With a lot of grinding I can see that time going down to a 4:1x or even a 4:0x, since my early game could be 10-15 seconds faster. The rest of the run was really good. - Hry

- What's that ticking sound before the teleporting?
I'm using a metronome and try to move forward at the 4th beat.
- How do you teleport?
You want to block for 129 frames, then walk forward for 4 frames. You can use a different timing like 126/7 for example, the goal is to reach 133 frames.
- Why are you teleported to the Stone Platform right after you die?
We zip so far away from the capital that the ground start despawning. That kills Elden Beast.

I believe it's a metronome. The ticks are used to time the zip glitch easier. Makes it to where there's less room for human error

No mods just glitches, however you need a rly beefy computer to do the zips cause theyre hardware based

Quite possible indeed... He missed something like 16 zips, and that's a few seconds for each fail, so definitely possible to do sub-4, and possibly even sub-3:30. 😎

I don't think Im getting it. Are speed runs finding anyway to get from the beginning to the end. Using every and any glitch possible? If so, you definitely did that. Kind of weird to me though.
It depends on the category. In this case, the speed run was to see the end credits using any way possible within the game's limits

Speed runs aren't even fun to watch anymore. Falling through the sky and glitching through entire areas.
More fun to watch them have to finesse areas as opposed to just glitching through floors.
I would have to agree, but we will always have a plethora of finesse% runs. I'm sure it means lots more to the people routing and running it, but the only thing that's remotely interesting about these to me are the fact that there's routes being engineered that make them possible and that it seems you need to be pretty consistent for what I'm guessing is a frame-perfect trick (even with the assistance, it's gotta be finicky if nobody can get a run that looks clean to an outsider). I don't know, I'm partly in the dark. My guess is that positioning and getting these off can get a little exciting. After all, the fastest time is the fastest completion of Elden Ring in all of history. The room for error must be pretty damn unforgiving and there's gotta be a sizeable history of routing by this point. Just completed my first playthrough after…409 hours 😅. What a coincidence…planned on 4:09 for the next run. Maybe it's time to lace up the record shoes.
