We are using a Mod for Total War: Attila called Age of Vikings. Subscribers join me in this great battle! The defenders are playing as the Kingdom of Wessex, Kingdom of Mercia, and the Kingdom of Northumbria. And of course the attackers are the Vikings! Enjoy the Siege Battle :D

I regularly do 3-7k budget battles in aoc/aov. Do it with only regular shot for full historic emersion. I would recommend around 6k for a 20 stack because it give you around the correct historical ratios between the elite warriors and fyrd type troops. I enjoy your videos and hope that you may at some point try this sort of battle.

The tv show that you mentioned in the beginning is AMAZING. Just started and I'm hooked.
The show doesn't even come close to doing the books justice... and the show is pretty awesome. Bernard Cornwell is my favorite author ever, I totally recommend all of his stuff!
I remember Apollo playing age of Vikings once on a raining day and it was like so chill with berserkers and everything. I love this mod man just sipping on some green tea and man it just makes this mod.

They're lifestyle was barbaric and animalistic, which is cool when you look back on it, but not when you think about the raping and genocides they committed.

love the battle pretty sure more heads cluttered the battlefield;d today then any other so far
love to see some Irish stuff, mercia about turn 15 always invades Ulaid AoC, very difficult. I usually aim invade Mercia before they get a chance, but English kingdoms are allies, so before turn 30 you've got wessex, northumbria and mercia fighting you.

Hey Pixlated Apolo, the reason while Viking Berserkers were so good is because they would normally get extremely high before a battle so they wouldnt feel any pain in battle, there was a story of a single berserker holding back almost a 100 men at a single person wide bridge because of him being high on drugs it took like 20 guys drawing him out to take him down

Verry VERRY nice vid, Wanna tell 1 thing. I never ever use flame arrows , becouse its less effective and everyone can see who you are shooting. I dont like the enemy can see who I am shooting. 1 exeptions is with elephants.... Annyway this was a nice concepted battle, with the landing and reinforcements Who are comming. GREAT !!

It wouldn't really be fair, the vikings would have to outnumber the knights 3 to one because of the technological advantage of plate armour and deadly weapons like the poleaxe the more modern knights would have. The vikings just didn't have the equipment to contest plate armour, since it never existed in their time.

Pixelated Apollo If you like the tv-series, I highly recommend reading the books it's based on, they're a great read.
I actually would love to watch pixie play a campaign. he has shown that he can win a battle with tactics but i would like to see him win a war with strategy.

Hey apollo the last kingdom is based off a book series called the Saxon tales by Bernard Cornwall they are fantastic definitely recommend reading through.

This game is nice!
I usually attack in waves when I play sieges. I send up the light infantry to soften up the defenders so that they get tired and then I send up the heavy infantry. I use my heavy infantry to kill of the remaining defenders at the gates and then I send up the skirmishers to soften up the last defenders and then I send them in together with the heavy infantry when they are out of ammo
