The paper change is because of Tomoe River's recent changes. They were bought a few years ago by another company and the manufacturing process changed and fountain pen people everywhere were up in arms and upset because the things everyone loved about the original Tomoe River paper had changed. This new paper is supposed to be much more like the original in its ink absorption and sheening qualities. Hopefully they've nailed the formula and fountain pen folks everywhere can relax and rejoice!

Just to add to this. Tomoegawa, the company that manufactured Tomoe River paper, had to stop production due to the rising costs of wood pulp. They operated at a loss for over a year, but once the machines needed to be overhauled, they decided the cost was too much and stopped production. Last year they sold the rights to produce the paper to Sanzen Paper Manufacturing. The new paper, from what I am understanding and can't wait to try out, is supposed to be lighter, more bleed resistant and a more crisp writing surface. For all the Techo except weeks the new paper will begin in 2024, but the weeks will debut the new paper in 2025. :)
The green color in May is my absolute favorite of the entire planner too! 😊 I’m so happy that they kept all the colors in the planner. There are too many black and white planners out there.
Really cool. I started using a notebook and a planner instead of my smartphone, and I switched to a dumbphone. I can't wait for a new dumbphone update video. Thanks :)

Ashton, I love your videos as usual. I won't be placing my order this year until October, but I'm glad you got that champagne color weeks because I was hesitant because of the soft cover. I love that color, so I'll definitely be ordering it. I'm adding a few new techos to my arsenal plus the new planner from Sterling-Ink for my finances. We'll see how that goes. lol. I'm thinking of getting one weeks in English and one in Japanese, the cousin in Japanese and the A6 in both original and Day free. I really like how the columns are slightly wider due to the larger grid size in 2023.
