Man you are the only person I found doing the same thing I'm trying to do with the same model R6. I have tried and failed at 3 airbox builds so far all because of the secondary injectors. I have a airbox now I built that works but leaks boost because of all the holes from the injectors. So please when ever you figure out the air box post ASAP so I can do something about mine. Yeah I’m still working out the details. I got some ideas but we will see what happens. I’m continue to post my progress as I move forward with the project.
I got my intake finished. I ended mounting the secondary injectors inside of the intake to eliminate any boast leaks.. I haven't figured out how to add photos on my post to show you lol
Don’t forget to align those cams and torque them if you install aftermarket ones. Are you installing aftermarket camshafts and pistons and rods? I would to hold up against the turbo.
I forgot to mention that my R6 is on a 4 wheeler frame as well so I got a little bit more space for add-ons but I can still make it work. Another word of advice is to run a separate oil system and not off the engine. The oil pressure is too much and will blow oil through the turbo. So I ran a small electric oil pump with a oil can and works great
Turbos are cool. But....... tons of complexity for 1000cc power. Seems it's easier to go with 1000cc. Not to mention all the stress and strain on a 600 powerplant, transmission, and frame not designed to handle 1000cc power.
Hey man!! I was recommend to hit you up!! I have a 2015 R1 that has a toce exhaust. I got it tuned by a company here out in utah called motostation by they absolutely suck. Toce offers an ecu flash for the exhaust I bought. I was wondering should I go through Toce themselves? Or do you know any places I can send my ecu to, to have it done better than toce? My bike should be making around 190 with that exhaust is what toce shows on the dyno. Im sure it might be able to do more with a more skilled tuner. What do you recommend??
I definitely wouldn’t go with Toce tune that’s for sure. I personally have a R1M so I got the 15+ R1 figured out, and I do mail in ECU flashes. The R1’s is actually what I’m known. Depends on if the motor stock or built. If it’s a stock motor I probably wouldn’t go over 5-6lbs.
