    I like it when there's a real picture of the person. The Egyptian style they were doing there in the mid to latter 19th century was aesthetically very pleasing at least to me.

    There must be a stairway between the 4th floor and the ground floor, that would give access to floors 2 and 3. If there were no stairs, and you were on floor 4 and the elevator stopped functioning, you would be trapped there forever in that creepy building. I could feel the paranormal power through my laptop.

    • @CryptDoor
      @CryptDoor  Před 2 lety +2

      I have looked in the past for a stair well and unless it’s behind a locked door I never found it. In the bathroom there was a secondary door that had a lock on it who knows

    @4:11 Morris Stusaft - He was an amazing developer and the reason that Redwood City was developed and exists. He was from Poland quit school in the 5th grade, started out shining shoes, the moved up to building a plumbing business (the largest in thew west) which led him into construction. He was the one who built the Pacific Gas and Electric building at 245 Market St in San Franciso, and Stusaft park in Redwood City is named after him. He did a lot of other developments. Interesting guy.

    May 2-4, 1946 - Known as the "Battle of Alcatraz" and the "Alcatraz Blastout," six prisoners were able to overpower cellhouse officers and gain access to weapons and cellhouse keys - in effect, taking control of the cellhouse. Their plan began to fall apart when the inmates found they did not have the key to unlock the recreation yard door. Shortly thereafter, prison officials discovered the escape attempt. Instead of giving up, Bernard Coy, Joe Cretzer, Marvin Hubbard, Sam Shockley, Miran Thompson, and Clarence Carnes decided to fight it out. Eventually Shockley, Thompson, and Carnes returned to their cells, but not before the officers taken hostage were shot at point-blank range by Cretzer (encouraged by Shockley and Thompson). One officer, William Miller, died from his injuries. A second officer, Harold Stites (who stopped the third escape attempt), was shot and killed attempting to regain control of the cellhouse. About 18 officers were injured during the escape attempt. The U.S. Marines were eventually called out to assist, and on May 4, the escape attempt ended with the discovery of the bodies of Coy, Cretzer, and Hubbard. Shockley, Thompson, and Carnes stood trial for the death of the officers; Shockley and Thompson received the death penalty and were executed in the gas chamber at San Quentin in December 1948. Carnes, age 19, received a second life sentence.

    I was there in January. I was on the fence about spirits until I spent time there. I heard a moaning noise and I quickly walked outside for a bit. Once my nut’s dropped I decided to get on the elevator where I was FaceTiming my friend whom refused to go back with me. On the ride up it got really cold and that same time my phone froze up I felt something on my left shoulder and heard what sounded crystal clear to me was “it’s okay, come with me.
    Once I made my way up I went straight to a door which was unlocked leading to the roof. I opened it being greeted with a security door. Riddle me this, Why did I know the dial combo to the lock?

    Unfortunately, the wind contaminated the sound on the 1st floor. I tried going over the video again with the volume all the way up with headphones. Just heard noises that could be explained by either the wind or the traffic from outside. The building itself sounds like there's little to no insulation from the outside noises on the 1st floor. Also, there were too many places where it sounded like the wind was leaking through. Probably from the old windows or small cracks in the the walls. The 4th floor seemed to be better with sound insulation. Was a great walk through anyways and would be a fun place to explore in the future.

    All of these people have been cremated, which is a surprise considering so many died a long time ago. It must cost a small fortune to place an urn in one of the nooks to be held there permanently. Do you have any idea of the cost, I'm just curious. Thanks for the nice tour.
