The new bottle is beautiful. The juice isn't terrible either. Just isn't Dior Homme. But, again, a really good fragrance.
I love the new version! I have not smelled the old version and I have wanted to for a while. Where can we get the older version?
@@JloveLamar I would recommend local flea markets/trade markets, or you can also check those Perfume shops at the local malls. They generally have the important stuff like Dior Homme. A local trade show vendor has a 150ml bottle for $85. My opinion, that's really good. Plus you can smell it before you buy it.
@@harveytrevino2257 Trade markets? I haven't seen anything like that in the Bay Area 🤔
@@utcas7804 They did not ever carry them at any Macy's I have been to. Macy's, Neiman Marcus, nor Bloomingdales. This new version is everywhere!
Fun fact, I didnt like the old version, and i love the 2020 version.. Im strange
You are not strange. I feel exactly like you. I just can't stand Iris in perfumes. That's why I really like the new 2020 Version
same for me haha
i just blind bought the dior homme parfum -my God it's feminine!
better buy bdc its almost the same but better performance
@@djkidii what's bdc?
I'm new to Dior and fragrances in general. I suppose since I do not know what I'm missing, I think the new 2020 Dior Homme is a nice scent and glad to have it in my collection.
Should have launched it with a totally new name instead of Dior Homme, makes you wonder what's going on in the development office of Dior
We have to understand that LVMH is a multibillion company that's obviously after big revenues more than anything else. It's actually easy to understand they're pursuing more mass pleasing fragrances than those that would be appreciated by a small group of connoisseurs and enthusiasts. In fact, the same applies to just about every business sector these days, and it's only a sign of the times.
I personally love it!
Want to buy my 200ml?
It's actually one of my favorites now
@@mechminded2207 he can take mine for free!
I can’t believe they changed the smell!
UNBELIEVABLE!
@@YallaMiami they should rename if reformulating. And change up the packaging in a more obvious way.
This is a very pleasant smelling fragrance, I sprayed my hand at Ulta yesterday and I couldn’t stop sniffing my hand after I left. I’ll be buying a bottle soon. This will be my 2020-21 winter fragrance.
@Perfect Blaq It has iso-e-super, and you will not smell it strongly all day. it comes and goes. But the smell is oustanding, when the scent is in the air.
@@cigaroceani disagree i get 4-6 hours projection, 8-9 hours longevity.
then again that’s my skin skin though.
It’s going to work perfectly for those who start their day early with the meetings with clients and customers. When it’s 7:00 AM all you need is a simple grab & go inoffensive parfum. Have to keep loud artistic perfumes for the evening.
Really nice, in depth review! Thanks for sharing!
Most fair review ive seen on this
Sebastian you always on top with the new realest great review thanks .
Great review spotlight Sébastien, you are spot on, I just tested the dior and it totally resembles the chanel!
Thanks for saving me a few bucks. 🎩😉👍🇺🇸
Great review I'm glad to hear there's hope for the intense version to be released soon.
I actually prefer the new version. It seems brighter without the iris.
Dior Homme reminds me of Tere D'hermes EDT, but DH is fresher. I tried it at the store but since the bottle was empty, it barely came out but I insisted on spraying it. I thought it wasn't enough to let me smell it but I was quite surprised because half an hour later I could smell the fragrance very well! And in fact, it lasts longer stronger with you which I sprayed quite a lot on my hands.
Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm gonna try it have a blessed night
This from a basenotes thread about this new release :
"I've now called the Dior product manager at LVMH, who was super friendly and helpful and explained what's going on:
The whole line get's a new packaging.
Dior Homme Eau is going out of production.
The existing Dior Homme EDT is going to be sold as long as stock lasts.
Release of new Dior Homme EDT is next year around mid January.
There will be a new Dior Homme EDT Original which should be similar to the exisiting Dior Homme EDT. It will firstly be sold primarly in France and Belgium and on Dior.com - also Douglas in Germany will get it in stock exlusively at the first time. They are not sure if it's going to be more widely available in future.
Dior Homme Intense will not be reformulated in near future.
Dior Homme Le Parfum is still in production. Same for the Sport and Cologne."
Thank you so much for posting exactly what is going on - Appreciated.
Props for you for sending us this message, man. I'm glad nothing's gonna be changed on DHI anytime soon, if it's so.
