I'm guessing since one piece is apparently supposed to take place in the same era where pirates were rampant in our world's timeline its not surprise that someone in the 4kids one piece universe would think that way.
Even now people think the earth is flat

@@elimDBZactually the rise in belief for flat earth is a "recent" happening (earliest documentation of *big* belief in it was in the 19th century), even then it would've been ridiculous since all the way back romans proved that the planet was spherical with casted shadows so most literate people in the past(scholars and high status people who's jobs relied on knowing to read) knew that the world wasn't flat and it goes the same for people like Columbus, so a literate pirate who did the bare minimum of seafare probably knew that the earth was round or at least spherical.
Their world is also made of more islands so navigation is probably general knowledge to many, especially after the red line where you need special compasses for the unusual magnetic field a thing you can only discover after you know the world is round.
And with the myriad of floating islands and flying devil fruit users it would be more unusual if they didn't know it.
But Helmeppo could have been *really* / ignorantly sheltered enough to not know it even if he's literally a Navy's captains son.

@@gabeclements2501most of the straw hats can tank a bullet no problem, but any sword can injure a straw hat. Luffy especially, he can absorb bullets but if he’s hit with a sword he’s going to bleed. At least before the time skip

The water gun censor could almost work considering the Marines hunt pirates that have Devils Fruit powers. Then you think for a bit and realize how rare Devils Fruits are and having all Marines have water guns is just as dumb as it sounds.
And also that devil fruits aren’t affected by moving water
They'll need to submerge devil fruit eaters for them to get affected by water. So, it's just dumb and weird

The only reason I wish 4kids still dubbed One Piece is to see how they dig themselves out of plot holes they created with their censorship and also how they'd censor arcs like Water 7/Enies Lobby.

@@jremedy7053 Uh, yeah, 4Kids dubbed One Piece, and put poison suction cups in Krieg's gatling gun. It was fucking dumb, and arguably more violent than what 4Kids was trying to censor, especially considering the potency that the poison would need to 1.) poison someone through their skin and 2.) actually hurt immediately after doing so.

Someone getting their head caved in by a hammer is arguably more violent in concept than a regular gunshot to the head, but that doesn't matter, because it's more cartoony imagery.

went to see Film Red with a friend. He watches Sub, I watch Dub(only for One Piece), so we watched once each way.
The only dub voices he had problems with were Franky and Shanks. I personally love deep Franky, but I get that he's not everyone's cup of tea. When said friend mentioned not liking Shanks' voice, I just showed let him hear 4kids cockney Shanks and he just said "ah, I guess it could be worse"
