I was invited to try out Carrera's amazing 1/32 scale slot cars and a Digital Track. Here is a look! Want to see more? Carrera on Amazon: amzn.to/2Qwdd6O Ethan's story: www.huffington...
Former Aurora slot car enthusiast of the 60s and 70s, fast forward several decades later and I recently reintroduced myself to modern day digital slot cars and purchased my first Carrera 1:32 set 2 months ago. I am hooked, at least for now. The cars are absolutely stunning.
I am glad you did a video on these. I have been growing more and more curious about these slot cars brands and the level of detail on these cars. These look fantastic!
I didn't know Carrera was still around. I haven't touched these things for over 30 years now. These models look great as they are on their display cases already. The red Ferrari is a 488 GTB by the way. No problem seeing more of this with new cars shown. Thanks for the presentation.
It's a 488 GT3 Challenge you can tell from the vents behind the doors. They are for the turbo's inter-coolers I believe. The 488 is turbo, and the 458 was the last of the naturally aspirated V8's. They look almost the same other then that.
This is the most enjoyable experience ever! I have scalextirc tracks,(its pretty much the same, different brand) and the cars are so amazingly detailed, you'll enjoy it forever! Great video, keep the great work!
Can’t recall what scale cars I had as a kid. I was around 12 or 13. Had to go to a track that was local. It was about 200’ of track in a 30’ space. Just remember it was awesome, but the place shutdown shortly after I started going.
I bought an AFX HO scale track a few years ago and have a small collection of autoword slot cars. Love it my dad got me a track for Christmas in the 80s best Christmas morning of my entire life.
They don't make no Japanese models, but they do a Kafer racer 🤣 www.amazon.com/Carrera-30820-Digital-Racing-Vehicle/dp/B06XKTJ79T/ref=sr_1_76?ie=UTF8&qid=1544919810&sr=8-76&keywords=carrera+132+slot+cars
Carrera and Scalextric are out of Europe, so the cars tend to be stuff that was raced over there. You'll see Honda touring cars, Toyota rally cars, and any Japanese prototypes that were raced at Le Mans, but there's a huge gap in the market for JDM stuff. Some people in the hobby will build their own JDM cars out of models and and off the shelf chassis, but that's next level stuff.
Imagine if they made the slot cars based on hot wheels models. That was a great show case, its nice to know what collectable products are out there. This definitely gives me something to think about getting. Im an addictive collector. That would be awesome besides hot wheels to do maybe a weekend show case.
That is great! Enjoy! Watch out! These are addictive! I have a couple hundred of 1/32 scale slot cars. I started out with a Carrera track. Now I have a track routed out of wood.
Duuuuuuude, I love Carrera slot cars. I have a ton of them. I live nearby the biggest distributor in the us and they've taken so much money from me. I recommend these to everyone, you will not be disappointed. They have so much detail and run so smoothly
I had a similar set, and I loved it, but adding a third car, pit lane, and the Bluetooth App Connect sent it over the top. With the App Connect, you can use your phone to set up races based on time or laps, change how much power the cars get (so your kids don't send them into the wall), and with the pit lane, you can force the cars to pit before they run out of fuel. Plus, with a third car, you can race your kids. Those upgrades are not incrementally better, they're so much better, I would count those as required purchases.
Carrera originally was German, got bankrupt coz management fails and was later bought by an Austrian industrial group. In the sixties and seventies we boys in Germany all drove Carrera. In the nineties I bought a racing set and enlarged it for my two sons. Its like the now so called Garrera Go! series which is analogue.
To have any sort of track that's large enough to wind these cars out you need lots and lots of room. I have space for a 20 ft straight but not much width and that limits the fun. Using the same space for AFX 1/64th scale cars we have a fantastic track set up.
these carrera slot cars are nice super detail and all..i see them all the time at the mall..but as nice as they are got to pull back...they are pricey too..
Carrera is out of Germany, and they're one of the two biggest track manufacturers in the world (the other is Scalextric). They've been around for forever, and their stuff is pretty high quality.
Ive been trying to find the cars from Days of Thunder in 1/32 1/24 scale but no joy, just tiny 1/64(?) ones that barely look like cars, anyone know if there was ever a 1990s era Chevy Lumina stock car made in 32 or 24 scale I can mess with some paint and decals? Its weird because i find 1/32 scale decals for DoT cars quite often, I guess for non-slot airfix builds or metal scale models.
@@jasonferguson1167 search Carrera 132 dodge charger and Carrera 132 Mustang. Doubt you will find the paint jobs from Bullet though. May have to paint them yourself. Here's the closest Charger I could find a little work you may be able to make it a 68 ail lghts may be a problem. www.amazon.com/Carrera-Dodge-Charger-No-30-1972/dp/B0086UTHH8/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1544924040&sr=1-1&keywords=132+charger+slot+car
They haven't done the Bullit , Pioneer slot cars did and in Analog mode with the option to upgrade it to digital but with Scalextric brand, see my fb page stelar slot cars & hobbies
beautiful models wonderful to see however they are really "connectable Cars" I cant imagine you having a carny case for these on your wall. that being said I'm glad you put this up on the channel and there may be a lot of cross over people on your channel that also would like to have some of these
had cheap junky Slot car sets (one with a R33 skyline and Mercedes) as a kid, would love to have a proper high end one someday. Scalextric has a lot more interesting cars that might appeal to your viewers. No Japanese cars outside of maybe a GT-R though.
Hmmm, saw that set (or a similar one) at an independent hobby store several years ago. It's interesting, but seems like something I'd (or my grandsons) would lose interest in after a short time, especially If it takes an hour to set up and then I'd be the one breaking it down & putting it away!
Great set!! I'd love to buy 1/32 digital for my boy but is way too expensive. I am planning to buy 1/43 set and run some 1/32 cars ( which I am going to buy $50 a piece on ebay) is it possible? Many thanks!
You won't have enough room to run two 1/32 scale cars on a 1/43 set track. You may be better off buying a Carrera Evolution 1/32 scale analogue set which will allow you to run both 1/43 and 1/32 cars on it, as well as 1/24 cars, as the track is actually 1/24 scale size. Analogue cars are usually less expensive to buy, and the Carrera track will accept cars from most other manufactures without an issue.
Carrera has full lines of older NASCAR stuff from the 57-60 era and then the 67-73ish era, including Superbirds, Chargers, and Barracudas. They also sold Daytona and Talladega sets with banked curves and the fastback era cars in them for a while. If you're buying their cars new, they're quite reasonable, but since they usually come out with new liveries for their models every year, some of the models from previous years are highly collectible and can get expensive.
Cool video. Cracked up at the confusion over who was turning the lights on and off. Great video.
I'm 45 years old and I still love these racing tracks