I'm confused... they will release a new Dior Homme Edt "Original" that will exist together with the new Dior Homme Edt 2020? Normal consumers will get so puzzled...
@@dr.coomsha which batch does Intense get reformulated? The upcoming batch 2020?
@@dr.coomsha man, that's a bummer. I'll keep my hands on the under-2019 batch bottles only.
I’m a woman and I’m currently wearing this...I love this fragrance!
I love Christian Dior Homme 2020 wearing it right now! 👌🏼
Try to to understand the identity through fragrance...this is sooo boring and common fragrance, nothing provocative or breaking...
@@utcas7804 Indeed, but some people don't want provocative and breaking...
Dior Homme Parfum 75ml is being discontinued worldwide and replaced by 100ml bottle. Already available at Dior's french website.
I never owned the originals and just got a bottle of this, but you pretty much nailed it on this one. it is pleasant and soft yet a little old school smelling and masculine. its good but not great. just wish the vetiver shined through more on the drydown, but that dusty musk just overpowers it... they shouldve put a little vanilla in the base. i layered some vanilla body spray on top and its not bad..
Top notes: bergamot, pink pepper, elemi
Heart: Atlas cedar, pachouli heart, cashmeran
Baase: white musk, aiti vetyver, Iso-E-Super
The Original Dior Homme DNA was made by the now in-house perfumer of CHANEL Olivier Polge. Francois Demachy merely improved on that DNA with its flankers so that led me to think that Dior wants to "redefine" the Homme line in 2020 as a signature of Demachy himself. I would have to side with Dior on this release because frankly in essence Olivier Polge is the one who "gave birth" to the Homme DNA of Dior with its "signature" iris note.
With that said, i am very excited what CHANEL will release next for its men's line of fragrances. I would love to see Olivier Polge bring his expertise on iris to CHANEL.
Hello! I'm also a big fan of the original Dior Le Parfum 75cl and I'm kind of sad that they decided to discontinue it.. I still have one bottle but it is going to finish soon. Is there anything else that you would recommend for a big fun of that fragrance? Thank you in advance for your help and have a great day.. Lorenzo
Ok, I’ll get it despite the different smell I got when I tried it at Macy’s. Maybe iris had run its course.
Woah I’ve never seen you whip out a bottle of Dior Sauvage before 😂Great review Sebastian, thanks for your honesty as always ☺️
In my opinion the new 2020 Dior Homme shares DNA with Eau Sauvage parfum. I love both.
I hope they don't discontinue the original and the old intense version. That'd be abysmal.
Igghie B they did
Vasilis Roumeliotis ffs
i like the pink pepper in Dior homme 2020, more ez to wear even in hot summer
thinking about picking this up and layering it with molecule 01
A professional review. thanks.
You're welcome!
I’d like to go check this out. Enjoyed the vid ✌🏻
I tried this during the week in the shop and it smells pleasant but passable for me , I'm sure many will love it and if they do I'm glad they have something they enjoy 👌
DHP is still king though.
Wearing rouge smoking by bdk parfums today 🍒
The best review came from the long experience. I haven't smell the new version but I feel I won't like it.
Let's see in the reality what will happen
Thank you
I actually liked it, despite the hate it gets. Sure it's unoriginal and is gonna probably be washed over and forgotten quickly. To me though it's an easy reach for work. Reminds me of Dior Homme sport 2017?
Nicely done! I really like this one a lot...blind buy at Nordstrom, no tester. Pleasing, versatile and easy to wear.
@Dan Johnson.. I can respect that. I believe it was created to be a people-pleaser. I'm curious, by any chance did you like the original version? So far, people who loved the original didn't care for this one, while people who are not familiar with the original seem to enjoy it. Just curious to see if that applies here or if you were never a fan of the original or own both and like both?
@@tiredoffools8929 I own Dior Homme and Intense, love them both! I get it, but I kind of see it as a stand alone fragrance...easy reach. Stock up on the O.G! I ordered an extra..
@@ferbeybill That is interesting. Yes... had to buy a few back up bottles of the OG, as well as DHI. Ironically, I was interested in the new 2020 because of the comparisons to other ISO E Super frags which "work" for me at work. Not bad to have non-offensive work scents for office use.
