including regulation, has a cost. Why don't the Democrats ever look at the balance that must be achieved. Maybe the power should reside closest to those most affected rather than with ivory-tower, Washington bureaucrats.

Chevron deterrence does not give the courts the power to make rules. It gives congress the power to make rules. Basically, it greatly reduced the executive power and put it back into the legislative branch. The courts don't make rules, they determine if something is constitutional.
I think EPA Administrator, Michael Regan seems to be sincere and is being treated respectfully by both parties, well the reps that are there for more than to give a 5 minute slam, bam n run right back out the door.