I Got a set for Christmas in 1965 and went bananas.
The intro with the kids talking sold me... my little guy is going to love a set.
Thank you so very much Steven hemet cal.
This is fun. We need to see more car models and track designs. 👍

I liked this preview a lot. I grew up with slot cars and these are amazing. Please show more when you can.
I LOVE 1:32 slot cars... I'm more a Scalextric guy, but Carrera is good too!
If they had some JDM cars I'm totally in
They sure do!

Scalextric makes Japanese cars, and 1:32 cars are relatively competitive between tracks if you run them analog. amzn.to/2GlkKRf

They just made an Intial D 25th anniversary release. AE86 & R32 skyline. Asia exclusive though
I'm all in. Carrera looks like they are on the Right Track!!!
As a kid I had something like that somewhere between 1999 - 2005. The only one difference between 2018 is: cars now have own lights :D
Super cool 😎 It remember me when I love play with my scaletrix as a kid.
The light are a nice touch

If you can keep in doing it! I have some carrera cars and a track too! Awesome!
That fastback is 👌👌

Autoworld makes 1:64 scale slot cars and sets. Those would be cool to showcase and PLAY with.

It seems like a nice way to enter into 1:32 slot cara I love it

do it those cars are just stunning !!!!!!
Awesome awesome.
I really would like to see some Formula1 cars on the tracks.
The classic Ferrari vs McLaren.
I think these cars are awsome would love to see more
Truly awesome details in the cars . Makes me want get a set ! 🙂
Is there any chance to fix the metal thing underneath? Because it was worn out.
these carrera slot cars are nice super detail and all..i see them all the time at the mall..but as nice as they are got to pull back...they are pricey too..
My local hobby shop stocks these models. I have an
AFX HO scale racetrack and if I had the space I would definitely have a 1/32 scale.
Love it, keep doing it, I used to play with the old aurora sets
Love these.. great video, not real familiar with them as a company but had a few slot cars over the years might have to order a set lol

I would say two thumbs up 👍👍 on this video.

Oh yes, let's get back into slot cars!
Carrera should do a Steve McQueen set ,1968 Charger and 68 Mustang....Bullit.
They make both them cars🤔