My only real issue is the rebranding of a legendary classic. Could you imagine if Creed decided to just drop the original Aventus and instead sell a Molecule 01 clone in new Aventus packaging? Aventus is probably a bad example because of the clones that exist, and Aventus Cologne is almost exactly that....but I'm sure you know what I mean. : )
@@tiredoffools8929 Yep! Well said..
Absolutely. I do not like the start, bit I like the drydown. And, yes. It reminds me of BDC, but with woody touch.
Yep I agree with what you shared here but to the point I’m not disappointed and I’m intrigued by the concept of a darker boozy leather version of this DH2020 for the DH2020 or new parfum
Big fan of your videos. One thing I suggest is to say the fragrance names instead of (this one and this one) for people wishing to listen to you while driving or people who are blind, its really difficult to keep up. Thank you
Will make a point of repeating names in the future! :)
Waiting patiently for your review on the New Dior Homme parfum 100ml - love to know if it’s the same as the discontinued 75ml. Thanks.
Hoping soon! :)
good review. I just got it. good fragrance
It's scaring me to think that original irisy Dior homme might disappear
I like your honest opinion, I wanted to comment but the last one was 2 yrs back? Understand why though...
I heard that Dior Homme Eau was actually discontinued. Anyone else hear this? Many retailer websites and the Dior website in multiple countries either have the 5oz or the 3.4oz out of stock.
would have been interesting if they had ROSE in it, and started a new line with ROSE, like they did with the IRIS previously.
Glad I got a 100 ML bottle before they changed the formula...haven’t smelled it yet, but have a bad feeling that I’m not gonna like it. Thanks. Now they ruined my 2nd favorite perfume ever since Jean Paul Gaultier II Unisex was discontinued. The seller at the store I was at told me it was the last bottle they had, as Dior was gonna change the formula after the new year as I got it back in November. Was gonna get Sauvage, but hate the smell. I prefer heavy woody, musky sweet scents.
I love this 2020 Dior
Thx for the reviews
Excellent review man
Andy from Berkeley
I agree, this one is nice and smells in the vein of BDC just not as smokey or dark in the drydown. I like the super fresh opening. Overall, i think this will be a big hit in 2020
Now Dior has reintroduced iris accord in the ‘new’ Dior Homme EDT Original 2021, what happens to Dior Homme EDT 2020 which I actually quite prefer.
What’s gonna happen with our beloved Dior homme parfum, is it really gone?😔 I’ve discovered it from you and it’s for real the best ever designer fragrance
So this should be the Eau Sauvage Sport... Elemi, vetiver, spices, bergamot... Perfect fit to the Eau Sauvage line... Light as a sporty version.
That would be a weird spin off since the sauvage line seems to be betting on more concentrated presentations plus they also released the spray product. Not a bad idea though!
I believe Dior came up with this flanker to capture sales from the rest of the population that don’t like the original version like me. I tested the original many times (due to all the hype) and never liked it. When 2020 came out, I was all over it. I need to get my nose on sport 2021.
Interesting that you get a small sillage, on my skin I get very heavy projection and longevity. Stuff just leaps off me.
Hi Sebastian. I don’t wanna smell the new release. To me Dior is going in a wrong way, so I won’t bother to try new stuff like this...
Sorry if this was stated in the video and I missed it...but did Dior Homme PARFUM also get reformated (or discontinued) for 2020? Or is it still readily available in a pre-2020 formulation?
I believe so yes but have not seen or smelled the new version.
I tried this a few days ago at Macys. It smelled pleasant on the card. They did not have samples, so I sprayed my arm and left. The sales rep liked it and said it was spicy. I did not get that, but it does have pepper. I could smell it in the wind walking to my car and seemed nice. On the way home, I become confused. I have lost most of the scent and it is very different from the paper card. A few minutes later, I catch a whiff in my car which I enjoy. I arrive home confused with a soapy, grassy scent on my arm and a fresh, sweet woody scent on paper. I have no wood. I look online and realize that the base note is Iso Super E which will vanish from your smell along with the wood and others. The grassy soap was from the vetiver. A few hours later, it was better and I liked it. It seems like a nice choice for daily wear and I will revisit soon. Give it a chance as I went from like to not to like within several hours. It doesn’t smell like other designer fragrances to me and maybe not what the fanboys wanted. However, Dior obviously made this change based on sales. The original might be groundbreaking for the Iris, but that was 15 years ago. Iris has been used everywhere for many years. It is 2020 now. Change can be good. I know DHP is a fan favorite but not a sales favorite. High selling products are not discontinued, and this was happening much earlier in 2019. DHI is no longer listed on the Dior US website as of earlier in the week. More changes to come. I agree the marketing campaign is confusing, but Dior must have seen value in keeping the name and selling the rest of the 2005 & 2011 inventory.
