- The St Pete Pier in downtown St Petersburg Florida is open! The pier opens every day 30 minutes before sunrise and closes at 11 PM. Visitors no longer need to make reservations to visit and can enjoy the Pier any time it is open. *Video Timeline with topics below.*
Since the Pier has opened, there have been a lot of questions about visiting. Because we live within walking distance of the Pier, we have been able to visit several times and have made this video to help others plan their visit to the St. Pete Pier to make the most out of the exPIERience.
In this video we identify parking on and near the Pier, provide an overview of the restaurants and bars, identify where the restrooms are located, share information about the Tampa Bay Discovery Center, respond to common complaints and share what we love about the Pier.
There is sooo much to cover when it comes to this 26-acre waterfront area. We really tried to provide a comprehensive guide to visiting the Pier but know that we probably missed some topics.
- If we didn't address a question you have in the video, let us know in the comments and we may be able to answer it!
- If you have been able to visit the Pier, let us know what you enjoyed most about it in the comments!

This is a pretty amazing place. The bending arc is one of the most amazing art I saw in years, (disclaimer, I saw it only online), it is mystical, fluid, cloud like, amazing. Great detailed video. Thanks :)

Great informative guide guys, you thought of everything in this one!
Thanks! It took a lot of prep..and many visits to the Pier. We hope it does help others plan their visit in the future!
Thanks for the great explanation. The parking near any pier during weekend is always tough to get! The bending arc is really an interesting one; it’s really good at night as you said! Nice 👍
Thank you! Yea the parking is tough during busy time. The streets around the Pier get so busy, but thankfully there are a lot of other parking options. Thanks for watching :)
Thanks, being that the humidity is suppose to be coming down lately...was thinking about going down there. Really appreciated the parking info, for I had no idea.
Oh wow you are really getting into our old videos now, Greg! We did share a lot of parking info in that video though and we're glad you found it beneficial. We hope you have great time at the pier!
@@Explorcation Thanks, was down there yesterday wandering the streets, and the pier, walked alot, ppl were friendly, stopped in the two diff restaurants at the pier, just to check them out, it was nice, parked in the garage at 1st Ave. south, which worked out well, actually I wasn't even charged, parked for free, stopped at Angelos(1st ave. n.), you had mentioned that in a previous video, so i checked that out, stopped in for a drink at 5 Bucks on Central, they had Central blocked off, with food trucks, and a band at one end, that was pretty neat. Overall, found St. Pete to be a lively place, more so than my area, it was nice, I am glad I went, and that you gave me a lot of info.
@@greg33770 you made it to a lot of places 🙌and how great is it that you didn't have to pay for parking 😁
Sounds like you stumbled upon Frist Fridays (where Central was blocked off) that is always a fun event! I kind of forgot it was happening last night or we might have wandered down that way.
So greatfull for this detailed information...we're headed out there this Thanksgiving week..thank you🙏
We're so glad to hear that you found the video to be helpful, Jun. The brand new ice skating rink will be up and running by the time you visit, if that's something you are interested in. We hope you have a great time in St. Pete!
@@Explorcation subbed, liked, notification all(:
@@junb7786 thank you so much for your support, we really appreciate it!
Thank you for sharing this tutorial guide,it is very informative and helpful specially to those who want to visit that place..
Thanks so much for watching, we hope it helps those who visit plan their trip :)
Thanks for the info. I visited the old Pier many years ago coming from the De Soto Park in our boat. I love the architecture before than now. Will be good to show pictures of the old one for people that never went there before.
Yes we wish we would have lived in Florida and had a chance to visit the old pier when it was still around. The inverted pyramid looked like a really cool building.
What a great video!
Roller blading huh😁
I think from your videos that the place is beautiful. I can't wait to someday see it.
That 🦀 was a show stealer. Too cute.
Yes roller blading! We have seen so many roller bladers out on the pier it is awesome! We hope you make the journey across the state to experience it some day :)
@@Explorcation We certainly hope to plan a trip to your neck of the woods. If we do we will certainly reach out.
I live 10 blocks directly West by Central Ave, so I will take the Trolley. Thank you so much. GREAT tips. God AWESOMELY BLESS you ❤❤
Thanks so much for watching and for your comment 😊 we hope you have a great Pier experience when you do visit!

