    Around the world is very useful…do it during rest periods from drills…so for example if you have a dribbling drill and in between sets or the next drill do it while you catch your breath

    • @GuigaRizzo
      @GuigaRizzo Před 2 lety

      I use it to warm up my shoulders. I start doing low and going high. When I got my arms lifted I stay for a while then I start my other warmups. Anyway, I will do like you between sets of dribbling drills. It's actually a good idea. Better than be static catching breath.

    What Coach is trying to say is don't focus on drills that will not make you better on court. But focus on game specific drills that could translate into your overall game. I like the spider dribble tho, it makes tight handles.

    I like to think the around the world drill is kind of useful when you're a big man
    I'm pretty sure I've seen Jokic doing it so the opponent doesn't see the pass coming I mean it's hard to go from twisting it around your body to passing it but it definitely is possible and I think it's easier doing when you're a big man
    Of course this is my opinion and things work differently for everyone

    Great points! 100% correct, HOWEVER....I can't stand all this carrying the ball. Players, and you, are literally stopping, standing up, and then take off again. It's ridiculous, and detrimental to what was once a beautiful game. Now, it is a dribble-fest of look at me...
    That being said, I THINK YOU THE SMARTEST, AND ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS ON THE WEB!! Just don't like the long hesitation and complete carrying of the ball. I'm old, but fully accept most of your teaching points, but wish carrying would stop!

    I agree with the first two not around the world though.
    Kids at a young age need to learn how handle and move the ball from one hand to the other and in different directions as it also mimics receiving a pass and grabbing the ball.
    It is also a fun very fun activity that kids love to do .
    You could do it every other practice and add different things to the drill to teach another skill you wanna focus on like passing or shooting.

    So what you saying is, stop the 5min warm up drills that give you your touch, build up your individual finger strength, hand speed and coordination, no do instead more of the drills that you do usually afterwards of which a single one is around 4-5 mins.
    I dont know man...sacrificing the benefits of my 5min warmup for one more of the drills I do afterwards...getting that advice from a "coach", well how did you put it