You just explained your whole life story lol
@@hasnainhamid8785 but it's facts
My SOTD was Dior Homme Parfum. ..then came home to see this video. curious what you will say about this one.
@J Dimon…. here's his review on it:
czcams.com/video/EEXm37LOxtg/video.html
Spot on I picked this one up back on December and I thought it was buying the original Dior Homme, come home to find out that it was a totally new fragrance. Need to get the original before the price starts to get crazy.
I should’ve bought 4 bottles before they reformulated it 😢 that powdery Irish was godly
Yeh, it’s different. But I like it! A lot! Only knock against it is performance - which is only average, at best.
This is probably going to be just like Miss Dior Cherie, which was later renamed Miss Dior, and original Mis Dior was renamed Miss Dior Original
It actually smells good to me my girlfriend loved it, it actually came in at number one in GQ magazine.
I get a dior homme sport 2017 + dunhill Icon
Im racking my brain trying to figure out what classic fragrance reminds me of a frag from the eighties
Sebastian,as of now do you know if they are making a new 2020 Dior Parfum? Thanks!
It's already out yes I hear from people. Not the same for sure1 ;(
@@ThePerfumeGuy That's terrible news. I am new to the Dior Homme line, so I am a little late, is the 2019 version of the Parfum ok? Thanks again.
Yes 2019 is still fine for sure!!! 😄
@@ThePerfumeGuy Cool!!
@@ThePerfumeGuy Last one Sebastian, I have been reading that the new DHP are 100ml bottles and the OG only come on 75ml, is this correct? Thanks for being so helpful.
Dior homme Intense also has a new bottle but dont know if it's a new smell. Smells like Iris and Woods
@PewPewLazors... My money is on a complete reformulation and the OGs being discontinued. If you enjoy any of the old ones...buy it now while you can.
I just wonder if the EDT is similar than the parfum.
I think it’s sad. I hope they keep The original Dior Homme, which is my alltime favourite of perfumes!
I own a bottle. I'll live with it but BEWARE, it has NO iris and doesn't resemble Dior Homme Parfum or Intense.
Good review here.
Just got a bottle of this. Didn’t like it in the card, liked it better on skin, but smelled “eh” to me.
3 hours later, I can still smell it and like it a lot more.
Dior wants to be updated and have something to compete with the other big dogs in the business.
Dior Homme was somehow polarizing where I live, there were people who loved it, but many who hated it with a passion.
I like them both!
I like the new Dior Homme. It reminds me of a scent my dad used to wear....I know, that means it's lame and super boomer, but he was very dashing and classy back in the day, so blame it on nostalgia. It's a solid scent.
Maybe Dunhill Icon?
@@henkkman Possibly. I'm going to have to find some of that if it's still around. Taking a break from TF Oud Wood and Oud Minerale and looking for this falls musky oud scent. Any recs? I have to cologne rape my husband who eats kimchi so I need a good sprayer.
girlnextdoor0703 Sorry, musk or oud isn’t my thing, don’t have any recommendations on those.
I don’t like that the name stays the same, but the fragrance has changed. I could see some unhappy customers who shell out over $100 and do not get what they are expecting.
What are your thoughts on the musk in the drydown?
Synthetic not bad it's a decent fragrance but I prefer the original! :)
Thoughts on YSL L'homme?
I love it, I don't care what fragcom says
You should always love what you love
@Joke...I agree with Frag Man.. you should love what you love. Then there's your YT name ... 🤦🏻♂️
Do you get compliments with it ?
Sebastian, I feel like Dior should have come up with a whole new LINE for this fragrance. Of course the "Blue Fragrance Masses" will love and enjoy it but re-branding a new frag over a classic is confusing (and I might even go as far as saying disrespectful to the original) for sure. I believe fans of the originals will be disappointed and people who never smelled or cared for the original will enjoy it. Perhaps they could have just called it something like Dior Homme nouveau and have a slightly different bottle shape....perhaps move from Rectangle to cylinder shape but with the exact same aesthetics. I think that would have made a better launch. With that said... I'm heading to Paris later in the year.... any chance you can give us a few recommendations on some Paris exclusive fragrances I should be aware of?
