Hello Prof, I used to watch your videos from Kenya in 2022 but I am now completing my first year of PhD in the US in a stem course. Just know you inspired me. Thank you. Actually all the things you said turned out to be true to me when i came to the US.
this just made my day :)
Woow this is very inspiring ❤
Kindly suggest some study for normal students those can earn better for their life here.i hve four kids tell me about future study make some vedios in urdu or hindi.really nice and hero person u r
Very nice video. It has been prepared after a lot of hard work and research. Loved it
Professor, please bring that Video on "Top 10 PhDs dominating the future"..
Been waiting for that since long.😅
oops, the script is mostly written on it. Yes sure :)
As you are just living by yourself. Rent some rooms out and split all tehe expenses which can help you in spending less money out of your pocket.
Just wanted to make two points...
1) Is the size of home & apartment anywhere near to same?
2) Do you buy only home or you can own apartment as well? And isn't that kind of middle path between home and rented apartment?
I like the zero dollar reference 👌
Also mention location like live in apartment in san francisco, New york or seattle or buy house in texas
My son needs your advice how he can contact you personally.
Living inNY.we r quite impressed by your blogs.
interesting what are taxes in texas....add 4500 to monthly groceries car EMI and insurance....one needs to be doing minimum usd 250k gross per snnum
all that can be between 1000-1500
@@DesiAmericanProfessor OK, but for z family of 4 with two school going kids...their mthly tuition school bus fees...plus weekend leisure trips or family get together...all should add up usd 10k pm..that's 120k pa...that's the taxation on say usd 250k ...is it 30% or 35%....snd getting usc 250k is after how years of job experience depends on sector too tech banking etc
What would be your avg monthly spend on groceries and gasoline?
may be 500 around, but it can really vary. Groceries, gas, car insurance, and other payments such as phone, internet roughly add to 1500
@@DesiAmericanProfessor Very informative video, Thanks!
you are my idol for PhD
I am about to finish my PhD in Europe and want to move to America, my only fear is the gun violence (40k people killed in 2023). How do people survive gun violence and crime in the US?
You should make a video on how to plan getting an academic or industry job during a PhD program and also provide guidance on some of the most useless PhD programs that students should avoid like a plague but I guess that can be a separate video. I can provide pointers if you need. Thanks,
Already made two videos on job search for academic positions.

@@DesiAmericanProfessor thanks for your reply. But there is a need of a video about majors that have very low employability. In other words they will end up as a postdocs or adjuncts all their life if they enroll into those majors.
now such a video is too risky for me. I need not get into unnecessary controversies. My own university will have those department and it will not be appreciated.
@@DesiAmericanProfessor That makes sense. It is more practical in a university setting. I just delivered a seminar and educated students about our major of environmental and occupational health and safety and how they can use it as a premed major to apply to medical schools as opposed to other majors as premed. I guess highlighting the employable majors without a negative connotation to other majors is a key,
Your house expenses are exorbitant for Texas. I live in Fresno, CA and own a single family home. I pay much lesser (granted it’s not LA or SF), mortgage and interest 1500, property tax 260, no HOA, insurance 80, pest control 100 and landscaping 75 (total of 2015) I don’t pay cleaning. We clean ourselves. I wouldn’t even afford 4500 and I am also a faculty! We are R2 institution and don’t earn as much as R1.
insurance 80? May I ask who is your provider? By the way I pay zero for landscaping as well.
@@DesiAmericanProfessor I have subscribed AllState Fire insurance which is required here in CA. I forgot to add $50 for American Home Shield for home appliances insurance. It is good for AC, water heater, garbage disposal and other plumbing and electrical items).
@@DesiAmericanProfessor he is taking about his car insurance maybe
Dear Prof,
Biking, gym, exercise looks totally off the topic from the video description. Probably would have been better with a separate video.
you live alone?
$200 for electric use in apartment? Never paid more than $120
depends on area, rates in that area, what all appliances use electricity etc
looking very sexy prof 😎