Super useful video! Subscribed!
We're so glad you found the video to be helpful. We try to make our videos equal parts useful and entertaining. Thank you so much for the sub!
This was a really detailed guide - so informative! It looks like there's so great spots to eat and drink. I would love to try the rooftop tiki bar! I'm curious what the pier used to look like now after what you said about the architecture complaints... going to give it a google!
Thanks so much guys! The Tiki bar is definitely the place to be for the best views. We have seen pics and heard about the prior Pier, it was much different, and it sounds like many in the community have great memories of the prior Pier!
Our daughter will love the Discovery Center...she love water animals :)
aww it is a great place for kids ❤
*Nicee.eee street ! Nice beach 😃😃😃😃😃😀.*
Thanks the Pier is a very nice area :)
Awesome 😊
The tours I love! The picture behind you where could I find find it? Just Love it!
Oh wow thank you so much, Terry. This was one of our early videos from when we were just getting started! We're glad you enjoyed it even though we were still just CZcams beginners! We wish we could remember where we got that picture, but honestly we've had it for 10+ years and have no idea where it came from. If we were to guess, we'd guess we bought it at a Marshalls or Home Goods store.

Thanks so much for watching!
Love this ULTIMATE GUIDE! Really appreciate you guys making it so that it helps people with all the answers to their question! I think my favorite option is the LOOPER! Public Transport is the best to get there to avoid the parking confusion! HAHA. Just a random question, were you guys reading during this? I was hoping for a little camera engagement so it feels more like you guys are talking to us more. I know it's difficult, but B and I always have issue trying to learn our lines in order to convey the info. I think part of it is also to make sure to stay enthusiastic in your video especially if it is longer. We love you guys and hope that you take your Travel Video energy into these types of guides! Can't believe a public place has issues with parking, no shade, and no toilet! Seems like it's not planned well :(. Though it is an outdoor space, they could probably create more of lounge areas.
It's also unfortunate that there is only expensive food. I think if they had $5.00 options, people would be FLOCKING to the pier. Too much concrete isn't good either, it takes away from the nature experience! That bending arc looks super nice! Yoga class there is so cool!
Great thorough guide! For people who are interested in this area, THIS is the guide for you!
Thanks guys for watching and for the feedback! This video was definitely different for us. While we weren't reading, we had a lot of topics to cover and points we wanted to share. The Pier is such a large space with so much going on. This video was more about sharing the necessary information to plan a trip. It is so new in the are and people have a lot of questions about visiting. We will definitely be bringing our travel video energy back soon!
@@Explorcation Love it! Keep up the amazing work!
💚
Thanks so much for watching!
Very informative video. I live in Los Angeles but I grew up in St Petersburg. I was able to experience the previous upside down Pier as we liked to call it. In my opinion the problem with this modern looking Pier is it does not look tropical. It does not look beachy. Tourists who come from the northern states want to experience that tropical feeling. Going to a building that is modern in nature reminds them of being in New York City not in Paradise! The structure almost looks standoffish... A beach-themed tropical Pier would have been much more inviting and stayed in fashion much longer than this modern Pier will. A decade from now people might look at the pier and say what were they thinking? Whereas a tropical beach Flair design never goes out of style.
Hi and thanks for sharing your thoughts. We are always open to hearing more about what others think about the new Pier, especially when they were able to experience the upside down Pier. It will be interesting to see what people say about it years from now :)
If you do an update, I suggest you improve the mike audio with professional help. The music was only distracting because the voice audio was weak.
Thanks for the tip, Harold. We're happy to say that we have indeed upgraded our audio equipment (and video equipment as well) since we made this video almost two years ago. One of these days we will have to do a new video on the pier!
Regarding the 1 million-dollar hanging art... I think it was money not wisely spent. Instead they could have given 20 local artists $50,000 each to design 20 different stand alone art exhibits to be dispersed all along the pier and walking path ways. People would have been able to stop and admire the individual artwork and take photographs in front of it. That is what we did in the city of West Hollywood along Santa Monica Boulevard and it is fabulous.
That is a great concept. I don't think they would have had any trouble finding 20 local artists to collaborate with. There is so much creativity and talent in this city. If we make it back to California we will have to check out West Hollywood, that would be cool to see!
The Pier is full of concrete because it was designed to be hardened for hurricanes.
Great info, Harold. Thanks for sharing.
Is there an elevator ?
Yes, Edward. There is an elevator at the pier head that will take you up to both Teak and Pier Teaki.