You can go to Maison Christian Dior boutique and buy these: czcams.com/video/ECoDIhNI458/video.html
Or you can go to Jovoy and buy some new brands that are not sold here in the states:

Mention Sebastian to Francois and he'll treat you well! :)
@@ThePerfumeGuy Thank you so much, Sebastian. It is really appreciated. :)
I tried it at Dillard's last week and it did NOT work on my skin at ALL. So disappointed!!
I freaking HATE it
I can’t believe they got rid of the old one
I used to wear the old one for Years!!!
This is like Sauvage, if ambroxan was replaced with Iso E Super. It's pretty basic. Bergamot, pepper and Iso E Super.
Hi
I think Dior is keeping the Dior Homme formulation as a "New" fragance Dior Homme Original
Could you please confirm this? Thanks
Thank you for the review. We can't get it in London at the moment and it's not featured on the Dior UK website.
This is just yet another typical mistake made by 'out of touch', lazy Corporate "Drones" - They are idiots. A wasted opportunity to launch a new range using a substandard formulation that will only damage their brand.
The fact that they've stated on the packaging " The New Fragrance" strongly implies to me that they're keeping both lines running side by side. The original line is a very strong seller.
However, they have deleted the original line from the Dior website in the USA. Dior Homme Parfum is still readily available to order in the UK and yet is not listed on the UK website.
Finally, "The New Fragrance" is not listed on Dior's website in France.......The whole thing's a corporate mess ! lol
I tried it, and have a sample, eh, it's ok. You tell me do you get any Ambroxan ? I do. Much prefer Chanel Bleu de Chanel, which I don't wear anymore.
This video would be great with Ashley! Please, make a video with her about this new fragrance! Cheers! (Don't get me wrong, the video was awesome, but I believe Ashley as a woman, she would have a different point of view!)
I actually got the new dior homme 2020 because fragrancenet hadn't updated their picture, which showed the original dior homme bottle. will be returning
I tried it i felt it was fresh and pleasant and drys nicely but doesn’t last that long.
But my girlfriend loved it 8 hrs later when she came in.
Did you get many compliments with DH 2020?
Sympalogy wouldn’t buy it as a compliment getter

I really like it. Very masculine and pleasant. I think it's one of the best iso e super flagrance. Signature worthy for sure.
I have this fragrance on my list of to smell fragrances soon for a potential purchase.
Not available in the UK ? is strange using the Homme name? should have been a complete different name and bottle. looking forward to testing when or if it becomes available UK ?
I’ll miss the Iris for sure. Hope they keep the original.
I live in a "3rd world country" but Weirdly everything that comes out on the day of the launch of some big high end designers like Dior or CHANEL and even exclusives like the Dior Homme parfum is available at a local luxury mall and the boutiques can be located at their respective websites! I don't understand reviewers saying exclusives when we got it here. 😂 Rich big name people are hiding in my country!
The new one is not comparable with the original one. As always Dior destroyed another beautiful fragrance. What I have understood Dior is not a sustainable brand that you can rely on for years and years. I would like to know what would be your opinion about the most sustainable (kept the same notes) fragrances
Its clicking like Dorothy's heels for me woman love this it causes googly eyes 😂😂
The dior homme parfum was also reformulated.
Your liked the new version Dior homme reformulated. Thanks.
Now the Dior sport & Cologne just have new packaging the box it's been that way for a few months now exact same Frangrance though.
The opening seemed to have nothing in common with Dior Homme, but the dry down it began to resemble DH Sport to my nose. It's a pleasant scent, but probably a pass for me.
I smelled this a few days ago at Macy’s. Really uninspired IMO.
Just passing thur. just pick this up 3 spray nothin.... ❗save your money
Love the new bottle tho
Sebastian, how do you get all these new perfumes so fast? We don't have it in Germany yet and everybody tells me that in Europe we get it faster… I don't understand Dior..why did they do that to that classic? No idea..there are more than enough boring and calm scents..But what do I know anyway. Originality is a rare thing nowadays in the perfume world
available everywhere in US
I think Dior homme 2020 is the best
Yeah!!!
